You need a car for business why wouldn't it, got my last one through a similar scheme. They didn't seem to care as long as it was business related. It wasn't a "car loan".

Ok.. I was reading the terms as it was something I was interested in for a family member looking to expand their business and it seemed pretty exhaustive with conditions.

I just called my relationship manager and he sorted it all had the money in a few days without submitting anything. Give them a ring would be my only advice all the banks are doing it I think.

But it was a business loan? Not a personal loan.?

Yes a business loan. You need a car for business it counts. When I called last when thinking of the 335d they told me hold on as this loan would be launching.

Still thinking of changing really want to see what happens in the budget first, s3 still on the cards conlons had one but wanted 40k for a 2015, it's 12k more than buying the same car from the north.
Spotted this one seemed a bit cheap and it's got one of those magic clocks that goes backwards, had 40,449 miles in it's MOT in may and now it's only got 27,962 https://www.carzone.ie/used-cars/audi/s3/used-2014-141-audi-s3-quattro-s-a-dublin-fpa-201807188559854

Saw a Volvo s90 in passing today, nice looking car. How would they compare to the 5 series?

Just watched your Skoda superb review.
    Another really good job Mark.

One thing though that is a pet hate of mine and is very obvious in that red car is the visible painted metal around the interior window frames. Really makes the car look cheap and you would never see it on a premium interior, although Bmw have it now like that on the 2 series active and gran tourer.
What was the retail price on the sport line 190 superb?

Thanks man. Yeh it’s something I hadn’t noticed but do now that you mention it.

I’ve another part to stick on the front of that review actually, a kind of POV walk around inside and out, will see what you guys think of it. I can’t wait to do the Touareg one over the weekend it’s just an incredible car, thirsty though.

The Golf has been like that since the MK5 days. I agree, it looks cack, especially if the car is a bright colour as you say.

I’m guessing the one you drove is the one on Carzone in Pilsen auto for 37k so I’m guess mid 40’s new?
It’s no gap in price really to a bmw 520 or merc e class which are a class above really.

    Attractively priced imo.
They won't struggle to shift that.

Tech aside, the killer for me is that it justs looks too similar to the Tiguan which costs a fraction of the price.

Front could be mistaken alright. Tiguan doesn’t have engine though, it properly shifts. Hard to get your head around the fact that the same company build the Polo when you’re in that.

Toureg is definitely on my shortlist for replacing the x5 in Jan/feb. I’ve read / watched a load of reviews and some have mentioned some bad turbo lag. How did you find it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,287 ✭✭✭digiman

Has anyone mentioned an S5 hatchback previously?

I seen one last night in Enniskillen and fell in love with, stunning looking car, very fast and lots of tech. I'd say you could take a very fresh one in for around 55-60k, they are upwards of 85k new here, don't see any on Carzone.ie at the moment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,104 ✭✭✭✭drunkmonkey

I've brought up the S3 think it's a flexible car for a couple of kids with the load space and 3 isofix, test drove this one a few weeks ago https://m.carzone.ie/used-cars/Audi/S3-SPORTBACK-2.0-TFSI-310-ST-4/201808229746203
Test drove it at 30k thought the trade in price was a bit low so started trying to get it down a bit and the price went up to 40k, they had it priced wrong in BMW.

There is a bit of lag alright, depends on the gear you’re in too though and it’s a heavy beast of a thing but to be honest I’d forgive it, it’s a brilliant car, so much has gone into it. I dropped it back today and got into a new Subaru and the refinement levels were just polar opposites. I’ll have a review of the VW sorted later this evening hopefully.

I’d rather a Golf GTI or an R over an S3 but I do love the new model A5 sportline, I think they’re really slick looking. The boot in the Golf/A3 is not great though for my needs which could easily be a buggy, changing bags, a bike etc if I’m going to a park or playground etc

I rented one on Philadelphia in July. Compared with the 340i I rented last October in New York it left me very cold. Sounded good, went fast but just cold and clinical. I would recommend the seats though. Super comfy.

So is there much between this and the latest Audi Q7?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,446 ✭✭✭Wailin

On looks alone I would have the Tourareg over the Q7, interior and exterior. Both priced almost identically.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,104 ✭✭✭✭drunkmonkey

86k for a VW that's a 161 Porsche Cayenne for the Mrs and a Golf R for yourself.
Great looking interior just dislike the nose, hasn't got the look of the Audi or Volvo. It could be a Porsche from behind.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,828 ✭✭✭carsfan2

Lack of seven seats in the Touareg is a major omission.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,104 ✭✭✭✭drunkmonkey

I presumed it had 7.... didn't think I'd use them often but there probably used once a week now at least.

I'd love to see you review this, might knock some sense into me..

I just found this vehicle on Carzone.ie http://www.carzone.ie/used-cars/audi/s3/used-2018-182-audi-s3-sportback-2-0tf-dublin-fpa-201808289921574

Golf R nicer interior I think. A lot of grey space plus the decade plus old display on the screen. But... yeah she’s nice!!

I’ve a Peugeot 5008 next week... not quite an S3 though!
