Anyone got a uhans note 4, an OTA came out a few weeks ago,one of the phones got the update download fine, but the other one the download stays at 0%. Uhans support are not very helpful. I can get to the freeme operation system site with the update but as it's in Chinese I can't follow it to do it manually.

Settings /display I think

Maybe it depends on the rom?

If you did't delete the downloaded file from the other phone you can likely export it to the phone that didn't download it.

You may get more help here and there is a link under 'development & support' section to custom recovery (TWRP) that may have similar problems.

Looking to buy a €100 5.5" phone, was looking at a uhans note 4 on geekbuyings eu stores, but they have all gone out of stock (actually most phone have) I'm reluctant to by direct from China (should I be), Anyone any suggestions needs 4g b3, b8 & b20 and 5.2"+.

The redmi note 4 is about 150 delivered ,the best bang for buck .

There's one off amazon UK at €100

Vodafone has a 5.5 " Sony for 110 if u switch

Uhans Note 4 here slightly more expensive

Or you could look at something like the Nubia N1 Lite Global version or the Leagoo KIICAA MIX.
https://www.joybuy.com/600256739.html
https://www.geekbuying.com/item/Leagoo-KIICAA-MIX-5-5-Inch-3GB-32GB-Smartphone-Black-392410.html

The Leagoo has soft volume, so you need to access engineering tools.

Also have a look on sites like LITB where you can opt to pay 'Duty & Tax insurance'. It won't be as quick as Geekbuyings 2 day shipping, but you shouldn't get any surprises at the door either.

So my Xiaomi Resmi 5 Plus 4/64gb global version arrived the other day.

I love it so far. Screen is awesome. Sound is great.

Brought it to the rugby. And used camera, got some great pics, zoom and clarity were fine.
Got some later when it was darker and front camera flash is really good feature (for those drunken selfies you can be ashamed of later.)

Couple of things I have noticed.

1. Home/back/running apps key are now on bottom of screen instead of bottom of phone housing. Have closed apps to home screen a few times due to this.

2. Sound only from speaker on bottom right of phone? Are the speaker holes on the other sound purely cosmetic?
Sound is still very good but just not sure if this is an issue or a design.

Over all really like it.

Was showing the brother and he was impressed. Then he asked how much and I told him about 180€ delivered and he was REALLY impressed.

Excellent bang for buck and that's coming from previous experience with note 4, 3/32gb

The other speaker holes are surely for the mic?

A lot of companies are adding them on for cosmetic reasons.

Got this last week myself. Love it too. An outstanding value smartphone. Still getting used to Android though after years on iOS.

Redmi Note 5 COLOR="Blue"]China/Global[/COLOR

Redmi Note 5 with Full Screen Gestures Arriving in China (on March 16); Key Specs Officially Confirmed

Supposedly reported different camera's than you can find in Redmi Note 5 Pro [India]

Hoping there will also been a Global version with Band 20 Support.

Some aliexpress seller's had place holder pages up for it last week.
Also noticed it up for pre-sale on Goldway, doesn't support band 20 according to there listings. But other reseller place holder listings last week said it had.

https://goldway.aliexpress.com/store/311331/search?SearchText=redmi+note+5

So be careful if ordering the device, that your getting the correct variety and best bet is to wait a month or so (maybe global will be available by then).

I have seen a few reviewers pitting the Redmi Note 5 against the Honor 9 Lite.

Yep, says it in the article:
Which should you buy?

If you're in the UK, the Honor 9 Lite is a solid option, particularly considering it comes with NFC and Oreo out of the box. For £199, there aren't many phones that offer quite as much as the Honor 9 Lite.

But if you're in the market for a new budget phone in India, there are better alternatives available. The Redmi Note 5 Pro, for instance, is available for ₹13,999 ($215), and handily beats the Honor 9 Lite in every area.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 636 chipset, a 4000mAh battery, and a 12MP camera at the back that's currently the best in this category. You also get 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage as standard, and the same variant of the Honor 9 Lite will set you back ₹14,999 ($230). The Redmi Note 5 is pretty great for ₹10,999, but the Redmi Note 5 Pro trounces it in terms of value.

Well that would make sense. :-/ (facepalm)

I just never noticed the sound discrepancy in the note 4 with the same look at bottom of phone

The mic is normally one tiny hole.

The mic is normally one tiny hole.

That's what I would have thought, had a look at my own phone though and surely enough the right set of holes are the speaker, the left set is the mic. Covered each set to test

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Launching In Europe Soon
On Friday, March 16, the Redmi Note 5 Pro will leave the shores of India and launch in China as the Redmi Note 5 albeit with slightly different features. However, there is a report that China won’t be its only destination.

According to Roland Quandt (@rquandt), the Redmi Note 5 Pro is going international soon with Europe on the list. It will also have the required bands for respective markets. He also adds that when the phone lands in Europe, it will come in a 32GB version that will be priced around €230 and a 64GB model priced around €270.

India, China and Now also a global version due, I wonder which configuration of the device goes global. China/Indian.

Note/Warning: - Some re-sellers have listing up for this already, so be very cautious of ordering early!

Friday we should know more about the China version.

Anyone in the cheap Android market making sub 5" phones?

Would love something close in spec to the Sony XZ1 Compact.

Brilliant suggestion except for one thing, micro USB. I changed to an iPhone simply because of the charging port. I have previously wore out micro USB ports in a year on phones.

The spec of the phone otherwise is brilliant for the price.

Edit:Redmi not resmi
