Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi
Looking for some newbie help. Vaping for a couple of months now to get of the cigs. I want to try making my own juice. But I can only find 10ml nicotine at 18mg/ml on Irish DIY websites. I want my juice to be about 14mg/ml so correct me if I'm wrong but I'd be using the whole bottle of nicotine at that rate?? May as well just vape the nicotine base :) I see on UK websites they sell the nicotine base at 72mg/ml is it legal for me to buy this and have it shipped to Ireland (shipping is more than the bottle of nic but it would still be worth it). Will it be stopped by customs? Is there anywhere it Ireland that sells the nic base at 72mg/ml? Apologies if this is a stupid question - take pity on the new vaper please. Any help on this would be really appreciated,
    Cheers,
    Slick.

You won't be able to purchase any 72mg nicotine here in Ireland since the introduction of the TPD unfortunately, but, you can purchase it from the UK. I use these 2 stores frequently
    https://nicotinehub.co.uk
    and
    https://www.nicotineuk.co.uk
Use Parcel Motel for delivery here,it's faster than AddressPal and a little cheaper. Delivery cost will be approx £3/4 from UK and €3.75 upon collection here.
Customs inspection is a chance you'll have to take but to date I haven't had an issue and I've been using them for about a year now.
72mg nic is really your only option for mixing to a 14mg content as you will be adding approx 78ml of nic shots per 100ml of juice if using the 18mg bottles  leaving you with a flavourless bottle of slightly diluted nicotine.
If using 72mg nic you'll be adding approx 20ml's per 100ml's of juice to achieve a 14mg content.
The 10ml bottles of 18mg nic are fine if adding to a 50ml shortfill of 0 nic juice and you only require a low nic content.

Cheers guys for all the answers very helpful and very much appreciated.
Should I be buying a PG base nic.? Are nic salts better? What are nic. salts?
Also - I've signed up to Parcel Motel.
So how does this work? The place I order from posts it to the UK address. Then they send to a Dublin Location and then they send it to the delivery location I selected?? How do I pay the Parcel Motel is it automatically paid on the credit card I registered with them?
Again sorry for the newbie questions

Just top up your account with card or paypal,3.85 euros for each delivery.Just buy from UK vendors that gives you free shipping to the UK if possible,PM address is N.Ireland which is UK.Some vendors don't recognize N.I. as UK,they class it as off shore...

Forgot to answer your question about pg nic or nic salts...

Nic salts,I have never tried, somebody else can answer that...

PG Nic or VG Nic,I use both,pg gives you flavour & throat hits,vg will give you a smoother vape to the throat & also plenty of clouds...

Every mix I make is 80vg/20pg...with 72% Nic.
If I mix for DL vaping...it will be 6mg & using vg nic to give me that smooth vape.
If I mix for MTL vaping...it will be 18mg & using pg nic to give me more flavour & a better throat hit.

That's the way it's suppose to work,my opinion while using pg or vg nic,I find no difference between the two nics,vg nic is a pain in the butt to retrieve from the bottle because it is so thick.
PG nic is more watery & easy to pour or to use with syringes,I bought a bottle of vg nic last year, just to try it,once that is gone,it's definitely back to pg nic.

Others may find a big difference between the two nics but I don't...then again,I only mix solo concentrates,vg nic might be needed if mixing a recipe with more than one concentrate, others may respond more about this than what I know.

    Hope this helps...

What about everythingliquid.co.uk. They seem to be the cheapest for 72 nic. (500ml) Do you know if there's a problem ordering from them? Is royal mail or a courier service better?
Also for VG and PG should I order them from the UK as well seems much cheaper.
thinking of ordering from darkstar for the PG/VG - very cheap. Is there any problem with ordering PG/VG from the UK?
Lastly what's a good site for buying flavour concentrates from?
I've bought a load of empty bottles of Fastrek and a scales as well so I'm making some headway. Just need to decided the best site to buy nic pg/vg and flavours from. Thanks again for all the great advice.

I buy my nicotine from everythingliquid. No problems at all and well priced. Darkstar are great for concentrates and the vg/pg. Shouldnt have any problems with either.

