If they had it not locked into exclusive Sky coverage thats how you fix declining viewership.

Reality is if people want to watch something they will find the cheapest way of doing it. Sky are not the cheapest way. I got into F1 as a young lad watching it on RTE I'm sure others here are the same.

I did enjoy David Kennedys commentary on RTE.

Lots of good points, like how FE is developing to impact F1 thinking and how the market is changing rapidly with NASCAR and F1 suffering from declining and ageing viewership.

This is a great read for everyone.

Lots of things at play for F1's current issues, all in all its a very scary picture.

TV ratings are heavily, heavily skewed by the current paywall. The viewing figures of CH4's free coverage dwarf that of Sky's, but CH4 only have half the races, and one one next year. People watching via less legal means are completely omitted too. I fully believe the audience is there, it's just that people aren't prepared to be bent over by Sky to watch F1. All liberty can do is ride out the storm that is Sky's current contract, and pray to god the loss of free coverage for the next 5 years doesn't destroy what good will is left.

Just saw Formula E have all their full races from all years on their official youtube that is a brilliant idea.

Liberty should be aiming to get the races to as many as possible.

Agree liberty should get all Formula 1 races on the official YouTube channel from all years. Even if they could talk to Sky and get the races from 4 years and further back up there at least until the current contract ends. Surely that would not be a problem?

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

That's not going to happen when when they have a service already where they are charging €12 per month to access them on the F1 website.

The one that is going to be blocked here next year? Cutting off their own revenue stream

Yeah, they have said it will be available as soon as the current exclusivity deal expires. Can't ask for much better than that IMO.

The point was just that they won't be putting it on youtube when they have a paid service. Fe is different, they couldn't get people to pay for it, they need to build viewers first.

Coca Cola now on McLaren overalls for the rest of the season. Good for the Chandon hangover after each race winning session. :D

I’d like to see Coca Cola as a title sponsor

Coke should use this brand for the McLaren sponsorship:

    Tanora McLaren Renault.

That would have been good for Jordan post the Benson & Hedges era being Irish and all.

But even still on a McLaren it would look nice

Paint the Mclaren green and stick a 7up logo on it

Aren't you forgetting a certain fantastic brand? ;)

Also Ground Effect will be back with 2021, to help with overtaking. Not as extreme as 1983 with the wing cars, but unlike now where only parts of the underside are allowed it will be more space.

And Perez signs for Not Force India for 2019, a week earlier than expected.

Disappointing. I hoped he'd be dropped after his attack on Sirotkin.

Say what you want about Mclaren but that's a pretty big capture, one of the biggest brand names in the world on an F1 car.

Is this the first time that they have sponsored an F1 team?

Jordan used Pepsi in Japan that year, 7Up wasn't sold there.

    That's gas.

7up is a Coca Cola brand and Pepsi are rivals.

    Some operator our Eddie.
