And whoever was asking about the dead plant - that's Virginia Creeper (or at least I think it is, maybe it's Boston Ivy) and loses its leaves in winter.

    Interesting! Good to know

I'll eat my hat if David Norris doesn't win this!

Oh, nice product placement there, Lorraine

Love David Norris house, fabulous, but wouldn't want to have a dodgy hip with all the strairs/floors.

    I like Eoghan!

    I like Eoghan!
    Was just thinking that!

Haven't a notion who he is, but he was refreshingly honest about his limitations in this particular contest! :D

I hate all that TK MAXX cack everyone has in their living rooms these days.

This is a funny Facebook group that documents it:

That house has a very odd exterior!

How many knick knacks can you fit in one house?!

Holy moly, the size of that for a house

That first fireplace they showed (brown mottled one) is the same as one in our house growing up - and I absolutely HATED it :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 32,453 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

    That's like a flat

WTF have they done with the rest of the (ginormous) house???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,713 ✭✭✭BabysCoffee

Not a fan of the upstairs......except for the view

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 32,453 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Love that bedroom, but the windows (being attic windows) are just a bit mean.

    Lets it down completely.

And was that an Ikea couch in the sitting room downstairs?

Loving Lorraine Keanes home. Loved the two tone bathroom that we got a quick glimpse of.

I don't think there are any winners here.

    Probably David Norris' house

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 32,453 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

David Norris a clear winner for me.

As long as I could declutter a bit!

Why are all the curtains dragging on the floor in Lorraine Keane house. They look like they are the wrong size or is that meant to be 'the look'.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 266 ✭✭taylor3

David Norris House is the one I would choose. Fab.

    That's a look.

I inherited curtains the same in my sitting room when I bought my house (but not on such a grand scale :D) - I really like them!

ETA - can I just add, having recently priced up new (very modest by comparison) curtains for my bedroom, where I'm unfortunate enough to have two windows - I'm guessing that that pair of drapes alone is probably worth more than the entire window dressing of my whole house (and possibly more than the house itself :D)

Great to see we dont have any celebrity homes of mention outside dublin save for a token effort in Wicklow. Same thing really !!!

Only caught up with the show last night. I really liked the winning home owned by David Norris, you could spend hours just looking around it, I'd imagine it has so much history and so many stories to tell.

I enjoy Melissa Hill's books but I didn't understand why she needed approx. 10 copies of each book she has published on her shelves. Surely 1 of each would suffice.

Eoghann McDermott's house was the only one I think that didn't have a personal pictures up, all the others had pictures (of themselves) up in abundance.

Wasn't a big fan of Lorraine Keane's house, I dunno, the second floor "good room" struck me as a waste, it looked like it was rarely used.

The outside of the rugby player's house looked nice, but my god inside, there were knick knacks everywhere, and some of the stuff was just old fashioned rather than vintage. (but that's just my personal opinion).

Agreed, there is very little originality and it takes no great effort to fill a house with knick knacks.
I'd have more respect for someone who commissions a bespoke piece of furniture or art . David Norris was a deserving winner if only for his conservation efforts in the last forty years.

Anyone watching tonight? Lovely homes. Thought Cork house harshly marked. Couldn’t fault Clare home