    Cheers,
So I'm thinking 500ml Nic. and 2.5L each of PG/VG - is this amount ridiculous or normal? Do you know what the shelf life is on them?
What brand of concentrates do you get? Are the Dark-star own Brand any good?
I was also looking at the Flavour Apprentice and Capella? Capella Silver-line are cheaper are they lets say not good? Could you recommend a couple of concentrates for my first bash at this? (I know it depends on taste but just single flavours that are not likely to go wrong and put me of). Also would it be wise for me to buy things like Sweetener and the Smooth flavour? Are there generally (or standard) flavours I should have that go into/with a lot of things like Bavarian Cream or Graham cracker V1 or V2 (whats the difference).
Apologies probably stupid questions but I'd just like to get this as right as possible.
Thanks for the help very much appreciated.

Just a suggestion but if I was you it might be a good idea to try some one shot mixes first, you'll get an idea then for mixing and the per centages to use. These have a very good selection, you just add your vg,pg and nic.

I was thinking of just using other peoples recipes. Now I'm even more confused there's just so much choice of flavours. Whats the deal with the one shots? They are more expensive so I assume they are different flavours all ready mixed/paired for you? I just use 10% 15% etc of the one shot in the mix instead of a single flavour concentrates?
thanks very much for your help really appreciated

Slick with the one shots you simply add your VG/PG and nic and let it seep. That's it.

If you look at say the boss shots, the breakdown is on their website. Also check out some of the YouTube videos. There's feck all work with them.

I'd also recommend brew bros in the UK. They do nice juices. They'll do you 250 ml for 15 Inc nic.

Choosing recipes from someone else is fine, you'll have to buy each individual concentrate to mix your juice and sometimes you can end up with a lot of unused concentrate if you happen to dislike a particular flavour.
One shots come already with the pre mixed concentrate so all you do is add your VG/PG and nic.
Either way is fine and there's nothing more satisfying than enjoying a vape with a juice you mixed yourself at a fraction of the price of store bought juice.
I use 90% one shots simply for the convenience, I also follow a member here
on http://e-liquid-recipes.com and I keep some of his mixes with me at all times as they are top class.

Ask as many questions as you like, the only difference is manufacturing costs, the quality is the same.
When you get it just make sure it's clear.

It's all trial n error, what you like I might hate,a lot of us have dumped a load of liquids in the past,if you find that some flavours are horrible, try mixing different flavours together in small amounts of 10ml,if you like like it,make a record of it,if it's crap just bin it,it's only 10ml.

Regarding Nic,the best way to store it is in glass bottles or sealed glass jars & then freeze it.

Chefs own range of one shots are pretty good. You can get them here: https://www.chefsflavours.co.uk/88-chefsvapour-concentrates

Some of the more popular ones are Tickle Me Pink, Green With Envy, Blue Lush, YouJelly?, Mexican Fried Ice Cream, Nice Custard Cream, Welsh Custard, etc.

Check out Divine oneshots as well, like Fantastic and Keep Your Cool'a. E-juicemakers has some good value ones too that are good quality, have a Google and see what sounds nice.

So far all I've liked is.... Custards... and strangely peanut butter. I think they give more of a full vape cigarette feel if you know what I mean. Sorry I'm not sure how to explain that. I've only been vaping a couple of months (was smoking 40 Benson a day). I'm sick of sweet strawberry flavour and apple flavours. I've found the tobacco flavours I've tried are horrible. I'm not adverse to trying anything - I think its more that I need to find decent brands and more of a mix than single flavour. I'm finding it's quite expensive trying different flavours and brands that's why I'd like to be able to make my own.

Herself had the same problem last week. Email to say its in dubin on the sunday and another week to finally deliver to the box.

She emailed several times but heard nothing back and the phone number they give doesnt get answered. I have used them the other day since and it was very quick so Im not sure what the reason for her delay was.

Yeah i had a similar issue myself a while back and they couldnt have been more helpful and refunded the price of delivery because it was 24 hours late.

