Hi ML you often say it will snow up country but not for Cork in a Northwesterly.
Remember this event now for future ones aa Cork quite often does well in these setups and you usually think not lol.
    Anyways enjoy your snow everyone

Where did I say that?! We get it but it doesn't last long. Today it might with all the showers.

Now, a special photo exclusive for boards.ie!

    2qatija.jpg

First proper accumulation of snow since 2010, beautiful. The snow was a powerdy fluffy snow from the beginning however due to the sun heating up the ground for a good 30mins before the shower, nothing stuck for a while. Eventually the ground gave it and it stuck to everything. I realise it's nothing compared to what you get up the country, but for a coastal location in Clare it's pretty good.

Temperature now going up again, currently 0.5c. Beautiful sight and I hope I won't have to wait years until I see it again.

Sun spoiling all the fun, quick thaw on now. Next round of showers looks to be slipping to my south.

Came home last night at 2.30 to a light sleet shower and everywhere wet.
About 3-4cm's of snow lying on everything except the roads after the last big shower, although I'm told the roads were covered early this morning.

There must be some upgrades needed around your area, electricity seems to go alot?
just take your time, and watch out for other people who aren't being so careful.

    And it’s back !
Went last time we had heavy snow too

Been blue skies at Grange so far today. If I'm not going to get snow (which I wasn't expecting anyway), this is the next best thing. :)
