John Clarke is the only ray of classic rock sunshine on that station. I listen to an online rock station now.

There's Tony Ainscough on Friday nights.

No, thanks. I'll stick with the online one. I know I can depend on it to actually be classic rock when I want it to be classic rock and I can choose the subgenre when I listen. Good luck, Nova. You need it.

Of all the DJs on Nova, John Clarke plays the least amount of classic rock.

I love his show, but classic rock it is not.

"And if you have to question 'is it classic to me?' Well then it's probably not, and it should probably leave."

It may have been a stunt then but for the past few weeks the first hour of the breakfast show has been a recording of the previous day. I'm in the car early some mornings and every time it's been a repeat.Repeats of the same jokes, the same conversations, the same callers and that little ****ing Holly crap.
    Stop goddamn listening! :pac:
I've moved to newstalk now for the mornings, and never put on Nova anymore.
Afternoon if NT isn't interesting the iphone music goes on.

Even if she ain't exactly rock and roll, I know a lot of young lads who would jump at that chance.

Here's hoping Hayes doesn't get too many pints poured over him. 30 should be adequate. Anything over 50 would be excessive.

I might do. I was just curious to find out if it was common practice for breakfast shows on Irish radio.

Spotted this recently on my in-car radio....

    Nova playing illegal downloads?
I've noticed this recently on Nova. Not on any other station. It's very strange.

Certainly how any music I've downloaded in previous years appeared on various media devices. Strange indeed!

Is Keith from the 2FM breakfast show (always sounds like he's wearing big set of dentures) voicing the silly Nova ad's promoting the shows on the schedule?

Had 2XM on in the kitchen on Wednesday early evening, never get to hear that station because its locked away on DAB. There was a deadly rock show on at the time, music was tremendous. Shame this hasn't launched on FM, sounds like a pretty good station and exactly what a PSB should be doing. :)

But this is Irish radio..its essential that the stations all the same ..the BAI insist on it...otherwise its just choice anarchy on the airwaves...:)

Not content with inflicting the 2 clowns on our ears Monday to Friday mornings and then the so called 'best of' show on Saturday's we now must listen to their hilarious promos on every ad break. And just in case you missed it, after each news and sports bulletin we're reminded that Nova is the home of the new Colm and Lucy breakfast show. The sooner the better they leave and try to get the station back to what its supposed to be

    .

Ps. I won't hold my breath.

Stuck on Nova, couldn't sleep. First thing I heard was the fake DJ Track O'Whatever.

Do people really think that this crap is real and there is a live DJ spinning disks? It's just recorded phrases stuck in between songs to make it seem real.

    Colm wrote this

It's just a rip off of their other song.

Was listening in yesterday for the first time in ages and a bloody best bits advert comes on for the Colm and Lucy show where a caller rings in about his neighbour "trying for a baby"

It sounded incredibly scripted, and the fake laughter and clapping out of the two of them in reaction to the caller was just beyond pathetic.

It was not one bit funny, and completely overdone, it was actually juvenile.

I wouldn't mind if that was what he proposed to bring to the table when he was brought on board but he claimed he wanted to bring sophistication (his words) to the brand :D:D:D

he wouldn't know what it was if someone drew detailed pictures with crayons for him.

Traic O'Braonain. He used to do a Sunday morning show as Gaeilge on the station. He's a real person.

To answer your question, I think it is quite obvious that the links are pre-recorded.

for a man with Ireland's biggest jukebox, he seems to bring a lot of the same tracks in every week...
