So is it formula coverage officially starts at 5 mins to the hour but the race doesn't go lights out until 10 mins past the hour?

For the first race, there's daylight saving to contend with. I think it's 5.10 race start. But someone please check that for me.

Race at 6.10. On the formula 1 official website there's a "convert to your time" option which saves all the mental arithmetic :)

Yeah it was a good finish to the race.

I don't like the fan boost thing though and the coverage seemed a bit amateurish, from the camera shots to the commentating but interesting to watch.

I'll look forward to watching a race or two next year again when the F1 is finished for winter!

Next year with the new cars and longer lasting batteries Formula e will be racing on the full Monaco track layout as well.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Lads, someone posted s link to some good data of lap times for race simulations for Mercedes, RB and Ferrari.

Could you post a link to it again? I looked back over the last few pages but can’t see it.

    Cheers

Did the Guardian do a preview booklet this year? Haven't seen them do one for a few years, they used to be great.

This was their Brawn GP profile for 2009 (presumably completed before pre-season testing) :D

I hope they were made eat their words. Some of the remarks in that were miles off. :)

What happened to the Brawn GP cars? Who owns them or are they in a museum somewhere?

From what I can find online, it appears that Button has his car, Ross Brawn has Barrichello's, and Mercedes have the spare car. There were only three Brawn chassis (Honda built two designed to run a Honda engine). Button raced his car in every session until the last GP in Abu Dhabi.

Rosberg has the best eyebrows in F1, hands down!

The uproar on social media from Hamilton fans is rather quite funny. Some very over the top reactions to that announcement.

To be fair, it was pretty spot on in terms of what I felt at the time after Brawn managed to scrape a team together.
Nobody could ever have foreseen what they did.
Brawn was confident in what they had when Honda were on board but Honda have a habit of pulling the plug just at the wrong time. I don't think even he expected the hastily put together Mercedes Engined Brawn to be the class of the field. Even after testing, where they were quick, I certainly thought it was showboating for sponsors.
Amazing how much they were off the pace in 2010 as Mercedes though.
I'm sure Schumacher thought he was jumping into a guaranteed race winner and championship contender.

F1s new title music, made by Brian Tyler and I had to check straight away if he worked with Hans Zimmer or is involved in e.g. "two steps from hell" as it sounds exactly like them.

It sounds like some kind of theme music from a Marvel movie, it's not bad but it will never break beat the chain

I agree it does sound very like Marvel music. But if it gets more fans and young people into Formula 1 I have no problem with it. I don't think it will become a classic but I like it.
