I would hope that if it is true that the family have moved back into the house, it is either with the agreement of the bank, or if not, that they are jailed for contempt of court when the issue next appears before a judge.

You'd want to retract that and see the attachment, just one of a number of horrific injuries inflicted by the violent firm on an elderly man. Hope you wish him a speedy recovery?

It is laughable that you consider that a horrific injury.

Still finding it hard to muster any sympathy for a gang of loyalist bully boys taking over a home.

Still finding it hard to muster any sympathy for someone who is a "large-scale farmer" who own "a substantial acreage" and gets stung for €400k by the revenue before defaulting on their mortgage.

That dog seems to have got a raw deal though.

Very unlikely that KBC/Cabot consented. Also unlikely that it will get back before a judge - if the Order for Possession was 'penally endorsed' which I think was mentioned somewhere in this long story, they can be lodged in the Straight Bar Hotel by the Gardaí.

The manner in which the eviction was carried out...... This is the big issue with many posters.
But, if the residents just left the house as per court order, there wouldn't have been any issues.

The residents decided before the eviction that they would fight it they brought any problems on themselves.

they didn't bring the behaviour of the security personnel on themselves. what they did or didn't do is a separate issue to that. the only thing they brought on themselves was an actual repossession of the house.

i think most are to be fair. i think at this stage they are pragmatic and are beginning to realise that ireland is the one who is actually genuine in terms of looking out for their interests and is the only country which can truely offer them a good future.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

People "eking out an existence" aren't collecting 177,000 VAT on sales.

Substantial business people are charging 177,000 VAT on sales.

The scale of the sheds in the aerial footage suggests a large operation.

And they refused to walk away, which in turn led to them being forceably removed.
    Brought on themselves

He owes the revenue near a half a million euro.

Where do ya think this cash goes, here's two headlines just from today's paper.

19 kids on trolleys today and by 2019 we'll have 59000 people on waiting lists.

And if they left the property peacefully (lawfully) before or when the sheriff/security people showed up, then there would have been no hassle with the security people.

Not that they indicated that :) but while tough measures are needed, why from northern Ireland and not the republic? Seeing as it is the republic. I think that's what they mean by the historical context bit, and they're right, dumb-ass move by KBC.

Otherwise though, people don't get evicted unless they are really taking the piss, and it's the very last resort following years of notifications.

I am sure it is like lots of other facets of commercial life in Ireland. Look all over the country. Why are people shopping in Newry? Why are so many big events in Dublin stewarded by a NI company? Why are border GAA counties buying produce in NI to sell at half time? Why are cars being bought in NI and GB?

*Why Gimme a pound and not Gimme a Euro?

    VAT CALCULATOR (IRELAND)

    Price excluding VAT: €769,565.22
    VAT(23%): €177,000
    Price including VAT: €946,565.22

In order to generate €177k VAT, he would have to have billed €945k (this is open to correction).

The guy evicted was a criminal, it's not surprising he knew other 'good republican' criminals. Birds of a feather flock together and scumbags seldom differ.

And bear in mind that was under-declared VAT so the revenue was higher!

The loan was taken out in 2004. The revenue judgement was 2015 I believe.

Much experience of "loyalist scum" down in Tipp, have you Tom?

I have plenty of experience of loyalist scum.

Why don't you go and live beside these pond scum and see how long you last in the area with an Irish accent or any other poor misfortunate from another country who gets burned out or intimidated out of their home.

That's the trouble with the "Irishmen" on here defending these scum being paid by incompetent Irish officials to come down here to terrorise and evict Irish people, you are very brave behind your computer at other peoples misfortune of having to deal with these scum.

The occupants have had more than enough chances to make agreements and have not done so and should be evicted even though I think it would have been best to leave it until after Christmas, and would have been last sunday with just an old ex guard arguing the toss over the validity of the order like in plenty of other cases in Ireland that we never hear of.

Kbc ****ed up they should have looked at who they were hiring.

If you brought in the Kkk in to Detroit and had them rough up elderly people it would engender a backlash and to be blunt the KKK would last 5 minutes against the group that were brought in from Belfast.

    Inevitable.

I think the fellow made his bed as well though and has to cover his debts.

The approach taken guaranteed an escalation.

    Does he still owe revenue?

Even if he has reached settlement with Revenue, that doesn't mean that he has paid even a cent back. The settlement just means he's agreed with Revenue that this is the liability he owes. He would have a number of options to repay, including instalment arrangments.

Yes but how many companies would undertake such work. I know of none.

Watch the video tbh I think they were restrained myself and as I said I have seen far worse from bar and nightclub security staff on a night out in Dublin. All I saw were eejits who refused to leave a premises that was no longer theirs. It is been blown out of all proportion by the Republican rentamob and their social media groupies.

I hope KBC get an order from the court to get the trespassers on their property turfed into jail. People need to see real consequences to ignoring a High Court order.
