HAD GETABIRD GET THE **** INNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!

:-). I'll welcome that abuse. I'll have 200,000 euro on him and my free 2 euro Star bet ew. Fupping machine, laid out for the gamble by crooked trainer. Deliberately ran out on first point to point start to get enhanced odds of 2/1 tomorrow.

    2.10 Footpad

    Can't see him being beat.

    2.50 Cogry 16/1

One who'll love the conditions at a price.

With you on these two. Cogry won over course and distance in oct and ground will suit.
Looks like Footpad will go off at odds on.
Have to have a few quid on Faugheen too 'in case he wins' - I'm hoping having Ruby back on board will help.

I was thinking of doing the favourite Acca tomorrow with apples jade, buveur d’air, getabird and footpad, the weak link tho I think is footpad, petit mouchoir probably has the beating of him with a clear round judged on his last run and all previous hurdle runs v footpad.footpad would have been at his best the last day where PM was coming back from a set back and hit a fence or two quite hard and wasn’t giving a tough race(wasn’t even hit with whip).
It was also only PM 2nd run over fences
So I’m expecting a big run from him, footpad is definetly not banker material here, and on the balance of there careers so far PM is the better horse he just hasn’t had a chance to prove it over fences yet but there will be no excuses tomorrow .

5.30 I like testify as he will love the ground is a front runner and keeps finding when challenged

    Gold present in the 2.50

    No comment 4.50

I honestly can't see how PM has the beating of Footpad on the last day. Footpad was an easy winner

    Get over yourself you clown

In fairness if you called Cheltenham right handed you can't be calling anyone a clown. It's like saying Lionel Messi is a centre half! If you weren't a regular poster the heads would be jumping all over it but because you're a face here then it's a small mistake and the lads just ignore

Also, maybe not aimed at you specifically Motivator but I've read a bit of the "rollyeyes, here come the four day a year crew" leave it out lads, everyone's interest level rises for this week including yours.

We're all muggy enough punters deep down and I wouldn't say there's any pro punters here so don't be slating people (before it even happens) for being more amateurish than your amateur level.

I really don't like that closed ranks clique shoite, I don't post on racing form all year round because I'm a busy man with a lot going on but doesn't mean I some slack jawed yokel with a €2 daily star cut out coupon

And even if I was a €2 coupon punter, who cares, they don't know or care about after timing.....it takes no energy or effort to scroll past a little silly post like that

Been on the Supreme for a while and I'm down to 5 so someone put me out my misery.

    Pick 3 from

    Western Ryder
    Paloma Blue
    Claimantakinforgan
    Mengli Khan
    Debuchet

The eve of the most wonderful time of the year and people are fighting on internet forums. Embrace it lads.

    My bets for tomorrow

Supreme - Summerhill Boy (expect Getabird to win but getting at the fav with PP's free €10 bet)
    Ultima - Yala Enki
    4 miler - Ms Parfois

a Apples Jade/ La Bague au Roi 1-2 would be nice for some doubles and trebles also

Afraid I'm one of the once a year folk but I do love Cheltenham. This thread has done me well the last few years so will be keeping an eye on it.

Some very knowledgeable people here so it really helps. Mr whitaker and vintage clouds are the two I'm going for so far.

Looking at debuchet e/w in the first race tomorrow, anyone think he's worth a punt? Looks like decent form and looked back on his races and seems to finish pretty strong if in contention[/QUOTE

two good shouts and debuchet wouldnt be a lost cause by any means

Close brothers : Any Second Now 11/2 : Been mixing with classy horses all year . Big mover today and one to be watched closely in the betting considering conections

Ultima Handipcap : Knight of Noir 25/1

no ground issues form at chelt reads 229 the 9th been a respectable one in 16' pertemps final . this horse has form in beating the big boys has been put away with this race been the target . word has reached me from 2 different unconected sources about this horse so i think it has a big chance at a price.

The syndicate are giving him no chance with the ground. They are just gone over for the day out!

Thoughts on Pylonthepressure? Worth a few bob e/w flutter?

I'm baffled by Coo Star Sivola's price and the support the horse is getting. I could be very wrong but if I am, I'll have to reflect on how I pick my selections.

Hopefully Shantou Flyer stays the extra trip and places at least. He is getting serious support from the 25's when declared into 16's.

The ground mightn’t be the worst thing for him I don’t think. Hes a good horse, better than what he’s shown over hurdles so far and I think if he’s held up by Danny he’ll stay on up the hill when others are sinking. He’s the right price, anything shorter than 33s on offer you probably couldn’t back him (based on what we’ve seen so far over hurdles - especially Christmas at Leopardstown) but seeing as he found only Fayonagh too good last year he’s worth a few quid ew.

Gone very shot I agree - but have fancied it a few weeks so sticking by it tbh. Just a pity I'm very anti-Ante :D

on him loves the ground great young rider who is bang in form

Add to that the fact Coo Star Sivola has run absolute blinders over hurdles at the last two festivals and it's easy to see why he's the price he is.

    Heavy ground have no fear.

    1:30

This a very open race imo. Fav is solid but too short. Kalashnikov will have to be some horse to back up his Betfair Hurdle win, I can see him running a bit flat.

PALOMA BLUE e/w - Improving with every run and I was so impressed how he went to the last with Samcro having pulled his brains out. Faster pace here will suit.

