Can anyone remember the Wolfe Tone pub on Henry Street? Used to stand approximately where McDonalds (Jervis Centre) is now.

I remember this as an old school Dublin pub. Barmen in aprons, old ladies in the snug. Jimmy Timmins from Wicklow was the owner.

It is now the well known tourist haunt The Norseman.

The Hamlet is the only one I know the name of, opposite corner to the Honey Pot. Haven't gone much before the mid 60s yet research-wise.

The Hamlet was previously called The Rose Bowl.
I believe the other two were Killanes and The Green Kilt (previously Cribbins) - or were they all the one place?

The City Council site with all the old photos may have pictures of them.
    Here's the Hamlet.

TP's on the corner of Patrick St and Kevin St, in the mid 90s.
    Later became Nash's

I lived in the apartments across the road at the time, we lived in that place.

Was a total kip very run down, however it had a pool table and alcohol.
You could get a pint in there at 9:00am for some reason.

Interesting history about the pubs in that area, used to be known as the four corners of hell.

Nash's has recently been relicensed and should reopen soon. The 9am stuff was probably illegal as that wasn't a traditional area for early houses and no new ones have been possible since the 50s in Dublin (2008 outside the city).

The Parnell/Gardiner/Summerhill corner also got the Four Corners of Hell name, same reason, but all four pubs are gone now
The owner of that locations son now has the lease. The black paint looks a bit grim...

Some new signage up on the windows this morning on Nash's saying Four Corners and a website (which I didn't get a chance to read) but presuming it may be a pub by these guys www.fourcorners.ie. Will double check later on when walking past it.

Bohan's on Meath Street reappeared on the licence register in the last month, not sure if its open yet or due to reopen but it was up for let.

The Strand House is also up for let after a long closure, its licence is off the register also but the register isn't live.

Double checked it on my way home - its actually going to be called The Fourth Corner http://fourthcorner.ie/index.html

Not open yet, but due to reopen. They started redoing it about 6 months ago windows on the front instead of the brick wall, painted outside, etc.. Hasn't been work done in a while so may be finished. Heard it may be the same owners as The Jug on Francis St.

Really? I like the jug, but didnt think it was doing well enough to warrant a second place, particularly on meath st.

I pass it often and it is really open past 11pm it seems and never more than a handful of people in it.

Bohan's on Meath St was opened yesterday evening when I passed it. The Jug on Francis St was rammed too around 11pm - probably due to events on in the Tivoli and Vicar St.

Anyone know is it still a Bohan pub, owned by Lorcan Bohan like the Flowing tide?

The Black Horse in Kimmage has been re-licenced after a few years closed - this is sometimes a precursor to the licence being transferred away but considering two of the three pubs there were in the area closed there could easily be demand for it.

The sunset house in Summerhill Dublin 1 appears to be gone.

Closed a couple of weeks now.

Yes and they named it the Brendan Behan..... But it went back to the sunset house name recently and now it's closed up.

Their other pub (Neds) closed for redevelopment; may have decided to leave the business or something?

Sad to see that was an iconic pub for its time, being demolished and turned into a lidi.

Lidl have to build another pub on the site as part of the planning permission, presumably much smaller than the Belgard was..

As it stands on Botanic road in Glasnevin. The Botanic house closed years ago, but do see workmen in the place every few months forr a day or two.

The sunnybank is gone and currently been converted to social housing.

Tha Addision Lodge is technically open while seeking permission to demolish it, But no food, lights and pretty much no drink.

Botanic road is not fairing too well.

I think Peacock is taking it over saw his missus outside a while ago with workmen.

I have never found any reference to the Addison actually having a licence to serve non-residents...

The Lidl in Whitestown was also a pub site originally; they have form there.

Maybe the scroates in Tallaght should have left the Lidl alone then.

Was the Addison not forced into a sale by the banks a few years back? At a fraction of the price paid to but it originally
