We very nearly bought a 5008, for cost/pratacality I thought it trumped most other cars.

I’m curious about 130bhp in a car made for carrying 7 people but I’ll stay open minded!

I thought the little petrol was fine with 3 adults. It's not in the 200bhp+ club but perfectly fine family car that feels very modern. Bought the Volvo from Peugeot garage : )

Went for a test drive today in the new Toureg in Frank Keane - loved it.
Ended up buying one, got a surprisingly good trade on my current X5 - was so surprised on the offer that I didn't bother to haggle :) .

I’ve a Peugeot 5008 next week... not quite an S3 though!

Drove one recently a few weekends ago. Was a 2.0, auto diesel. Wasn't bad at all. 6th was really tall, great yoke for cruising on autobahn..

Not at all kodiaq ish Imo..... verymuch more car than SUV in crossover land I thought.

Happy & safe motoring to you. When the numbers make sense there's sometimes no need to haggle. I was the same with the Sorento :)

Mark, you should try and get Audi to loan you this for a test drive review.
Would be one of the cars that would be a dream daily driver for me anyway

Would love it but for me it totally lacks the mean presence of the B7 model. Are any of the body panels different on that current version, i.e. beefier wings etc?

It would be nice alright. I’m still pretty much knocking on doors getting my stuff out there though so an RS4 is probably a bit too ambitious for me right now. Would be class though!!

Would you be able to get the new Q8? It's being considered around these parts to replace the X6 I'm always raving about.

Always had a thing for female motoring journalists reviewing cars I like, she's a nice looking woman.
Wondering is it her or the rs4 that gets me revved up though.

Nice lady but she's no Rebecca Jackson.

Yeah like the lovely Rebecca too.
She reminds me a bit of her though

I’m pretty sure almost all body parts are changed, definitely the wings are.

Great read, I've gone through all pages since Friday - can't believe I hadn't read before. Up to the 70th page I was thinking to myself, why doesn't someone suggest a Panamera, they're falling into good value territory at the moment. I haven't driven any of these new SUV's, however considering the talk of G30's, 6 series, CLS', I just wouldn't have considered in the same premium territory - aside from the X5, the only SUV I like the look of these days is the Volvo XC90. Any thoughts for a Quattroporte, definitely a unique car on the road - personally would love to buy an older Gran Turismo, I just love them and screw the pain of getting the kids in their seats?!

Porsche definitely something I’ve been thinking about, I would have to go back a few years compared to a 172/181 530d in early 2019 but not overly hung up on that.

What would put me off the panamera is the fact that they are strictly only 4 seats and are a physically very large car which makes parking and manouvering a pain.
Also if you go back a few years the tech inside will feel very dated compared to more modern stuff.

Driving this all week - a great car but our charging infrastructure is actually abysmal and I never realised it until I was in the position of relying on it.

Two spots on North Wall for example, one of them is a disabled spot so 99.99% of EVs can't use it. The others around the city are nearly all constantly occupied and the lack of super chargers is shocking, a few Topaz/Circle K garages and that's about it.

A real shame but not the fault of Nissan!

At least you were spared running into #rapidgate :D

Did you find the driving position comfortable? Especially the (lack of) reach adjustment on the steering wheel

I'd love to roll some lumps of coal at it.

How much for a leaf in that spec?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,928 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

    Thats lovely.
Only criticism I'd have is not mad about the seat design. Plain black leather would look great in that cockpit.

The most expensive Leaf with leather etc is €33,000 after grants etc

It’s funny you mention the seating position, I just can’t quite get it right particularly for my back. I’ve tried everything! The torque though :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,104 ✭✭✭✭drunkmonkey

Just throwing it out there as it's a little cheaper than the leaf, The new 5dr Fiesta ST3

I assumed you were testing the leaf tor your YouTube channel, not actually thinking of buying one.
Liked your 5008 review. Peugeot have really come on. The new 508 is a seriously good looking car too.
