2 Yes here, with a majority yes in my immediate family, and split on hers, with a few unable to vote.

Started a new job this week, with a mostly male staff, and went for lunch with them today. Some educated, some by way of experience, and a range of ages from 20 something to 40 something. It came up, they were all yes, ranging from soft Yes to emphatic Yes.

We weren't voting on 12 weeks, and the Op said it would be 12 weeks.

I don't see the Iona institute getting any traction.

Who are they and why do they get a platform on the media?

They should just accept the vote.

As for the legislation I think the proposalwill definitely pass as all parties are promoting Yes (except for some in Fianna Fail) so it's bound to pass.

There is usually just one if any at all, and all media club together for it because they are very expensive.

Actually he said it would be changed easily then to 0-24 weeks as if that is a given.
No government will introduce a 24 week window here, they’d be hung, drawn and quartered. Even yes voters would rebel against such a window.

It just makes sense to me that first trimester is when there should be choices, 2nd trimester is protected and only disturbed for medical etc. and by the time you enter the 3rd trimester that’s the stage where you can medically attempt a premature delivery so any question about aborting electively should be most definitely moot.

Voted Yes alongside my parents.

My 84 year old grandfather also voted Yes, which briefly surprised me, but he decided to vote for what he thought was best of his great grandchildren and their future.

What is wrong with doing that?

It's an important vote.

Every US Presidential election is ultimately decided by television exit polls.

Let's hope some of the yes side fight back, and fight dirty if needs be

Every election is usually reported by the exit polls, but it’s often days or weeks after the voting day that the counts are actually completed. The electoral college doesn’t formally vote in the president and Vice President until the Monday after 2nd Wednesday in December.

They get a platform on the media because rules state there has to be balance. Equal time for both sides. I think they're a strange bunch, they feel like a more media savvy Orange Order, without the Ulster Says No schtick, and not Protestant.

They frequently use underhanded tactics, and have dubious funding sources. I just don't trust them.

They can't, but I've seen a few 'independent' types hanging around Cork doing it today.

I voted No. Conscience is clear. I voted on behalf of those unborn who have nothing to do with the Hard Cases and should from day one have been left out of this referendum.

Yes of course. For women to have autonomy over their own bodies, to be treated as equals, to not be spirited away to another country in shame for another state to look after her when her own country won’t.
