    And just in relation to it;

Had been giving me trouble as far back as the Overwatch game. Partly responsible for my meltdown during same.

Ruined part of my first solo trip with my eldest to the UK to see family.
Made me miss work in absolute agony a couple weeks ago.

So it truly is a joyous day :D

    It's Christmas fm day!

Wham was my first song of the season this year. I'm happy with that as a start!

Put up the CHristmas trees yesterday, had the 3 kids decorate their one and they had Christmas music playing on the Alexa. Was quite nice, all them working together and no fighting! should have got some hot chocolate for the occasion looking back

Christmas tree will go up on Sunday in Casa Molly. Then we will see how long it takes the new cat to pull it down.

Same here! Wifey is away for the weekend so the kids and i will tackle it by ourselves! Wifey will either arrive home to a perfect Christmas wonderland or a hot mess of Christmas!

Probably the same in our house. Wife's folks are heading back to Zim today after a surprise visit so we'll need something to lift the mood in the house. Ikea are doing their tree/voucher deal again so we'll head across and get on there.

I'd love to put up my tree this weekend, but there's a heap of cleaning and tidying to be done before we're Christmas ready, it'll be the 8th in my house hopefully. I'm very excited, we got 2 extra sets of lights for the tree this year, so we'll have 6 sets in total, you'll be able to see it from space!!

My lights set has 500 on it, fairly happy with that. The tree is pretty big as well, had it on the older tree when we first moved to Malta (Always had a real tree in Ireland so started from scratch) and the lights were just too much on the tree we got from Lidl. Got one from a Christmas shop last year, much bigger and nicer and the lights fit perfect :)

Tree can wait. Took the incredibly important step of locking the kids choices in with the Santy Letters, using a combination of Christmas music videos (Oh look kids! Jona Lewie has been shot by the Hun and his wife is alone at the fireplace - IT'S CHRISSSSSSTMAAAAAAAAS!) , Mince-Pie Cookies from Sainsbury's and Neurolinguistic Programming to ensure they made the "correct" choices. Pressure's off now, so let the Nog flow! Advent Calendar comes down on Friday night, Tree maybe the weekend after.

Dunno if they still do 'em but the Orchard in Celbridge did fantastic fake trees about 10 years ago - pricey, but they look great and they last at least a decade, maybe more if it doesn't fall apart when I open it in a week and a half!

It's like regular Nog but with more protein - what's not to like?

    (that's a no, BTW :D )

We've had the same fake tree for the past 4 years. Picked it up in a closing down sale in April for 20 quid (RRP had been 80 iirc).

Love it, so easy to assemble and take down.

    My nog?
I make it fresh! We have wild nogs in the garden, every winter morning I grab one from under the thorny brambles and squeeze it straight into a pre-heated mug.

    My kids?
I can answer but first I need the 2nd and 4th digits from your PIN. Thanks, can you just confirm those numbers? That's right, the 1st and 3rd digits from your PIN....

Lost my car key in the last few days. No luck finding it.

How much does a locksmith usually set one back for a car?

My car is fairly old and not alarmed, so Im looking for a regular key rather than a fancy programmed one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,024 ✭✭✭✭Baggly

Unprogrammed key might get you into the car but ignition may still need to be programmed.

Ive honestly no clue. Key usually just goes in and turns, BINGO car is on. Does that need to be programmed.

Looking online, seems promgarmming can increase the price a fair whack. How do I know if it needs to be programmed ?

I'll pm you and try to sort some details for you.

Too late now, but if you wrap the head of your key in tinfoil, and try to start the car, and nothing happens, thats a key that needs programmed.

Most cars can program the keys for you, but you need one good key first.

So, with two keys, keep one safe, if you lose a key, get another made and use spare to programme it, then keep spare in safe place again. So if you have only one key people, get a spare made asap.
