Vpns and getting American Netflix etc has been discussed on these boards for as long as I can remember tbh.

I think you might be getting confused with discussing things like accessing piracy sites, illegality or drug taking.

A thread recently got shut down for this reason

    https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=107280174&postcount=8

    Mixed message maybe.

There you go now, that's a new one on me anyway.

I wonder why that decision was made?

Boards has always been extremely conservative when it comes to things like that. Can't discuss streaming, or illegal downloads or even sites that did those. Or showing of goals in football from non official feeds etc.

Was that way even in the glory days.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

Edit, both iPlayer and USA Netflix working on my shield, but neither work on my phone?

Have vpn unlimited installed on both.

    Weird

Netflix not working for me on Chrome, is it worth trying a different browser? Firefox?

I used to just pick a random US server for Netflix then I started getting the message from Netflix saying I was on a VPN etc.. Once I realised there was a server called Streaming Netflix, Hulu and used that there wasn't an issue. Works fine on my phone (4G and wifi) and my tv.

The secret is to get your hands on a VPN service that's not that well known and less used by others. Less chance of it being detected ;)

Ya, netflix isn't working on any server for me either. I sent through a ticket to customer service. They're very quick at shutting down some of the server unfortunately.

Has anyone had any success in connecting to the VPN using say a hotspot on a smartphone that is running the vpn unlimited app? Pity there is no VPN app for smart tvs.
