I still haven't heard anything back for refund for the crappy missold getflix... How did you manage to get credit?

I wrote a snotty email to them and expressed my disappointment and got this!

    Hi XXXXX,
We've refunded your order for Getflix: Lifetime Subscription (x1) and credited $35 back to your account as store credit for use on a future purchase.
Thanks for your patience, and we hope to have you back as a customer again in the near future.

I haven't logged in yet ..... am assuming that there is a $35 credit sitting on my account. I haven't opened a PayPal dispute....would this stand a good chance of success in obtaining back the cash?? What is the key wording to use to open the PayPal dispute??

Bit of an issue with my €15 Lifetime but likely my own fault, will see what happens
Did not verify email address in time.

Hi, I purchased one if your products and at the time it seems I didn’t verify my email. I now find myself locked out and stuck in an endless loop of
    Resend confirmation
Whoops The VPN is not available now
    Resend

Can this be addressed please so I can use the product?
    Thanks

Any reports back on this working on the Fire Stick??

    I tried it last night.
Installed fine on the fire stick
Selected 'Streaming iPlayer' as my region
    Installed iPLayer
When I try to play something it says there's a problem & to try again later or select another program
    All programs say this

Ended up watching what I wanted through an "alternative" method.

Would like to hear from anyone who got this working.

    Thanks

It worked totally fine on amazon fire TV... They made it clear on website it doesn't work on gen 1 firestick.. Do you have a 1st gen one?

    Ah feck :(

Presume I could install it on my phone then (as well as the iPlayer) and stream it to Chromecast

I might have got it via their support.
I cant actually access their website at the minute as it is blocked in work.

[FONT=Lucida Grande,Verdana,Arial,sans-serif][FONT=Lucida Sans Unicode,Lucida Grande,Tahoma,Verdana,sans-serif]Our service can be installed on all Amazon Fire TV and Fire Stick devices except the Fire Stick of a 1st generation.

You can check this manual about how to set up:

OK, so before I pull the trigger on this, as there's only 16 hours left until the deal ends, is this definitely working OK for people with Amazon Fire devices (2nd Generation and up) and in conjunction with a Virgin Hub 3.0?

Also is it the Lifetime 5 devices option everyone is getting with the discount code provided by the Op, or does it work with the 10, 25 and 100 devices options also?

I definitely have it working with amazon fire tv (second gen) for us netflix and for iplayer.
You cant configure DNS on the Virgin Hub 3.0 - so you would need other hardware if you want to change all devices connecting to be able to access us netflix etc.
The support said very clearly just 5 to me.

Great, thank you! I'll be happy if I can use the BBC iPlayer and hop over to US Netflix for some content now and again, and perhaps I'll have a play around to see if I can get HBO / Hulu / Prime content working too.

Right, may as well go ahead and get it now so!

    No worries!
Its fairly straightforward (and works unlike Getflix!)
Morby you could do the free trial and set it all up first...you dont have to activate or give any credit card details for 1st day.
I also setup directly on tablet and no issues with iplayer or US netflix.

Got it on an impulse this morning and it works great on my phone. Watched a bit of US Netflix and worked great.
The android app is also very slick and does a great job.

If this works with my Chromecast tonight, it will have been a brilliant €15.03 well spent.

How did you get this to work? I keep getting the error " You are using an unblocker or proxy" on Netflix when I try and play anything on the US netflix using the VPN Unlimited.

I'm connected to NY through the VPN app on my phone and trying to play Netflix on my phone. Any ideas?

You need to make sure you are selecting one of the "streaming" servers. Go back into the list and select the "streaming Netflix, Hulu" server.

i know VPN's have many options and can be complex, outside that is there separate dns server which could be configured to totally bypass ISP, in other words someone who knows more would it be good VPN provider to be used daily not just for streaming services.

You need seperate accounts for each region for the region wise contents

Ok seeing as I couldn't get the fire stick generation 1 to work I installed VPN app on my phone along with BBC iplayer

All works great on phone but Chromecast won't work.

    Anyone know why?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 118 ✭✭Creeping Death

Can this be used at different locations at the same time?

I wouldn't need all 5, so I'm wondering if my brother could use 1 or 2 at his house.

    Oh nice find!

    Set up and working.

At last I can watch all my Cheers eps online without have to go to some dodgy streaming site!

I have a few vpn services on the go but none of them seem to be able to get the ole flicks to work. Happy to see this one does!

    THANKS OP!

Some disheartening reviews for this, similar can be found on Google

    https://ie.trustpilot.com/review/stacksocial.com

    Like I said scammy
To be completely fair, those reviews are for the company stacksocial, and not for the product they are selling (on this occasion) which is vpn unlimited.

I already bought and then decided to check out that site after for a different product, and saw this review come up about lifetime vpn offers...:o:rolleyes:

I didnt see anything about verifying an email address? Is that after you redeem the offer you bought?

The only site I trust for VPN 'reviews' is https://thatoneprivacysite.net

VPN Unlimited isn't the best when it comes to logging etc. but it also seems to be far from the worst.
If the most you are doing with this is streaming some content from a different country, then you have nothing to worry about. Keep your nefarious acts to a more secure service.

Also, just to break down the explanations in that link...
The “free” or cheap VPN is collecting user data and selling it to third parties and advertisers (a very lucrative business).
Every site does this (pretty much). Using a VPN won't, in any way, make you less protected.
The VPN blasts you with ads or redirects your browser to third party websites – and then earns commissions on sales.
I haven't seen any ads using this yet. Granted, I haven't used it much.
They will simply cancel your “lifetime” subscription after a year or two (see VPNLand example below).
I haven't seen any T&C's specifying the length of the lifetime sub. Even if you only got it for a year, €15 is still great value (if it works!). EDIT: T&C's say 100 years, extended on request.
The VPN is similar to a Ponzi-scheme, requiring an ever-increasing number of new subscribers to remain financially solvent.
This is possible, but again - it's great value even if you only get a year.
The “lifetime” is actually referencing the lifetime of the VPN company – not the customer. After selling a large amount of lifetime subscriptions, the owners could simply pay themselves out and then close the business.
VPN Unlimited seems to be trading since October 2013 with steady work being done to better the product. This doesn't feel likely. It's possible I suppose.

I've been using VPN Unlimited since 2015 and have never seen an ad on any of their products ever. Their apps and services seem to be constantly and frequently updated. I like it as it is very straightforward to use. My only regret when I purchased the 'lifetime' subscription was I only went with 5 devices when 10 was only $5 more...

I use their apps on a Mac, iPad, iPhone and 2nd Gen Amazon Firestick and it has been faultless. I would switch between UK, US and French VPN's fairly frequently and without difficulty.
