Their actions and behaviour and correspondences were morally puerile and act as confirmation bias to women who've have bad experiences with men.

And what about women who speak of men they hook up in a similar fashion? Calling them fcukboys and how they'd ride them till they broke them etc etc. You really think talking crass about the opposite sex is something only men do? Give over. You'd swear women were all angels the way some go on.

The entire fallacy of "love" and "romance" is based initially on sex, and not on connections in any other way. Men sleep with women first then decide if they want to get to know them beyond that.

Those who aren't very good at the "merry go round at the carnival" (to quote the defendants) get left behind. This case proves that quite probably they are better off.

Does the same work for men, cause being married that means i must be a stallion
Or is it only women that get judged in the sack
Do we do a average of drunk/sober bangs or just judge on one criteria

I am more worried about the evergrowing movement of what is developing into a generalisation of men by feminists and wannabe outraged than I am about such comments.

It doesn't take away from what was said in that message group though to brink in "whattaboutery" retorts.

He was defamed, hence the sueing for defamation. And given what he’s been through and what he has potentially lost as a result of the trial he has every right to be angry.

Why are people so determined to ignore that fact that Paddy Jackson is innocent?
We're skipping the court case for this one?

If Aodhan has any real conviction - he should call the bluff of the Jackson Legal team.

There would be an absoulte top of the league legal team ready to take PJ to court and would do it pro bono.

The Jackson team should keep the head down.

Aodhan has no convictions. He'll be under pressure now not to back down from the Twitter mob. Having to apologise to Jacko will destroy his credability.
Welcome to senior hurling Aodhan. Hope Jacko gets a few quid out of u

I was thrilled to read that Paddy Jackson intends to sue Aodhan O'Riordan. I have very mixed feelings on the case overall but I agree with the verdict.

His tweet was disgraceful and I hope he is taken for every penny he has.

I also hope those that named the accuser online are prosecuted also.

The internet really brings out the worst in people.

I'm not trying to take away from they way they spoke, just putting it in context.

The notion that they need to answer for how they spoke in private is absurd.

Paddy could have a very difficult case - and worse, could lose.

"The traditional definition of defamation was publication of a false statement which subjected a person to hatred, ridicule or contempt. That rather archaic definition has given way to a more modern one: according to the Defamation Act 2009, a defamatory statement is one which tends to injure a person’s reputation in the eyes of reasonable members of society. (That means that a person cannot sue for having his reputation lowered in the eyes of, for example, other members of his criminal gang!)"

No, they don't. You must associate with total scumbags because most decent people do not talk like that. There are a minority of crass scumbags with no class who go on like that. It's very sad that you think using dehumanising and degrading language while talking about private sexual acts is in any way normal. It seems to be that people who behave like this believe that everybody behaves like this, as if they're living in a bubble. It's like people who do drugs and think everyone does drugs.

No i associate with every day people
I'm just not in denial how people speak
The word bravado exists for a reason
I honestly think you havent a clue what you are talking about, as clearly you have never met a young lad in your life
Dont worry clearly there is a few like you who have lived a ridiculously sheltered life
Sheltered life? How cute. I grew up on an estate in Clondalkin. I've worked in developing countries. I've seen all sorts. But sure, yeah, 'sheltered life', whatever makes you feel better. I didn't say 'bravado' didn't exist, BTW, I said the people who use it are immature, insecure, sad tossers. You're really doing 'young lads' a disservice by saying they all go on like that.

Some of the vile tweets on the case have been deleted in regards to Jackson’s non guilty verdict. The twitter mob want to talk the talk but not walk the walk. The ball is in Jackson’s court, he’ll take a nice sum of the bbc as well.

I was delighted to hear this as well. For far too long it has been acceptable that you can say what you like about particular people, simply because the mob on Twitter and the media support what you are saying. O'Riordan tried to capitalize on Paddy Jackson's situation to get himself a few retweets and a few more supporters by jumping on the "bash the four men" bandwagon. I hope Paddy Jackson cleans him out.
It's amazing. All the reports of this court case, and not one of them has mentioned the damage done to these guy's careers and lives. Blane McIlroy has lost two years of his life for purportedly showing somebody his penis. How is that justice??

I'm delighted O Riordain is going to get sued, it's about time he was taken down a peg or two.

Since the men were found not guilty I've seen at least 3 women call them rapists in the comment section of articles about the case.

All of those advocating consent classes for young men and speaking about the sense of entitlement these rugby players have regarding women ,

Where do they think that sense of entitlement comes from ? Girls who throw themselves at famous athletes one would imagine

So should there also be a don’t throw yourself at famous people class alongside the consent classes ?

He'll be getting a signed permission slip before he shows it to another woman, that's for sure.

They don't, but they don't deserve to be respected either. They're trash, and no amount of verbal sellotape can paste over that fact.

So if they had been found guilty no one would be talking about the case anymore. But because the "WRONG" verdict was reached people have a meltdown and actually take to the streets despite having no information to prove them guilty?

Is this actually happening? Am I taking crazy pills?

Again, Jackson did NOT send any crass or nasty messages.

It was Mcilroy, and to a lesser extent Olding. The worst messages were from others in the group, not any of the four accused.

He is completely right to consider action against anyone that is defaming him. Even the threat seems to have already led to a mass deletion of defamatory and moronic tweets. O riordan tweet was disgraceful.

Poor Amadan thought he could get a few cheap votes and is now facing having to capitulate and incur the wrath of his Twitter mob !!!

    Amadan loves virtue signalling :

Of course while in government his party cut the respite grant for carers for the disabled.

I think Olding's lawyer acted completely irresponsibly too TBH. He made some sort of bigoted distinction between class and tolerance of rape which was highlighted in the following article.

Again, likely a symptom of Ireland's stellar ability to have barristers from a very limited socio-economic class.

I found O'Donoghue's implication that middle class women are uniquely abhorred by rape compared to women from other social classes to be downright weird.

His and Brendan Kelly's implications that if a woman doesn't scream, it can't be rape, were downright vile.

The implication that a woman asking in desperation to "at least use a condom" amounts to consent was equally vile.

    Tired, untrue tropes.

And some people wonder why others are unhappy at this.

    Ignorance is bliss, I guess.

Exactly. The same guy that organised an anti Trump event in NYC called the "Irish Stand".

Who exactly does this unelected chancer think he represents?

Things like Consent classes are very degrading to men. Imagine being stupid enough to go to one?.

It assumes men have predatory intent and need to be thought that its not ok to rape. Shows a terribly low opinion of men.

As you said If there are consent classes for men are their the same for women?.

    If not why not?.

Plenty of very grabby women out there, espeically with few jars or lines of coke in them.

No this is happening, very like the novel Blind Faith by Ben Elton. Ireland has gone full retard on social media and idiots are not allowed play for Laois no matter how many points they score, if they have a contranian opinion on legislation in other jurisdictions.
