Yeah, I'd like that PM too if anyone doesn't mind. Total fear of missing out here

I've been having problems trying to sync sound to vision on my Nvidia Shield. I currently have the "Bouncing ball" set to 130 but I've tried all from 0 to 200. What has everyone got theirs set to? Or is there another way to sync the Nvidia?
    Thanks in advance.

You would need to describe your set up with regards an AVR etc being involved and is it HDMI over ARC or optical cables you are using

Just straight from Nvidia to TV through HDMI cable. I've changed the cable since I posted and it's much better. Just an old one I had lying around so I don't think it would be faster than the one I had in it. Don't know:confused::confused:

If its too dodgy to discuss on thread, then dont be using the thread to request PM to discuss the same dodgy material please.

I don't see what's inherently dodgy about Kodi or Plex as long as people don't ask/discuss add-ons or streams containing illegal content.

I think over-moderation has the sheeple spooked.

^ If nothing else, it's torture to read.
Could you not, like, request it by PM?

I'm keeping an eye on this thread in case there's a bargain alert on the Shield, though they've been few and far between..

    Cheers..

Only really in the market if there's a too-good-to-pass offer - maybe Prime day?

Edit: camelcamel shows a best price of £150.19 - have an alert set at that level..

What can you do In Kodi of Plex that isn't dodgy in fairness? They don't have much use outside of the dodgy aspects.

During the Winter Olympics Games the Eurosport Player app would not work for me, no matter what I did. It simply wanted to get GPS fix to make sure I am in allowed territory (understandable when running in a phone, but not in a setup box). Video was streaming fine though the browser though. So I installed Eurosport Player plugin in Kodi and enjoyed the above with nice interface. Eurosport got their subscription, I got my games... What's dodgy about that?!

I find casting web videos, exp. Youtube, Vimeo etc, much better when they play in Kodi too. I have Chromecast in the box, but find it awkward, while the "Play to Kodi" extension is excellent. Works from my phone as well, through Yatse 'share to' feature.

My old CD library is archived in high quality MP3 - playing them through Kodi or Plex is a breeze. I am old fashioned that way...

There are dozens of use cases when Kodi is legid. It is excellent software, overshadowed by the dodgy plugins...

I just recently bought a used 2nd Gen one from CeX.co.uk (B Grade; no box but perfect condition) with their standard 2 year warranty for £115/€130.

They still have some if any use to you: https://uk.webuy.com/product-detail/?id=0812674021164wocb&categoryName=tv-media-players&superCatName=electronics&title=nvidia-shield-android-tv-2nd-gen-16gb-%28without-controller%29%252C-b

By "No Controller" it means the Nvidia games controller, not the remote control.

It comes with the remote control as standard.

But, if you're still interested. I used my Xbox controller connected via Bluetooth for games :)

Can you use the xbox 360 controller wireless via bluetooth? That's handy. :)

Nah, the newer xbox one controllers have bluetooth built in. That's what I'm using.

Make sure TV and Shield are both off when you change the cable to allow the hand shake to happen correctly, alot of people change HDMI's when units are switched on which can cause handshake issues.
Also if your output resolution on the shield is set to 4K with HDR output you need a high speed HDMI to handle the bandwidth

Yeah, I'v set up a good few boxes and noticed that.
    Output set at 1080p @ 50mhz.
Think it's sorted now except for a few channels which means it's most likely a provider issue.thanks for your help

FYI Oreo update may affect keyboard pairing. If you are unable to pair your keyboard you must switch your language to US English. Support said they'll fix next release.

Got the shield, many thanks all for the advice in this thread.
One issue the sound, every time I change channel it lower to zero (before the last system update it was the opposite and went higher).
Happen to anyone? Is there a work around? Tried a few searches but dead ends.

Since the update my iptv app gives me some problems I didn't have before the update.

Live TV is still A1, but I have lost Audio from the movies and box sets on demand, it gives me an error when I try to adjust the volume. Something along the lines of the app settings are set to surround sound, and to use the TV remote.

Anyone know what this is all about?

What app are you using to watch iptv

Strangely enough this happens to me with Netflix. It forces me to use the tv remote to change the volume rather than the shield controller / remote. But it also did this before the update, I get the same message about surround sound.