WESTERN RYDER e/w - good bumper and early season Novice Hurdle form. I can forgive him the Tolworth effort. Last run behind Vinndication was really good imo cos I think Vinndication is a serious horse.

DEBUCHET e/w - very good bumper form. Had a setback earlier in the season and blew the Cobwebs off in an admittedly poor maiden hurdle. I liked how much he improved from that run to his next one behind Samcro mixing it with the best Irish Novices. I'd expect more improvement from this 5yo tomorrow.

    2:10

FOOTPAD - I think he's near enough a good thing tbh. I can't see Petit Mouchoir reversing the form and I really respect Saint Calvados but Footpad is an exceptional novice chaser.

    3:30

I think Buveur D'air gets beaten. He went off 5/1 last year and I'm not sure he's the world beater he's been made out to be. I think one of Mullins will win. I'm backing FAUGHEEN, MELON e/w, and YORKHILL e/w.

Sods law says WickIow Brave will win now lol but I couldn't trust him not to be left at the start. Was also hugely flattered at Punchestown. Opportunistic ride/other jockeys caught napping. Was the 5th best horse in the race.

Faugheen ran as good as BD ever has in the Morgiana. Timefigures back that up. Bounced to the moon at Christmas. Improved on that at Leopardstown and I expect him to improve again. He's lost his turn of foot but I think he'll be ridden for stamina tomorrow so it won't matter and it will take a very good one to pass him. He should be a lot closer to BD in the betting and I can see money coming for him. First time cheek pieces should help him. This actually reminds me of Sprinter v UDS in 2016. I won't be surprised to see Faugheen win.

I'm just ignoring Yorkhill outside Cheltenham because he is a horrible horse anywhere else but he is a Cheltenham horse if ever there was one. He didn't run *that* badly in the Lexus and obviously wasn't right the last day. I'd be hopeful he can return to his Neptune/JLT form and if he does he is a massive threat.

Melon is still very unexposed. I'd expect him to reverse form with MTOY with the weight swing. Ignore last his run where he didn't like the hood. Even small improvement on his Supreme and his International runs and he's into the 160s and near hitting the frame. I don't think he's that ground dependant either. He's a better horse than Elgin, Mick Jazz, and Chtibello imo. Melon has a lot of knockers but I think he could be decent and I hope he shows it tomorrow.

    4:10

JER'S GIRL w/o fav e/w - Apple's Jade should win but I think JG is her biggest danger. JG will love the ground and she's overpriced here. I can't have the Mullins mare at all. Just don't get why they are reverting from fences and I thought she'd win easier the last day. La Bague Au Roi wants further and I think it's insane she's not in the Stayers tbh, I think JG will reverse the Kempton form with her.

    5:30

ANY SECOND NOW e/w - Loved this horse since *that* maiden hurdle win. I think he's chucked in here. Has great form with Footpad, Invitation Only and Monalee - very possibly the 3 Grade 1 winners at the Festival.

Remember folks ya can't take it with ya so if ya do your dough don't let it stop you from enjoying the greatest show on turf!

I'll also do a few muggy doubles/trebles with the favs aswell for the craic.

    Also just done:

5:30 TYCOON PRINCE e/w - If Any Second Now is the best horse in the race, this is possibly the second. Second to Al Boum Photo (very good Grade 1 form) in a beginners chase where the loose horse Le Martalin actually jumped across TP a few times. TP won a beginners then in Leopardstown beating Bunk Off Early 6.5 lengths. Bunk Off Early would have beaten De Plotting Shed at Gowran if he hadn't fallen imo. And De Plotting Shed is shorter than TP in this race. TP was then booked for 4th in the Irish Arkle behind Footpad, Petit Mouchoir and Any Second Now before departing at the last. Any Second Now had him well held but I thought it was eye catching from TP.

Finding the Ultima and NH Chase tricky atm so I may leave them altogether or have another look in the morning.

A few fancies for day one; Debuchet around 33's looks worth a shot in the Supreme (Getabird too short imo), I think Footpad will win the Arkle, Shantou Flyer EW in the Ultima at 18's could go well in a visor for the first time, Wicklow Brave at 14's & 6's w/o Buveur if he bothers to jump on terms, Apple's Jade wins, Ms Parfois at 7's in the four-miler (should improve for the trip; handy allowance) and finally Testify at 11's. Think he's a nice prospect, although hasn't faced a field of any size yet.

Good luck to everyone this week.

Footpad looks a Gold Cup horse to me and even with the heavy ground I can see him been dpne for toe.

He’s beat footpad every time he has raced against him over hurdles, and the last day he wasn’t at his fittest they always said he would come on for it as he had some setback since his debut chase win, he also hit the second fence very hard which would usually show in the latter part of the race yet he closed on footpad near finish without either horse getting whipped it has to be said.
He also usually front runs but the last day he let footpad do it and I would be surprised if he didn’t jump off in front of footpad today
Saint calvedos also want to front run so I would imagine footpad would sit in behind the other 2.

I think footpad had everything in his favour last time but could only beat petit mouchoir 5 lengths, surely he can’t be a banker with improvement always likely to come from PM who had already proved in his career to be better than footpad over hurdles.
If petit mouchoir gos off in front of footpad only a fall will stop him finishing ahead of him IMO
