Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lovely big flakes in the shower that just passed through Waterford City and did stick to everything bar the roads. Shame they don’t last longer but still great to see. Might be our lot looking at the latest radar. Temp 1c DP 0c

Proper snow shower now in Westport. White out conditions. Covering the ground very fast. Some hail in there too.

Could it be -2 pushing up against +2?

It's coastal. Although Snowdonia isn't a million miles away.

That's quite a high mean snow depth from the GFS 06z ensembles for Dublin on Tuesday.

    Too good to be true.

Today again shows just how dry dublin seems to be vs other parts of Ireland. I would love some snow to be honest but it is striking just how often in the worst weather events that dublin escapes.

I was looking at the annual rainfall stats for 2017. Only 660mm of rain all year at dublin airport, there are stations in the west and south west that regularly record around 2000mm. Dublin averages around 730mm per year, when you look at cork for example they seem to average closer to 1,300mm. I remember a friend of mine from cork moving here to dublin and he would often comment how little it rained in dublin.

Just hearing reports of snow everywhere again today and here in dublin the sun splitting the sky again. In the summer that’s great but I wouldn’t mind some snow. Only had a couple of short snow coverings in the garden this winter

Good attempt at making the place white again here in West Clare, this time with Hail! Settled better on roads this time but a quick melt is coming!

Dublin literally getting nothing out of this, maybe Tuesday can give us some . Go by the black line on the chart

    Blizzard-like conditions here

Watching the snowflakes outside, it is almost like they have minds of their own. like little insects flying up and down and sideways aimlessly.

Are ye sure that's Tipp? Fox looks like US / Canada variety tbh. foxes here don't generally go 'fluffy' like that. Eye colour very strange too. A possible release?

I had plenty of snowfall on 27/28 November 2010 in blue skies.

Snow again in West Clare, however not sticking we temperature too high. Amazing how fluffy it is givrn the temperatures.

The last shower here I could see dropping wintry precip around 590m away, but nothing here!

Stopped snowing again, could possibly get interesting again this evening when temps drop if showers are still around.

Just back from a walk in Aherlow. It's covered up there - a good 3 or 4 inches deep in places!

High in the western half of the country.

In the east we have a land track that is too long, winds are not strong enough to carry the showers through and a lack of inland convection this time of year.

Some might get through later though.
