He was a principal in an architecture practice that went wallop back in 2009, but he's back in business again. I recall he featured in the RTE 'work experience' programme years ago- he had a couple of contestants designing the fitout of a Peter Mark hair salon.

Anyone know the name of the company she started I'd probably love some of her pieces.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 788 ✭✭✭useless

All it's missing is a fixie in the hall... defintely looks like a house inhabited by a beard

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,713 ✭✭✭BabysCoffee

A bit of this and a bit of that. I love looking at it, very intriguing but I wouldn't like to live there. I love my cosy symmetry too much.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,653 ✭✭✭✭amdublin

    Oooh! Argument!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,713 ✭✭✭BabysCoffee

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,311 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

How can this be home of the year when it appears to be only two rooms?

Just caught the end of the 1st part; they he say the bedrooms have no windows apart from the one at the top?

Any idea how they got that to comply with part B regulations which require escape windows in case of fire?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,653 ✭✭✭✭amdublin

It's a very cool house...when it is finished :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,311 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

The whole house could do with a lick of paint to be honest.

Not a fan of the "weathered" look at all.

    Did it score the lowest?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 774 ✭✭✭CarpeDiem85

I think the right house went through. Making me think that I'd love to build my own house.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,653 ✭✭✭✭amdublin

    Did it score the lowest?

I'm not sure. Lowest or else tied with the other house.

I would say there is instead a defined fire-rated exit route from the bedrooms out through the ground floor, avoiding the kitchen etc.

Did anyone else find it too short??

No. I was tuned in, half paying attention, then not logged in. Then cooking. I only go to see bits of it. One of the presenters complaining about the furniture, the cat on the chair.

I thought they were actual chimneys the way they looked from the outside. But they turned out to be skylights.

Were they comparing like with like? I didn't see enough of it to be sure....
