The snow is back on the fields, car, roofs etc but less so on road and concrete surfaces. About half an inch...

Spring my arse lads it’s horrible really. Cold and miserable that’s how most people are describing Easter

I missed out on all the wintry showers yesterday, I had only one very light rain shower but no sign of sleet/hail.

    MT's latest outlook.
OUTLOOK ... Quite cold mid-week with sharp frosts, then gradually warming to more normal April levels. The warming trend will not be without a few reversals but there are finally some signs of temperatures into the mid-teens at certain points during the second week of April.

Looks like winter is only being defeated by the fact it's mid April. Talk about resilient.

Going to Portugal next week and the forecast looks very....Irish. 14/15c sunshine/drizzle, but i'll probably have the shorts and factor 50 out after the past month here :D

Some weird snow falling here in Wicklow. The biggest fluffiest snow I’ve ever seen. It looks amazing.

Horrendous hail shower between Cashel and urlingford around 5 this eve. Road was a whiteout with several crashes and Gardaí and ambulances everywhere on the road. Really nasty conditions.

Those showers really don't seem to be moving today, there's a shower over Kerry visible from here that has moved the whole of about 20km since midday (if even!).

Not a drop of rain here today in Clare and a Max of 10c.

Very cold start to April 1992 with snow in the east.

Pretty bad day in Dublin. Cold (feeling very cold) with on and off rain. Not a good day to be out in.

One of the absolute worst Aprils you can find, very wet and dull.

Next week might give it a run for its money, another cold week ahead with more snow potential

Heavy hail showers in Donegal again today with the mountains still white.

Some very heavy and stationary precip in a line from Galway to Limerick at the moment, looks like a convergence zone

To add on to my earlier post, if I forgot what month it was and someone told me it was January, I wouldn't question it.

I'm talking weather wise eg temperatures, cold rain, not day length or flowers, tree foliage etc. Sorry, I should've made it clearer, thought you all would get what I meant :p

I remember that event, it dumped close to a foot of snow here, it stopped snowing about 10am and then the sun came out, there was nothing left on the ground by 7pm.

I have photos of me in my school uniform in the snow with all the tulips in blooms. Was the most bizarre event. It didn't feel especially cold. I wasn't wearing a coat on the photo.

The season that keeps on giving with interest (as in, out of the ordinary).

Very interesting, however welcome as it allows a more targeted warning. Issues that spring to mind is the frequent crashes that occur on the M18 between Ennis and Gort when it hails, it seems to be a bad spot for it.

how many types of hail are there ?, we've done the snow one this year !

Snow is not a type of hail? Or am I missing something with your statement?
