Yep is indeed. I thinking owning a CX - even for a brief period - should be mandatory ;-) . It’s such a different driving experience.

I had a '78 CX once, it went on fire, never bought another one, suprise. Maybe '88 was better.

Vrt is guaranteed €200 euro once you wait for the right month in 2018 i.e. 30 Years old , and the vintage tax then explains the price premium.

Edit; it'll need to be stored overseas til aug 2018

I don't think you can charge a vintage premium for a car that isn't vintage for 8 months.

Most people aren't going to be interested in arranging storage but are going to want a car to drive now without getting impounded.

Hi Anyone have rear seats for Pajero Mk1 swb for sale

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,280 ✭✭✭commited

    Hi folks,

Thinking of selling 2 of my current fleet as I just have too many cars on the go.

    1978 Datsun 260z 2+2
I bought this back in November 2009 in the UK. This was the PO's daily driver and was solid and ran great, if in need of a bit of a paintjob. I used it for a few months and then stuck it in my garage. Colour is burnt orange, has a 4-digit ZV plate and is NCT exempt. It's not a concourse car, nor could it ever be and it needs a bit of welding after being left for the guts of 9 years (drivers A-pillar, inside, and passenger floor has a split) but it's not in bad nick. It has a fabric sunroof, which I believe is the same as an MGB and this needs replacement (but isn't leaking). Interior needs a bit of work, steering wheel needs to be recovered and needs carpets fitting. Car is original throughout and has ducktail spoiler. Car had an intermittent misfire when parked up but when started in 2015 it was grand and ran like a clock! Be under no illusion that this is a show car, it's not but it's a very cool. I have pics and a video of it running from when it was moved in 2015 if anyone is interested.

    1985 Golf GTI Mk2
119,800 miles. ZV reg. I bought this car in January 2016 as I’d always fancied one and liked that it was one of the earliest typ19 examples that I’d seen and that wasn’t modified. This car was a 2 or 3 owner car and the PO had owned for about 20 years so I bought the car blind and it turned out to be a bit more of a project than I’d anticipated. On inspection, there was some rust in the rear quarters, so I made a decision to do a full “functional” restoration, including cutting out and repairing all rust and performing a complete suspension and brake overhaul. This has been completed and it comes NCT'd and taxed to Feb '18. Happy to stick it through another NCT (and most likely will in the next week anyway), the previous tester was incredibly complimentary of the underside of the car (which isn't surprising considering everything is new!)

Apart from upgraded springs & shocks and a 90s headunit, the car is unmodified. Standard springs are included as are a lot of parts.

Quite a high specification for an early GTI
    Ultra rare Economiser and MFA
    4 x electric windows
    Manual sunroof

Parts replaced in last 500 miles:
    Timing belt
Oil & filter, Air filter, Fuel filter, spark plugs, wiper blades
    Gearbox oil
    Coolant
    Power steering fluid
    Brake fluid
    Exhaust
    All Engine mounts replaced
    Full suspension overhaul including:
    Bilstein B4 shocks
    Eibach springs
    F&R strut mounts
    Tie rods
    Rear beam bushes
    Control arm bushes
    Rear wheel bearings
    Stub axle
    Balljoints
    Full brake overhaul including:
New rear calipers (upgraded to mk3)
    Front calipers rebuilt
    Power regulator
New discs & pads all round
    Brake lines
    Brake hoses
    Battery
    Boot struts
    Heater matrix
    Gear selector rebuilt
    Rocker Cover gasket
    Osram nightbreaker bulbs
    ISO connector & Blaupunkt HU
    New indicator stalk

    Bad:
    Crack in dash
Drivers seat cover to be replaced (included)
2 windows don’t work – 1 due to motor, 1 due to regulator
Some patina, ideally the car could use a full respray.

This is a very well sorted car mechanically and structurally which just needs some cosmetic work.

PM me for more information on either.

Wanted mk3 golf gti. Looking for a clean original example. Would prefer a 16v but would consider a 8v version. Willing to pay the right money for the right car.
Good ones seem to be very scarce on the ground. Only seen one decent one but thought I'd put the word out here before I made contact, thanks.

Thanks for the link. Yes it's worth saving but not by me I'm afraid. No interior pics so I'd imagine it needs a lt of tidying, just wouldn't have the time nor patience! Looking for something ready to go.

    This one perhaps?

Or join the UK E28 owners FB group (if you are not already on it), might be able to help you out:

Unfortunately that one is rotten all over so only suitable for a few parts.

I'm on the fb page but getting what I need sent from the Uk without seeing it in the metal is not really an option not to mention shipping.

There must be a couple of shells around the country that need a lick of an angle grinder.
