I've seen suggestions that she somehow "deserved what she got" because she was blackmailing him supposedly. There hasn't been a shred of evidence to support that. If anyone got what they deserved it was Hennessy.

That’s it. All the papers report the guards have found no connection between her and her killer.

Did he return home on Sat night, or stay in his car after the pub?
Or maybe he stayed somewhere else?

So, now because one person claims they have information they were having an affair. People take this as gospel.

Even if he did leave a note saying this, does not mean it was actually true. He could have hastily scribbled that as a way to try justify his actions. The guards believe she was dead within 40 mins of being abducted based on the sightings of his car (that was on 9 O'Clock news last night)
News also stated his DNA would be run against unsolved crimes, they could have reason to believe this wasn't his first time doing this, which might blow the concept of an affair out of the water. Unless he's had numerous affairs...

In any case an “affair” could be a man asking a woman out for a date, she realises what he’s like and that he’s actually got a wife, she pulls out of anything further to do with him and he’s not too pleased with the insult. I’m sure such a woman would not consider herself having had an “affair”.

Jeez Conor. That’s so below the belt.
Just when you think this thread can't stoop any lower, holy moly...

The same Conor who said the deceased could've been a prostitute/escort, although that may have been redacted. Just no decorum at all. You would hope it's naivety and not something more sinister or trolling, there's been enough of that on here already.

I remember about 5 or so years back there was an attempted abduction of a girl up in Shankill at a bus stop(up towards Crinken Glen) again, this is sort of the vicinity Hennessy lived in.

There was such an incident too up in Killiney, where American students were attacked on their way to getting an early bus to the airport. Not sure if the guards got someone for that.

Well I'm only going off what I'm told here and on Twitter.

    That’s your problem right there..

The mirror are reporting that he rang his wife before he died to tell her what he'd done.

That poor woman. That pr1ck left so many victims in his wake.

I'd wonder if it was suicide by cop. It happens in America. Force the armed guard to take you down.

His whole life would have flashed before his eyes when he knew he was caught. I'd say he didn't even think about the victim but how his wife and kids would feel, going to jail for a long time, probably having a very tough time of it. Did he produce the knife to force the guard to react.

    Mod note

theboyconor - banned, I didn't think there could be a worse comment than the last banning but sadly someone delivers

All please be aware a girl has died. She has friends and family that may well be reading this. Best to keep speculation to a minimum.

    From what I've read:
He was in the process of commiting suicide and the guards interrupted him. He had cut his arms and legs. He either lunged at a guard with the knife who was trying to stop him or the knife was taken from him as he tried to cut his own throat, he bent over to get something in the car which the guard thought was a gun and shot him.

Nothing of this seems the work of a serial killer, he was so sloppy it was like he wasn't even trying not to get caught

I wondered that as well, but would it not be a big risk to expect the Gardaí to have guns and to use them and ultimately kill him?

Yes I'd be of this thinking myself. Sloppy isn't the word.

**Something I have heard** he was was on the sex offender list for flashing public (the Dart) and was questioned in relation to the Shankill incidents. Possibly pure speculation

    This is standard operating procedure

preliminary PM results indicate she was killed between 36 and 48 hours before her body was found.

Actually this kind of sloppy points to someone who has done it before in some cases. Getting away with it a few times, doesn't consider it likely to be caught so doesn't think about hiding it.

If he hadnt got spotted, he likely wouldn't have been caught. His reported behavior afterwards (media reporting he went to pub) and hanging around local Sunday says he wasn't too worried till he likely heard the radio reports looking for him.

It's hard to think he was that sloppy on purpose but who knows what is going on in his head.

I wouldn't say the car spotted him, it seems to have been done brazenly right in front of witness:
“A man stopped his car in front of me and punched a woman. He dragged her into his boot.”

    this isn't true,
His previous convictions were in the papers all minor drunk and disorderly stuff. He was facing drink driving charges in the future.

    All minor stuff.

If he was a sex offender you can rest assured the tabloids would have danced a jig and blown it up and made claims that he was graham dwyer and larry murphys love child.

I don't really disagree as he could have been over confident .

But to use his own car....that takes some amount of brain fart

In that location, he was almost certain to be spotted on an average Saturday afternoon/ early evening. It's a busy enough road even mid week during the day.

But as for killing this poor girl, where did he manage that in the short time nearby? All those places like Carrickgolligan, Rathmichael attract a lot of walkers and people out for drives etc., partic at weekends. Surely somebody would have heard something?

This case shows how bad social media is and how people spout utter rubbish without thinking.

Within hours of the murderer being named we had people claiming he was at his kid's communion (oldest kid is 2), a mad liverpool fan (he wasn't) and working on a named building site (he was a QS not a bricklayer)

What people forgot to do is think - yep, there might be more than one person with the same fairly common name living in the Bray area where there are over 40,000 people in the greater area.

I think it might be just as well he is dead because his actions were so off the wall ie the sloppiest of abductions & murders, that I actually think he would have probably been found not guilty due to insanity or something like that.

    God love the poor family.

I saw on an article on the Journal today that there is a Go Fund me page set up for her family, how does one know if it’s valid or not? Ie that her family will get the money? I want to donate but am nervous it’s not a real one or they won’t get the money. We had this happen with another case in our community recently where loads of strangers were coming of woodwork to set up Go Fund me pages and the family had not requested it and never got the money..

    Thanks

Just found out this morning that he used to work on the same construction site as myself.

He worked as a crane banksman in Dun Laoghaire.

I dont remember him because our paths would not have crossed but others who recall him being there say he was as quiet as a mouse with a shy awkward demeanour. As ordinary as the next guy. Mad stuff.

    Unpixelated one.

    2nd video down the page.

    https://twitter.com/mulvey1980/status/998596977905586176?s=07

He looks like any random bloke.

I do get the fascination with him though. This was for everyone involved, including all of us, a completely random event. I can't think of anything similar in living memory. Even for a more populous country it's not normal. I, and I think most people, held out some hope that she might be found well although the longer it went on the less we had.

As fascinating as it it, and as humans we have a desire to talk about stuff like this to make sense of it, we should remember that the Ms. Valdez had family and friends. The killer too left behind victims in his own family. He had young kids who will have to grow up with this over their heads.

We should avoid reading too much into everything. I'm sure that because of our interest there will be a drip drip of salacious information from the tabloids.

    Thanks.

That seems to be the same page. Where are you seeing it’s set up by Outreach Ireland?

I’m trying to confirm the validity of the page and that any money being raised (which is already sizeable) is going straight to her family. The last thing anyone wants is some other scumbag taking advantage which seems to often happen with Go Fund me pages ( I hope that’s not the case with this one but am following up to check)

The guy from Outreach was on Nova this morning talking about this page. I would be as sure as possible that the family would get the money. Not much more you can do apart from setting up a page yourself. I'm going to send a few quid to this one anyway.
