When someone recovering from a serious injury like an ACL tests positive for a banned substance, to me it's usually "guilty until proven innocent". Not sure how an unidentified substance fits into that narrative, but I'm still skeptical.

Hopefully it's not something that Alex Guerrero recommended or ESPN will have headline content for the next 4 months.

You have gone and started the rumour now :pac: ESPN have already found your post and will run with it.

The No fun team decided to cancel all remaining OTAs until Camp Starts in July.

Watch the media spin this one as the world falling apart

Plot thickens for Jules. Banned because he tested positive for an unidentified substance. Yes you read that right Unidentified substance. I wonder do the NFL cover that in their rules with drug tests if they can't pinpoint the exact substance can they ban you for it?

    Doesn't seem that unusual...

Who said it was unusual? But you missed the slight sarcasm in my post. I find it funny but at the same time had no idea you could be banned for something they cant identify.

I'd imagine it could be a Balco type situation, where he could have been using a designer PED that wouldn't register on a normal test?

I wouldn't worry about that. Alex Guerrero is probably the last person to be recommending PEDs to a player. And he wouldn't be a core part of team TB12 If he was.

Nothing more than idle offseason filler IMO.
He'll play another 2-3 seasons minimum. NE wouldn't have traded 2 potential starters this year if he had indicated anything other.
Absolute minimum he'll have stated would be 2. 1 year to the next draft and another year to redshirt a potential replacement.

This season will be his last.

I get the feeling he would have rode off into the sunset if we beat the Eagles. One last shot for 6 and done I think.

For us to Keep Jimmy Brady would have to have retired at the end of the season just gone. Only way we could have paid both.

Remember Brady doesn't care who they replace him with and the Patriots had to roll with Jimmy or Brady post Superbowl 52. Brady indicated he was going to play a couple of years so Pats traded Jimmy. But like anything things change and Pats fans need to stop banging on about the what ifs with Jimmy. He is gone move on.

No one waiting in the wings in New England so no drama with a backup taking over and the team dumping on the Star QB. Brady will move on gracefully most likely. Or if his dad's prediction is right maybe it will end badly between Brady and the Patriots. Either batten down the hatches the JRG of this world are going to be trollin.

I can't see 3 seasons. I reckon his performance will drop off a cliff either this season or next.

His game style is handy for an older player. He just needs to read the game with no reliance on arm strength or pace that might fail him as he gets older. He also eats decently and appears to be relatively lucky in terms of genetics on this one. However those hits keep coming and the body is not what it used to be.

I was very surprised Brisset was not kept as an understudy. BB has to know it is coming and he won't be able to predict when Brady will start to fail.

Brissett was a likable guy, but I haven't seen him do anything in Indy that suggests he's capable of being an NFL starter for a team with high aspirations. He's a good backup - maybe on the high end of backups - but I'd be surprised if he amounted to much more than that. Granted, time is on his side.

Brady has shown no signs that age is catching up with him to this point.
The work he puts in is insane. 4.30am start to his say with a lot of stretching which he believes is the key to keeping himself in shape.
I love the way people keep calling his demise every year. It's guesswork but I suppose if you keep calling it you are going to be right sometime and you won't hear those people saying they were calling it for 5/6/7/8 years before they got it right.

Possibly they saw enough to see that keeping him was pointless.

I agree with Eagle that people keep calling his demise every year. I am certainly not calling it for definite this year or anything. I mean I think everyone agrees it will happen and some of the timelines (didn't Brady say 5 years?) seem unrealistic. Certainly in this sport where serious injuries happen, a bit of bad luck and that is the end of Brady. Especially at this point. The man puts a lot of work to stave off age as long as possible but it will catch him and the Pats don't have a good plan in place to replace him (granted the Broncos didn't have a good plan either but it has not worked out for them).

Remember Manning had one incredible season and then dropped off a cliff entirely? OK injuries were part of it as was arm strength. I expect Brady to keep his insane level for a bit.

Manning had a neck injury, and then a (afair) further injury in his last season.

Brady doesn't really rely on arm strength or being mobile beyond a couple of steps here and there in the pocket, he's not going to fall off a cliff the way peyton did. They play(ed) a different game.

If TB wants to he could play till 45, I'm sure of it. But whether gisele and the calls of family life will let him is the other thing.

I agree with those saying Brady wont fall off a cliff anytime soon. He has shown no signs of it at all and seems he is in better condition than he has ever been. Could he get injured with being hit over and over? Sure but that is no different to Brady 10 years or any QB for that matter.

I do believe he will retire after 2018 though.

As for Brisset he needed a lot of work and it was better to get something for him than waste time working on him. Given at the time they though Jimmy was the future.

Fun I think. Belichick is like a school principal where as Amendola now has Adam Gase as HC, who he says is one of the guys. At this stage of his career Amendola appreciates Gase's approach. I guess he'll appreciate having January off too.

On the other hand James Harrison has come out and said that as a coach, Belichick wipes the floor with Tomlin. Also, he didn't notice and Brady-Belichick friction, and Brady is the nicest guy ever.

He has two rings thanks to The Principal
I'm fine with Danny and others venting if they wish. Bill runs a tough ship, it's not easy (it's not meant to be), but winning is more fun than anything else

Strange, you would think winning Superbowls would be fun. Sure seemed like he was enjoying himself during his time. Possibly his comments taken out of context? Sure look, either way doesn't matter. He contributed well after an underwhelming start to his career at the Pats. Made some big time plays and proved his clutchness. Tasted the ultimate success along the way, best of luck to him.

Sony Michel suffered injury at practice camp. If it’s his knee have to doubt he’ll comeback and a waste of 1st round pick
