I'd almost add Antonio Garcia and Derek Rivers as new additions too, seeing as they missed last year.

Garcia in particular intrigues me - a couple of draft analysts I follow had him as the top rated tackle in last year's draft. Hopefully he can pile back on the weight and regain his strength for this season. With Marcus Cannon nailing down the RT spot, it'd be nice to see a training camp battle between Brown, Waddle, Garcia and Wynn for the LT spot, though I'd expect the latter to start off at guard for us.

I agree about Garcia dude had bags of potential before his sickness. Apparently he has been piling the weight back on and working hard in the gym so if he regains his weight and can find his previous form he could be big for us.

Been very happy with the work done the past week, looking forward to pre season/kick off even more :)

JRG is going to blow his load as are ESPN. Check out TB speaking at the milken institute conference. When asked about being appreciated at work he said he pleads the fifth and everybody wants to feel more appreciated at work. Also felt he wished Butler had played. Love it.

Not ideal that's what first came out of Brady's mouth but he did followup/backtrack with

I left all that out because you know these guys don't care to read the actual facts and whole conversation. They take from it what suits their agenda. ESPN's article has already taken from it what makes things look bad.

There is even more context that has come out. This is the full question he was asked:
.When Gisele says feel appreciated, this brings to mind coach Belichick and Mr. Kraft. Do you feel appreciated by them and do they have the appropriate gratitude for what you've achieved?

Its entirely possibly he was deflecting with the plead the 5th to avoid a question brought up by his wife.

Initially i was a little shocked by the headline but when you get the full context, the comment is mostly harmless although it won't play out like that in the media.

Yeah he said nothing wrong it was cringeworthy but he didn't say anything bad. But ye know ESPN and JRG wont see it that way. There is video of the whole conference and his interview I watched it yesterday. Video too big to post but here is a few shorts of the main pieces:

One thing he also did say was he negotiated 2 years of playing with Gisele. He didn't clarify if last year was one of those years. He also did say his personal goal is mid 40s which he has said before and confirmed such with Mike Reiss yesterday. So looks like we have him for at least 2 more years.

There goes that idea. Garcia released today.

Surprising I wonder if his road to recovery is too far out

    Classic BB :pac:
Question: “Did the absence of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski slow down your progress at all? How did that affect what you’ve been trying to do?”

BB: “The OTA system is voluntary.”

Question: “Did it affect the progress of what you’re trying to do at all? Did it have any effect at all?”

    BB: “It’s a voluntary program.”

    Follow-up: “That’s not what I asked.”

    BB: “Well, that’s the answer.”

    Love it :)
Win or lose, Bill has remained himself. People will hate/like him for his style; but he has stayed consistent.

Had to laugh at Edelman today saying Tom is an intimidating SOB out on the practice field. Seems to be pretty fired up

Was there just a dearth of stories this off season that the continuing noise about Gronk/Brady not at OTAs was being hyped up to the last. And then the "relief" that they showed up this week. I genuinely could not understand the sensationalist persistent news reports about it. I dont know if it is a case of filling air time on CBS/ESPN/NFL network etc or what, but it's utterly tedious and awful stuff when no one at any stage had any doubts they wouldnt be back once proper training started.

The off season. It's long. It's generally boring. So anything is snapped up.
A certain Broncos fan loves those type of articles that bait the haters; it's what they live for.

Obviously it is the off season and news is slow but the actions of both Brady and BB over the last few months are certainly worth the coverage.

For years the Patriots, and Brady and
Belichick in particular, have been held up as the most professional, the most dedicated, the most prepared in the league, and because of all of that they have been so successful.
They leave nothing to chance, they find so many ways to win, they are first in in the morning and last to leave.
They did everything right, every time.

But all that seems to be changing and big questions are emerging.

The trade of Jimmy G for a bag of balls.

    The benching of Butler.

Brady's non appearance at non mandatory OTA s, something that has never happened before.

The realtionship between Bill and Gureero (sp)

All of these are big deals because they are not what you expect from those people and that organisation.

I know a lot of Patriots fans would prefer to ignore it, but something is not the way it was and never will be again.

Its amazing that a clubhouse in such a mess was a play or two away from winning the Super Bowl. Big deal is a stretch. I'm sure there are some minor-ish issues but to say they are getting blown way out of proportion would be an understatement.

ESPN was reporting that Tom Brady was retiring at one point lol

Maybe something has changed but we will never truly know if that is the case so why bother going on about it or even caring about it? The biggest problem with the Pats is that nothing gets out until recently and a **** storm happens but that **** storm for the Pats is normal every day activity for every other teams for the most part. If this was any other team no one in the media would care and non fans of that team wouldn't care and neither would most of the fans would care. But because this is the secretive Pats here we are discussing it.

I don't see the Jimmy G issue being a big issue. He was due a big contract and the Pats with Brady around were not giving it to him. Bill took a chance holding on to him longer than he probably should have. Might have been better off trading that off season. We would have all like to keep Jimmy but we couldn't and you can't dump Tom. He has shown us why.

Butler thing yeah for me is a big issue but we will never get a reason and comes down as another good/bad coaching decision.

The OTA thing is a non issue. I don't buy into Oh well he always went before so there must be an issue now. He clearly had other engagements going on for most of it. In fact he was out of the country for parts of it.

Bill and Guerrero I could care less about and I think is a non issue. Bill is right to ask Guerrero to get off his field and out of his locker room. Tom and Guerrero should know better as professionals.
All of these are big deals because they are not what you expect from those people and that organisation.

And this is the key. As I said in the first paragraph enter another team name in the conversation and no one cares.

All of it all blown way out or proportion for me.

It seems funny how most NFL players test positive during the offseason.

Not overly bothered tbh, gives him more time to rehab.

These cases are always most common in players returning from major injury....
Must have taken something to help with recovery

Plot thickens for Jules. Banned because he tested positive for an unidentified substance. Yes you read that right Unidentified substance. I wonder do the NFL cover that in their rules with drug tests if they can't pinpoint the exact substance can they ban you for it?

Strange. Might have been more prudent, given the time before the season actually starts, to let them continue their tests and try identify it. Competence is not the NFL's strongest suit.
After they conclude all possible testing, and it's still unidentified, I would't be against the required 4 game ban (or halving it maybe). Perhaps that's a bit rough on Jules (first issue and he's 32yrs old), but the NFL is too weak on PEDs already (and I don't put it past any of the guys).
Was checking out the money he's gonna lose, serious amount.
