Round 4 qualifiers are on next week so it will be settled tomorrow. Extra-time and then onto the free taking if it's still level.

To be fair kildare got the home draw and they were well justified to push for it.mayo should do the same if in the same situation.an all Ireland final will hold 80k average but you would sell double that for a final if the stadium would hold them.

The all-ireland situation is completely different. There is no other stadium in Ireland that can house the demand. That’s not the case with Kildare v Mayo. There are several stadia, even within close proximity of kildare that can hold the anticipated crowd.

    Great news
Still no Harrison or Barry Moran ??????
That's near the end of Moran now . Always injured.
I look at our bench now and it worries me going forward. At least 3 players who bring very little to the table imo
It's a pity the year we found one or 2 extra bench options that we have lost so many players

if ever a post came back to bite his creator in the bollix this did

i personally think its a joke that so man mayo supporters should miss out on tomorrows game , the gaa need to introduce the same criteria for football counties as hurling counties , waterford lost out this year despite holding nearly 10000 more then newbridge while clare just about made the cut ,

needs to be a level playing field in both codes 15000 capacity should be the minimum required for next year across the board

I'd expect the GAA to make the necessary changes so they won't be in this situation again. Does it have to go Congress though to do it?

Seeing as they have been using the bluff of health and safety to change venue before being caught out this week, I imagine they will have to go to congress if they are going to try and change it.

I would not see them having a hope in hell at congress.
It would be looked at by the majority of counties in the same way as a second tier championship.
How many 3rd. 4th. or even 2nd. division teams actually need a 20,000 capacity ground for their games other than the once in a lifetime they draw one of the big teams ?
They would have better things to put their money into.

The GAA have been playing fast and loose with health and safety, making it up as they go along, and many counties are feed up with it.
Neither have they done themselves any favours with the Super 8`s with Dublin now having Croke Park for their one home game and at least one of their neutral games. Two in the unlikely event of Kildare progressing.

Really big miss by Durcan when he got that point. Goal would have killed it.

I think I would prefer it if we were 3 down at this stage.

Yeah but in fairness if Leitrim has a ground with nearly twice the capacity of st conleths, but the county only has a 7th the population of kildare. If leitrim can have that why not every other county??

Very questionable bringing in Loftus cold in the dying minutes.

    Vindication for #NewbridgeorNowhere I guess...

As well off losing at this stage.

That team just didn't have the legs for another run at the qualifiers.

Well done to Kildare, very disappointed but we looked a tired team all year. Time to give tired minds and bodies a rest, get the injuries cleared up, the  loss of Tom Parsons and SOS meant that we were always going to be up against it this year.

Well that my friends is that.

Well that’s it then. Could be a tough couple of years ahead now until some new blood rises up to the requisite level.

    End of an era.

Out in June for the first time in 8 years. Anyone else a bit relieved to get a break from it all for a summer?

Might be the end of the team, might be the rest they need to come back and have another shot at it next year.

i think its the end of Stephen Rochford too. Some strange subs, Loftus should have been brought in earlier and Donal Vaughan comes back for his first start of the season when the game is at a crucial point (not blaming him at all)
