Using dual SIM seems to be hammering my battery. I get a full day from it easy enough but before I was getting nearly two days. Might have a look for some reviews/comparisons and see what they say

Its a great phone and would be a huge upgrade over your G5. But if it was me I'd prob wait for the 6T especially since your G5 isn't exactly a terrible phone, I'm sure it'll do you until the 6T is out in Nov/Dec.

My moto g5 has no space, battery lasts about 3 hours so I really can't wait. I'm also heading away for a few weeks soon and need a decent camera and the Moto g5 is just not good enough

Yes, it uses twice the battery it would for the communications side of things.

Yep, I suppose I just didn't think it would have quite that high an impact

Different countries use different frequencies and protocols for wireless communications, most devices don't have antennas and software for every region. I don't know which countries use which standards, but maybe yes.

Not necessarily true. Companies can sell different editions of phones.

The phone will work. 4G might not.

Had the Vodafone ultra smart 7 a few years and and couldn't use it in Thailand. Not just data, anything. Couldn't call, send texts, nothing. Don't want that again after dropping 600 on a phone

You can't avoid it, that's just the way phones work, a galaxy S9 would be the same as the OP6 for whether it works or not and iPhones sold on Verizon in the US won't work in Ireland. It's nothing to do with the cost of the phone or quality, it's just luck, you can't fit 12 antennas into a phone so they have to pick some of them.

They can, but Oneplus don't at present. They used to, but dropped the practice a few models ago, so the statement is true in the context of the OP6

I see the OnePlus Wireless Bullets are back in stock. Anybody looking for these would want to jump on them straight away. Since they released, they've only been available twice for about half an hour.

Are they really worth the price, I have a similar pair of magnetic ones I got on Amazon for 20 quid. They're going fine 2 years later.

Nothing special really, only reason i bought it is because it uses the same USB type C as my phone, it's lightweight and can hang around your neck.

Also the dash charge, 10mins worth of charging gives you around 4 to 5 hours of use.

I'd be inclined to go with Jaybird Freedom. I've an older model for the last 3 years and the only thing I've had to buy was new ear tips.

Cheaper than the bullets as well which is nice and free delivery.

I’ve had them a couple of months now and so far they’ve been decent. Sound quality is good, but nothing special. Overall they are decent value for €69.99. I’ve ordered a second pair as backup.

Do they play and pause the music using the magnet or anything fancy like that?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,058 ✭✭✭Mookie Blaylock

Have the OnePlus 6 for about 3 weeks now...and love it..came from an S7 and it's light years ahead...even holding the S7 in my hand today...it looks like an old Apple iPhone 4s sizewise!..will probably need to look into the camera software a tad...in good conditions...it's very good...but lowlight...or fast moving subjects...not the greatest... anyone have any suggestions?

Yep they're fancy (as you say) in that way. They stop/pause when the magnets come together and you can control volume and pause via the in-line remote.

Notch looks exactly like the Oppo F9

No idea why people complain so much about the notch, doesn't bother me at all. If I could have an option to get a phone without a front camera though I'd buy it straight away. I've only used a front camera 5 or 6 times in the last few years.

I've €600 sitting on Revolut to buy a new phone so I'll be seriously considering this as an upgrade from my OP5

No need to upgrade from a OP5, it's still a decent phone :)

Add another 170 and get the Note 9 from eglobal. Otherwise wait for 6T or buy on Adverts. They are selling for 450 now on there.

Don't want a Note 9 but am considering the S9+.

Have had a OPO, OP2, OPX and the OP5.

I really hope the 6T has stereo speakers, if not I think I'll be looking elsewhere for an upgrade for my 3T

I'd be very surprised if it did.
