Unless of course your thinking something further down the betting? In which case im quite intrigued.

Ivanovic gorbatov is the one I'm thinking of mainly. Back on decent ground at long last and I expect a big run. Houses of parliament very interesting too on decent ground seeing as with the jockeys claim he's running of a mark ridiculously lenient in comparison to his flat mark(which was achieved on good ground).

Monalee has to be a big price at 9/4, best form in the race, beaten most of them before...

If douvan didn't run at Cheltenham last year and had 1 run at Cheltenham since then he would be the same price against this lot.

Also he fell 4 out. I'm not sure how anyone could say he would have won. There was about half a mile or more to go.

he had half of them in trouble at that stage including altior, away and gone he would have been by the time altior hit top gear

Yeah i'd fully agree. Expected 7/4 or as low as 13/8 so i think i'll have a go at 9/4.

Lot of rain in Dublin city centre over the last hour or so, wonder if Punch is getting any of it?

Interesting, wouldn't do Ivanovic any favours.:(

Ivanovich Gorbatov is gone at the game.

    My picks for today:
    Sharjah and Draconian
    Bunk Off Early
    Finians Oscar

Douvan being the only horse they want to back in the Champion Chase it seems. Its odd that it was quite the opposite at cheltenham where he was friendless and Min was smashed.
If Min drifts any further i think id be a backer each way maybe if someone stuck their head out at 4/1 or possibly 7/2

Keep hearing this but the last time he encountered decent ground he was beaten 3 lengths off 150 in a county hurdle. His runs this year he's hated the ground and i'll be surprised if he doesn't run a lot better race today than he has been as long as that bloody rain doesn't get into the ground :o

Staying loyal to one of my Chetenham bets and will be having a dabble on Paloma Blue in the 4.20 @ 6/1.

I trawled through the form of this next race last night. To probably my detriment as i didnt really get to much study on any of the other races. But i was able to get on with Ladbrokes paying 1/4 first 5 in shop so it was going to be worth it.
I came down on Joey Sasa. Simply couldnt get away from him. I had the shortlist down to about 6 but i just thought he has the most blatant claims of them. He has drifted slightly on BF which i am not to worried about and i just cant see him not having something to offer here.

That was gutting. Winner got first run and just always holding him off. Small profit all the same.
Will call it a day at that unless i get that 7/2 on Min which is looking unlikely.

Next race full of Elliot and Mullins runners, sad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,268 ✭✭✭TheRiverman

RTE racing coverage is way better than ITV.Brian Gleeson sounds so normal when he hasn't to work alongside the awful Matt Chapman.

And Davy riding for HDB and Jones! I think Ordinairy World has a great e/w chance here.

    Hope he wins

Doctor Phoenix hit 40's on betfair there about 5 mins ago for small cash. Back to about 33's now.
Fairly worrying for backers of him.

What a horse UDS has been for the O'Connells. Great ride from Patrick. Jumped like a buck.

Douvan admirable back in second. Possibly bounced, possibly just not as good as he was?

    He's gone as well unfortunately

Pretty poor from Willie to not send uds to the champion chase again, there's no shame to lose to sprinter sacre

Douvan like Faugheen maybe lost the turn of foot that seen them power home. I think Douvan will relish a step up in trip.

Nothing to do with a turn of foot. Lack of a proper run this season and letting the winner get an easy 6L with 4 out.

Why would it not stand? What did the winner do wrong? Harsh but that’s racing.

He looked behind. Did one of the others tell him go around the fence
