    So leaving leinster academy:
    Jeremy Loughman(LH Prop)
    Oisin Heffernan(TH Prop)
    Sean McNulty(Hooker)
    Josh Murphy(Blindside)
    Charlie Rock(Scrumhalf)
    Ian Fitzpatrick(Wing)

Any idea when dev contracts will be announced? I'd be surprised if Murphy and Rock didn't get one. Is McNulty likely to get one or will they wait out for Kelleher to come through?

Had heard Sean o brien 3.0 will join Connacht if he isn’t offered Leinster, could Fitzgerald be getting a dev contract?

Any idea what’s happening Luke carty? If Fitzgerald and dean are joining Connacht that’s two new tens, carty to focus on fullback?

Rowesome was offered a contract with Leinster alongside Kevin Kyne of UCD

    fake news

Talk that Rowsome was a mistake, some other back three player joining Munster Academy.

Have heard cormac daly and Sean o brien will be offered places in the Connacht academy if they preform to a certain standard at the jwc, presume a “certain standard” means they’re not terrible

IQ, played as part of the Leinster development squad that played against the Ireland U20s back in December too.

O'Sullivan playing 15 in that video. Looks a good player, and would be a good catch consider the back three stock currently in Leinster's academy. Tommy O'Brien is the only one I rate atm, but Jack Kelly would have a lot of potential - I could be missing someone though.

Actually, just remembered there's Liam Turner, Tom Roche and Peter O'Sullivan competing for an academy place I think.

named in Ireland u20 squad but never played, was part of Trinity's u20 all ireland winning team but didnt play AIL afaik.

too small for pro backrow IMO.

Max Kearney’s only a slightly smaller than penny who’s coming in straight out of school in the same position.

I really liked Keenan. I think he'll make it. Not sure about Kelly. C.O.B imo will not make a senior contract and J.O.B is with the 7's.
A lot of guys moving on. It's a shame really.
Surprised that nobody has offered Rock a spot.

Rock is very small. I'm all about the underdog and being good enough at the basics to make it - but 5'6" and 75kgs is just too small

But he's the wrong age too. Not saying he's over the hill but there's a host of good prospects who are all 3 years younger than him.

Keenan is playing a lot of 7s. Not sure how much 15s he is going to get. Especially with our current back 3 rosted.

Kelly spend the majority of last season injured I think. A very good prospect but hasn't shown much to say he can cope at senior level. To be fair O'Loughlin make it most of the way through the academy with no hype

Some of those year ones are straight from schools aren't they?
    Penny
    Milne
    Is baird as well?

I think that Charlie Ryan will feel hard done by. Surprised he wasn't offered a spot. Could see him at another province? Same with Daly. Leinster letting a lot of potential talent slip thru the cracks.

There's only so many spots available

It's the nature of professional sport. There is no fool proof way to ensure that those you're selecting will go on to fulfil their potential.

While you say they're letting potential talent slip through, I look at who they're nurturing to succeed with great enthusiasm

People go on about Tom Farrell a lot and how Leinster released him. But look at how many academy players younger than him have been internationally capped since he was released.

I'd say Ryan will be offered sub-academy with the view of adding him in next year. Similar to his brother.

There's only so many full academy spots that can be awarded. We're lucky in a sense that we'd a fair few promoted to the seniors and a few leavers that we were able to give a couple players full spots straight out of school, but it's not the norm.
