Still looking for a bmw engine block for a coffee table... Preferably a v but a six pot would do with four pistons ( out of anything!)

Couple of Irish brochures for sale after a clear out. VW, Alfa, Volvo, Honda and some more than I will go through. Lots of UK stuff too but I'll post those on ebay UK where there might be a bit more interest.

-Alfa accessories brochure for 145 146 156 GTV and Spider, about 40 pages in excellent condition.

-Alfa 166 body colour and trim brochure, in English, Italian, German, Spanish and French but Irish supplied. Also in excellent condition

-Honda Legend technical specs brochure, a salesman gave me this when my Dad bought a Legend new in 1999! About 30 pages.

-Volvo technical specs brochure for 740 and 760 estates, Irish market and about 25 pages. Good condition for its age, a couple of creases on the spine but no missing pages or tears.

-Volkswagen "souvenir magazine" celebrating 50 years of the marque in Ireland (1950-2000) in excellent condition. This is a really excellent read. About 20 pages.

I'll dig out and post more if this is okay with mods. The above are €10 on account of their condition bar the VW item which is €20.

    Thanks

I'm looking for a door moulding for an XR2i. I don't think they're handed, so either side would do. Just looking for one.

    Hi all
Doing a resto on an mr2 mk1b at the moment, I bought a 1989 donor car with a low mileage engine running excellently that I will be stripping over the next month or so, time permitting. If any one is looking for a few bits and pieces give me a heads up. Boot, exhaust, bonnet gone already. Im keeping the seats (leather :D) At the moment it looks like engine, box, doors, alloys with vg tyres (non standard) engine lid, lights etc Donor is a sunroof model. Will update when I start stripping.

Right, I've debated about this for long enough and I've bitten the bullet. The Escort's going on the market......

    Photo-7.jpg?dl=1

    The details are
    • 1977 Ford Escort 1.3 Ghia, in white with black vinyl roof.
    • 2 Door RHD German built car,
    • As it's a Ghia, the car was factory fitted with the 1300GT engine
    • First registered on 26th Jan, 1977. First Owner had the car for 28 years before being imported.
    • Family owned since importing
    • Extremely rare as it's a 2 door Ghia, not the 4 door that most of them are

    Good points
    • 60K miles from new
    • Detailed Service history file including original handbooks, original receipts, etc
    • Matching number car (original engine, gearbox, back axle, etc)
    • All original green tinted glass, including windscreen. All etched with the original UK registration number
    • Original Black Vinyl Roof with no cracks or damage
    • Original interior/seats/etc
    • Garaged and stored in a Carcoon when not in use
    • Not used in the rain/salty roads for the past 5 to 6 years.
    • Original two keys and dealer keyrings.
    • On 13 "Minilight" replicas on 155/70R13 tyres
    • Original wheels included, not used since restoration.

Original Engine rebuilt with the following modifications/upgrades
    • a +60" overbore,
    • oversize 9.8:1 compression ratio pistons,
    • ARP bolts throughout engine
    • BPJ Services (UK) ported and polished the original head to their "mild fast road" specifications
    • Head converted to unleaded
    • BPJ Services matching Piper Cam
    • BPJ Services Steel rocker posts
    • High flow/high pressure oil pump
    • Balanced rotating assembly
    • Weber 32/36 DGV set-up by McNamara's Dublin
    • H&H Ignition distributor to match the head/cam/compression ratio
    • ITG air filter
    • Magnecor ignition leads
    • Black Silicone Hoses
    • Big wing sump
    • Adjustable timing chain
    • New water and fuel pump
    • New clutch and starter motor fitted at the same time.

All original Ford Metal except for Front Left wing changed by Godfrey Davis Ford (supplying dealer) in 1979 (receipt available) and Bottom of front panel repaired 3 to 4 years ago

Over the past few years, the following was changed for o/e specification items
    • Window rubbers
    • Master Cylinder rebuilt
    • New front calipers, discs and pads
    • New rear shoes and cylinders
    • New front shocks, track control arms, track rod ends
    • New anti-roll bar bushings
    • New steering rack mount rubbers
    • New rear shocks
    • New rear bushes
    • New gearbox seals
    • New rear axle seals
    • New flexible brake hoses

    Bad Points
    • One bubble of rust on the rear left wheelarch
    • Bulkhead sound deadening pad broken
    • LHS headlight reflector is slightly tarnished (but it passed it's last NCT that way)

    The car comes with
    • The Carcoon
    • Engine parts that were removed when the engine was rebuilt (GT cam, distributor, bolts, hoses, etc.)
    • Original Weber 32/32 DGV

Complete lack of use is the reason for sale. I don't want it to start deteriorating hence the reason for sale.

That's a very sweet car. Do yourself a favour though and give an indication of what kinda money you're looking for it.

I am looking for seats and carpets from a Range Rover p38, if anyone knows of one being broken.

Have had a sniff around adverts and donedeal but nothing suitable on there at the minute.

Would also consider other cream leathers - seats are for a classic Range Rover and most older stuff on manual rails will be reasonably straightforward to fit.

Any suggestions? eg I like Alfa 156 seats but the cream is too white and the tan is too orange. I fitted an Alfa GTv tan seat, the style of which sort of looks good but too orange and a bit firm for the Rangie.

    NCT May 2019
    151k kms
    Asking €1,000
Originally an Australian car, imported into Ireland in 2001 by the chap I bought it off in 2016! He bought it brand new in Sydney. I have a copy of the sales invoice!
The low miles are genuine and verifiable by a full service history and a rake of receipts.
The car not immaculate. There are plenty of marks on the body, but it has no rust issues and mechanically it drives beautifully.
I think its priced fairly for what it is. Obviously I am open to offers though!

    Gents,

I have a boot spoiler taken from a 90 Sierra hatch, white in colour, no damage but for a small bit of flaking paint on one corner. Free to anyone who wants it at Terenure tomorrow.

Same goes for a few brochures, Lancia, Nissan, Rover, Renault etc.

I also have four or five of boxes full of old car magazines, 70s/80s/90s+ that have been provisionally spoken for; again they are free to a good home if for whatever reason they aren't taken.

Collection from the boot of my car at Terenure. I'll be there from about 12 :)

I'm hoping to get up there before lunch.

I'll be recovering it anyway I'd say, not sure if there swappable though. Think the back of the passenger seat clips onto the bulkhead while the drivers is adjustable.

Lovely, lovely car, Silvera. One of my favourite cars when I was a young lad :)

    I'm surprised it hasn't sold.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,074 ✭✭✭✭Duke O Smiley

That certainly is an utter bargain.

Silvera, if I had the cash you and I would be talking tomorrow :)

If you spend 55 on an NCT, you should get at least 100 more for it provided it passes. As is, it's too much of a risk to buy even at 275 imho. But maybe someone just needs a car for the next two months to tide them over - it would suit them

It has all the past NCT records, and I will happily NCT it for any interested party,.
At 275 you cant really say its a risk to be fair.

    It will pass no problem
