True, but let's not forget, after Rothmans came Winfield. *shudders*
It does put a bit more pressure on the two Williams youngsters to perform in order to attract sponsors and not look as bare as a McLaren.

    This too shall pass.

For Honda to go one lap without a problem is an achievement by the standards of recent years :D

In fairness, this is the 4th year of their return, you would hope they would get something right by now.

Didn't Honda say at some point that McLaren were a very hard team to work with and a lot of their problems were down to McLaren's arrogance and refusal to change their car design some way?
I think Honda also said it will be much easier to work with Torro Rosso.
Seems to be falling into place already.
If they did say that, thats utter bollox because the car design (McLarens side of it) would have nothing to do with the Honda side other than the packaging.

If you watch the Amazon doc, you get a better idea of the troubles they had with Honda.

Pretty much a pointless day if temperatures stay around the 3c marker as they currently are :(

Apparently there's talk of not testing tomorrow and doing it on Friday instead due to the low temperatures.

For anybody looking, these guys have put together some form of testing show - was better yesterday though when there were more cars out on track!

Sounds like that idea has been shot down. Williams are due for a media day on Friday, and seems like they have vetoed it.

It's on the new Hypersoft tyres, whereas everybody else is on Softs of Mediums. The main thing to take from this is that the Renault engine is working and capable of setting competitive times.

That 1m20.168s by Vettel was set on mediums. Thats looks pretty promising! Track temperature is now up to 18° according to Autosport.

Love this from the Sky F1 live testing stream
    15:03
Fastest times by a Williams driver so far...

Lance Stroll, Day One, Soft tyres, 1:22.452

Robert Kubica, Day Two, Soft tyres, 1:21.495

Sergey Sirotkin, Day Two, Soft tyres, 1:21.822

    Just saying...

If the Honda engines turn out to be great this year and Red Bull wants them, I wouldn't mind if Toro Rosso tells the senior team to get stuffed.

    The best news:
    https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/headlines/2018/2/formula-1-to-launch-f1-tv-a-live-grand-prix-subscription-service.html
During the season, F1 TV will be made available in four different languages (English, French, German and Spanish) and will appear in nearly two dozen markets at launch (including Germany, France, USA, Mexico, Belgium, Austria, Hungary and much of Latin America). Access will initially be available through desktop and web, with mobile apps and TV apps being phased in on Amazon, Apple and Android, enabling users to watch on a range of different devices at no additional cost. Pricing for F1 TV Pro will be offered on a monthly basis of USD$8-$12, and annual rates will be priced according to market.

Cannot wait to test that with a VPN, and then hope for the next Sky subscription raise and goodbye! Sky, hello future!

Also note the burn marks above the Renault badge, it was a broken exhaust bracket I believe.

Autosport reporting Renault already planning strategic grid penalties.

Formula 1 needs to go back to being motor racing. Its a joke these days. All that money for this nonsense

Session is currently red-flagged until the helicopter is able to fly. Going to be a busy day! :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,589 ✭✭✭Harika

Autosport understands some teams are considering heading out onto the track once the red flag is lifted as while meaningful running will not be possible, it would create a unique photo opportunity.

    Are they drinking at work?