Thats why I was so surprised the way she was looked after

I always seem to be hearing of problems like this with Parcel Motel, and I've never used them for that reason.

I've never had an issue like that with DPD Parcel Wizard but someone that used to work there told me they're very rough while sorting packages in the depot and just throw them around. Could be the same everywhere.

Maybe AddressPal with An Post is worth a shot in future, I haven't heard any complaints there yet that I can remember.

No delays or missing parcels with PM,once my package is in their Dublin depot,it was always ready for collection the next morning, insurance offered...

I use DPD Express & never had a problem & there are so many different ways of topping up your account & parcels are covered with insurance...

AddressPal,I will never use them again, two parcels went missing at their UK depot,I had signatures but they refused to look into it for me,no insurance offered...

I've only bought plastic bottles online, but in a pinch for amber glass bottles I've gone down to the local pharmacy and asked if they have one or two spare. They usually give them for free, especially if you're in buying something else. Mention it's for vaping at your peril though! They don't want anything to do with e-liquid.

Got it. Its a straw colour??? Is this ok?? should 72mg nic in PG be clear???? I've stuck it in the fridge - not going to open until I get amber glass bottles to split it into.
and will any gloves do or should I use Nitrile Gloves?

Straw colour,it might be ok,pg/vg nic are usually clear, could be lower grade,I would contact them & ask...

Dont get me started (again :P )..absolutely dreadful...i,m waiting 3 weeks for a package that was delivered to them within a couple of days....PM can be as bad , lost a 250eoro package and all i got was 100....

I contacted them yesterday but haven't got a reply yet. Has anyone else bought EU Nic from nicotineuk and if so was it straw coloured?

Nicotine that has a colour isn't necessarily gone off, PG based nic can change to a pinkish colour and VG based can turn orange, this can be due to exposure to heat and/or sunlight. Always keep in a cool dark place and preferably in dark glass bottles.
If it has a peppery odour then I'd say it's going off.

My 500ml bottle from everythingliquid is open since last october and is nearly gone. It was always slightly straw coloured but has been perfect to my knowledge. Stored in back of fridge in a brown glass bottle all its life.

I'm glad others have had discolouring nic, first time I have heard of it myself ,I've only bought nic once,2 litres from Darkstar a couple of years ago & it's still clear.

Just received a 500ml bottle of EU stuff from them yesterday and it was straw coloured alright. I think it usually is. It's always fine anyway.

The Nic I got is PG based and is an orange colour. It does say on their site though that it should be clear. "It is a clear/natural coloured liquid, re-bottled in our own UK Laboratory to exacting standards". I've mailed them several times and can't get an answer. I don't want to open it if they'll replace it.

Discolored nic is fine, unless it's years old and wasn't stored properly. If it doesn't have a weird smell it's probably just fine it's just oxidized - this doesn't affect the strength of it afaik, but can affect flavor if it was going off. I had some that I decanted into smaller bottles from last year [as soon as you open a bottle of nic it'll begin to oxidize, there's nothing you can do about it] it turned amber over time, but it was fine. If it's going off you'd get a fishy/mouldy smell from it. Good nic has a scent, but you will know the difference. Fresh nic can have a faint nutty tobacco kind of scent.

Lads i have the mixing ingredients in front of me and was going to pull the trigger when i was in conflict as to how much nic to add.The two calculaters are saying 12.5ml of 72 nic and Grindle you say 16.6 nic to mix with the 50ml amount of juice, one calculater doesnt show how much seperately of VG and PG i need to mix to get a 50%PG - 50%VG finish seeing as though the nic i,ve got is PG based nicotene. Its 7.2 or 72 % cant clearly make out with the dot but its the strong stuff if that makes a differance : ) ,cheers.

What strength re we making? And how many ml? The calculator should include the PG nic in the 50% PG you require if you have it set up right. I only ever use this one here; http://e-liquid-recipes.com/create

Your nic is 7.2% or 72mg, 72% nic would kill a horse!

12.50 mg of 72mg nic will give you 18mg strength.
