Apologies I see the line about outreach ireland on it- just a sentence though. I’m going to call them to confirm they are involved and getting the money to her parents and I will gladly be donating then.

    Thanks.

That seems to be the same page. Where are you seeing it’s set up by Outreach Ireland?

I’m trying to confirm the validity of the page and that any money being raised (which is already sizeable) is going straight to her family. The last thing anyone wants is some other scumbag taking advantage which seems to often happen with Go Fund me pages ( I hope that’s not the case with this one but am following up to check)

Just found out this morning that he used to work on the same construction site as myself.

He worked as a crane banksman in Dun Laoghaire.

I dont remember him because our paths would not have crossed but others who recall him being there say he was as quiet as a mouse with a shy awkward demeanour. As ordinary as the next guy. Mad stuff.

Seems he might have been naturally very socially maladjusted and relied on substances, drink & drugs, which had a disastrous effect on his behaviour. As the guards say, there will no doubt be a history of violent events that might have not gone this far. He might have made hopeless attempts to give up the drink, it will all emerge. He might have been like an angel with his family at home, but then went out on drunken sprees of antisocial behaviour.

Part of me (selfishly) would like for them to have known each other. I am a female who regularly walks alone for exercise and the thoughts that some random passer by could abduct you in a car frightens the bejayus out of me :o

It's also on the Outeach website

    http://outreachireland.com/index.php/jastine-valdez-memorial-fund/

Don't know much about Outreach but did see the Philippine ambassador was over from London and was brought to a restaurant owned by Raymond Garrett. Fecking Irish charities :D

Anyway, not to take away from this, but I think the fundraising is genuine. Lots of papers running with it too.

Who knows. It's an indication of one thing though. You just don't know what people are capable of when the sh1t hits the fan.

I'm kinda glad to hear this in that it rules out some disturbing possibilities. I hope the note he left explains what happened.

Definitely legit. Also hear a guy from Outreach Ireland being interviewed by Pat Kenny on Newstalk earlier and the details for the page were given out.

Yeah, I mean the end result is still the same but for Jastines' sake I hope that she knew him and that she didn't have to go through extended anguish and torment. Still horrible, still dreadful way to spend your last hour on earth, but if it was my sister, knowing she wasn't at the mercy of some screwball for 24 hours before her death would help a small bit in the grieving process.

That's my perspective as an outsider, if it was my sister who endured the same faith I would wager I'd find it hard to distinguish between the two.

Did he return home on Sat night, or stay in his car after the pub?
Or maybe he stayed somewhere else?

Was he in a pub Saturday night ?

There is no evidence to suggest he was

But if they were known to each other, surely there would be no need to grab her from the side of the road ??

If you were going to snatch someone you knew then this is exactly what you would do.

Wait for them at the dodgy part of their commute home.

Posts are possiby worse than all the twitter crap combined.

Were the reports that the video of him in the pub confirmed to be taken on Saturday night? A few news sources saying it was :mad::mad::mad:.

Nicola Tallant on RTE made one good point about the abduction. The speed and precision in which he did it, could mean that he has done it before.

Very sad. Pure and utter scumbag.

    I doubt that

My theory originally was that he wouldn't punch her to get her into the car if he knew her. He would have coerced her in through a sense of ownership as in 'You really have no other option but to get into the car' and then sort of slowed up got out and ushered her in before she could realise that I probably should run here. However, if the speculation is true then perhaps he was more vengeful and that would explain punching Jastine. It ties into her time of death as well. I'm not sure if we can talk about it here, I mean it's a discussion board but I don't know what the line is between discussion and distasteful speculation.

Reported in the Irish Mirror and possibly linking the video to it.

I don't think you would do that at all if there was any sort of relationship between you. Apart from gang hits, hardly anyone gets snatched because there's no need if you know (are involved with) the other person. However if it was a sort of stalking situation, yeah probably then.

The video and pictures of him in a pub are not necissarly from Saturday, they are just him in a pub.

The article does howerver say he was seen in a pub Saturday, not sure how reliable that is, it's a tabloid after all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 76 ✭✭kingofclay

From the Mirror...'chilling videos emerged of him picking up the quashqai' He looks like an absolute creep but the video is hardly chilling.

Anyway, thankfully his kids are so young, they'll learn about it eventually but they won't have to grow up in the immediate backlash of the incident. Maybe for their sake and their mum, they should go somewhere and start afresh.

Still not clear as to how he managed to murder this poor girl at Rathmichael at around 7pm on a Saturday evening without anyone hearing something/ reporting this. Not exactly out in the wilderness, almost suburbia these days.

And 7pm feels like afternoon this time of year on a nice day.

Its not known if she was murdered at Rathmichael . Could have been Killiney Hill or any of the other places he drove to .

I'm guessing he had plans but once he realised he had been seen and was all over the news (assuming he had the car radio on) he panicked and decided to do what he did - Him not being seen near the gorse is probably fluke. I'd say 9 times out of ten, you would have been seen.

I’d say he is the prime suspect in the attacks in Shankill and Bayview last year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 76 ✭✭kingofclay

'Early 30's and skinny build' Only thing is the attacker wasn't described as short which this guy seems to have been. He looks old in the suit picture, but there is another picture much more recent and despite being balding he doesn't look like he's that old.

Why ? Does his description match that given by the women in their accounts ?

Or just simple dot connecting ?
