I got the Augvape Intake two weeks ago and find it very good , easy to build and wick and good for flavour . No issue with chain vaping or leaking .

Yeah thats near the top of my list i think. Looks like it ticks all the boxes.

Have one here. Have wicked it a hundred times and cant get flavour anywhere near the ammit 25. I love the look and feel of the tank but its a pain in the arse no matter what way i wick or position coil.

Bit annoying as alot of reviewers that praised it cant stand it after a while and say so regularly in videos.

The Zeus can be a right bastard to build. Make sure you comb the hell out of your cotton, stay below 50 watts and it should perform well with flavour equal to if not better than the Ammit 25.

Thanks for that. What length do you let the wicks hang down?

A smidgen below the wicking platform but dont pack it in the slot as it will just compress the cotton and that leads to dry hits.

Ill give it another chance. Just found no matter what way i wick it its dry after 3rd pull off it.

Do you have coil parallel to the walls or inline with the wick holes?

Parallel works welll, insert coil as normal, positioned about half way up air flow posts Twist coil when secured so as it sits parallel to posts. Twist cotton into juice holes, rake it out and cut just below,a fraction, below deck.

As Bill said, you want the coil positioned mid ways parallel to the air flow holes and I'd suggest a 3mm coil with about 5 wraps.

I'm considering the Vandy Vape Pulse X kit as my first foray into squonking, any opinions on it? Seems fairly reasonably priced on fasttech pre-order with the MAP. Where is best to get a 21700? Also how do you clean squonk bottles, just put them in warm soapy water and give it a few squeezes?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 359 ✭✭black forest

Can ´t tell you about the Vandy Vape, but they have usually a good reputation.

For batteries have a look over to the Netherlands: Nkon.nl

Buying my stuff from them for years and they are very reliable. At the top of their page you can switch to english. If you buy 10 or more akkus of the same kind the price will go down quite a bit. May be you can get a few friends interested?

As í ´m in Germany P&P is around 6€ And it takes around 5 working days to arrive. You will find P&P to IE probably in their FAQ section. ;-D

Squonker bottles can get removed easily and washed and rinsed in lukewarm water. Not too hot as they could get deformed. ;-)

Have fun...squonking is a real different feeling. :-D

http://fogstar.co.uk are very good for batteries. That's where I've gotten my last few from. As far as cleaning squonk bottles? I don't bother. I'd probably just run some water through it rather than soapy water. Otherwise, you'll end up with residue from the soap in the tube.

I have the pulse 80w (bought from Dr Bill). It's grand for what it is, I don't think they've nailed temp control though. For a first time regulated Squonker it's perfect .

As for bottles, fasttech will have replacement bottles available. I picked up replacements for the 80w for less than 4 dollars each.

On the batteries, I use 18650.uk , great company. Flat delivery fee and theres a 5% discount code available. Do a quick Google search and you'll find it. They do a great blog on battery related items such as: https://18650.uk/trading-standards-falling-and-coming-soon/

    Hope this helps.

If you're looking for a decent entry into squonking check out the ijoy capo 216.

    https://www.evolutionvaping.co.uk/capo-216-srda-kit-by-ijoy.html

Dual 20700 or dual 18650 using adapter, 2 ijoy 20700 batteries included, I wasn't expecting much from the included rda but it's bloody awesome, comes coiled and wicked with what looks like a flatwire Clapton.
Bottle cover may not be very secure with the magnets but it's a small gripe to an overall excellent dual battery squonk kit.

Any body else chance getting coils on Gearbest. Got a stock previous of Nautilus mini coils and they were fine. Current batch ive got seem to be very poor, lasting pissing time. They come in official aspire boxes but im dubious of them now

Not off gearbest but I've gotten some uwell and aspire coils off fasttech in the past. The aspire cleito coils seemed legit, or at least as good as ones I bought in the local shop. The uwell ones were very hit and miss and sometimes an entire 4-pack would be useless. Also despite coming in identical packaging and being listed as authentic, the authentication code supplied in each pack didn't register as a legitimate code on the uwell website.

Thanks for all the advice but I went for a Vandy Vape Simple Ex kit in the end. I'm more into mtl anyway. I have a Vapefly Galaxies RDTA ordered as well so can try that out on it too.

One thing to note when you move to a squonker, is that your juice consumption will go up by a fairly big margin. I thought RTA's like the Zeus and Themis were juice guzzlers until I moved to a Pulse 80W with a Recurve RDA and that's only a single coil deck.

Anyone else vape eliquid which is not VG heavy? I look for liquid that is 50/50 or thereabouts, and it can be harder to find, especially for some of the more niche stuff.

Also not into dripping, but RBA.

    Mostly vaping Liqua, Halo, T-Juice

    Howdy.

My 2 istick 50w’s are starting to die off. Sticky buttons and battery emptying on a half charge.

I had one just die completely about 6 months ago too.

I’ve had them for about 3 years so I’m not too bothered.

My question is what should I replace them with ?

    I use a nautilus 5ml tank if that’s relevant.

I also vape usually at about 5.4w and never really go above 7.2w. Even though I vape at low watts I wanted the istick50 because of battery life and it was a decent size to carry my 5ml nautilus. I think I tried another mod at the time but with my tank on it would topple over too easily.

Interesting to read the above posts re the quality of the nautilus replacement coils as I feel in the last month or so that my coils are not as good as they used to be.

The istick 30w is pretty good imo. Not as good battery life as the 50w but lighter. I have a few of them and find them perfect for low wattage vaping, easily get 2/3 days out of a single charge. If you don't care about size and battery is all important then the iStick Power is worth looking at, has 5000mAh battery so should be better battery than the iStick 50w in a similar size/weight

I know Vapewild do three options for VG\PG ratio. The lowest VG is 50\50. Witchcraft are a nice company that do 60\40 but I can't think of any others that do 50\50 besides the companies you mentioned.

You could always try DIY. I usually mix things up with my VG at between 60 and 70 but I'll usually have a spare bottle or too of higher or lower VG in case I wicked a bit too tight or loose on something (on 50\50 right now on my Cleito RTA after wicking a bit too tightly).

Another option is getting a shortfill bottle that's around 60\40 if you can find one and adding a PG nic shot.

Just to mention the recommendation Dr Bill gave me on another thread: yaeliq.com

Delivery costs are high unless you're ordering over a 100 euro. I'm planning to order from them next week when I'm paid.

I ordered from an Irish online vape shop last week. I ordered a few times before and I found them to be good/quick with delivery.

I ordered late Thursday afternoon and I would have expected my package for Monday but it didn't come. It didn't come yesterday either. I sent an email to the shop yesterday but no response. I rang today and the manager was gone out for about 10 minutes and was due to phone me back but that didn't happen. My online account says processing. It's doubtful I will get it tomorrow. I sent another email today and still no response.

I paid with PayPal. Would it be too early to start a dispute over there on the matter?

    Esmokestore

It's from Cork, I think. I checked my account just there and it still says processing so I doubt In going to get mail today.

I'm going to wait until about 11 and if I haven't received a reply from my emails, I'm going to get onto PayPal and start the chargeback process.
