Which is why I thought the relative lack of inclusion there was notable. It’s unusual at this stage for Michael’s to not have significant numbers in those squads.

yeah it's notable enough, but that age class isn't strong for Michaels.. unlike 20's and 18's.

Blackrock & Clongowes are strong at that class.

depends on how you define the sub academy, some view all underage players training with leinster over the summer as players in the sub academy during the summer.

then that number is whittled down in season.

It's very rare that it is ever formally announced , Players themselves are told and eventually that detail filters out , but it's very very rate there will be an official press release giving a list of names

The only time ive ever seen an official list of any of the sub academies was Munster's in 2010 when they listed their sub academy members in the programme for the game against Australia.

Saw Stewart Moore pictured training with Ulster’s seniors, so I’m assuming he’s part of the academy intake this season. I think Bruce Houston is in as well (not sure though), and some people speculated that Graham Curtis as been added. Anyone know anything definitive about Ulster’s intake this year?

Bigger need for Leinster at hooker, potentially quicker progression to senior squad at position for Penny when compared to openside, assuming he bulks up and nails basics of position.

Still it would be an odd move, should have tried similar moves with Max Kearney, Tom De Jongh, Alan Francis etc. but didn't.

meh, the website is often inaccurate.. we will find out if it's true if he plays hooker in u20 warm up games etc.

I doubt it's true tho.
