Heard Nina Nesbitt AGAIN yesterday on Nova. Well, I guess that song has a guitar in it, so I guess it counts as guitar based music?

Never heard of her ,so....says it all really...

On 10 August 2018, Nina released her new song "Loyal to Me", which was produced by Fraser T Smith (who has also worked with Stormzy, Adele, Drake and Florence and the Machine)

Sadly when companies send in free records Nova (Hayes) cant resist the brown envelope playing any old sh1te....

Spotted this recently on my in-car radio....

I also believe that they play a lot of these new songs so their playlist isnt too much of a sausage fest. A lot of the new songs that they promote as the greatist thing since sliced bread have female vocalists.

    Sausagefest....😁😁😁😁😁😁

Does anyone know why the first hour of the breakfast shite sorry, show is repeated the next day? From 6-7am they play what was on the previous day from 7-8. Is this normal? Has Nova always done this and do other stations do it?

Perhaps Hayes is doing it on a trial basis, to see if he can get away with an extra hour in bed in the morning?

    Makes sense.
I Googled the term "sausage fest", it's very amusing. Bit suggestive but a funny way of looking at things!

they've actually struggled with the early mornings, weren't they late one time?

Not sure, Ash. But they should arrive late more often, say around 10am when it's time for them to go off the air. Let Liam Quigley cover for them. Hayes gets his lie in, we get Quigley on breakfast, everyone is happy.

Didn't it happen before that Marty and Dee were late, or didn't turn up? They put on two staff members with no radio experience, who, I believe didn't do too bad a job.

The Clint clowns influence in the downfall is being largely overlooked. Since he started the bull****e level increased, his movie reviews are great, they make me want to punch someone, if he gives anymore than 3 stars and avoid it like the plague.

It takes a real DJ like John Clarke to play The Trooper during the day. Won't get any of the other muppets doing that!

Last track by Wasp and back to Planet Rock to keep the good music flowing.

Meanwhile on the Nova side of things, I heard "Loyal to Me" AGAIN yesterday morning. Think I've been hearing Tom Grennan on the station as well.

The new breakfast show has put me right off the station.

On the bright side however, Greg Gaughran in the evening is a refreshing bit of radio, really good music played from start to finish last night. Also whoever was on Friday evening at about 11pm was terrific, it was getting pretty heavy whoever was in control.

Between those and Peter Devlin on Saturdays, there is a glimmer of hope. Greg should be running the show tbh! They should take the evening / night time playlists and just expand it out to the whole station, and get rid of the morning duo.

On Friday night it was Tony Ainscough on The Friday Night Rock Show. It's always a brilliant show - good music and a good presenter who does proper requests.

Shame the rest of the station couldn't be as good.

I remember that, I was driving to work at the time and we thought it was a stunt.

It almost certainly was a stunt; didn't the accountant take over? For the 6am shift?

    A likely story!

Best of luck to them with the bit of publicity like.

Think it's more like a pair of stunts....of the cunning variety....;)

It may have been a stunt then but for the past few weeks the first hour of the breakfast show has been a recording of the previous day. I'm in the car early some mornings and every time it's been a repeat.Repeats of the same jokes, the same conversations, the same callers and that little ****ing Holly crap.

I'm the same, don't listen half as much as I used, certainly never in the mornings anymore.
Nova are going to be loosing a lot of listeners or certainly their original listeners if they continue on their current path. The fact the repeat show is now on till 11am on Saturday's doesn't help matters either.

John Clarke is the only ray of classic rock sunshine on that station. I listen to an online rock station now.
