Would love to see Colm Parkinson given a shot. Fresh young personality that would add a bit of life and controversy to proceedings while not going over the top.

    Johnny Pilkington!!!

    Is it you?

    Darragh Maloney.

Who would ye like to see get this important role for us couch fans?

I think these are big boots to fill and I can’t think of anyone who can provide the mix of humour and fairness and at times playground superviser that lyster provides. I have never warmed to Des Cahill on the evening show, nor never liked Spillane when he did it who I felt was too ridgit.

I would like to see Jacqui Hurley be given a chance, she has done well on the sports show she presents.

Jacqui wrecks my head so hopefully not.

I'd fear Des Cahill will get it. He's grand where he is on the Sunday Game review.

Jacqui is good at her sports news presenting but can't see her good against a panel.

Joanne Cantwell be perfect for the job.

Des Cahill or Dara O' Cinneide. Dara probably has no chance though.

I wouldn't watch if Cantwell got it.

Look at RTE's recent hirings in all departments. It'll be a female host I'm willing to bet.

I'd have a preference for Darragh M Maloney but Dara O Cinneide would be a great choice.

RTE will probably take the easy way out and appoint Des Cahill.

O'Cinneide is very good, excellent on TG4 Seo Sport and anything else I've seen him on. Maloneywis a brilliant commentator, both in GAA and soccer. I'd prefer if they put Ger 'Consternation' Canning out to grass and gave Dara all the big gigs, but maybe he has ambitions to do more presenting.

Am expecting a call from RTE in the next few days

That Cork bird from Ireland' fittest family and the dancing competition will probably be in the frame seeing as she's on everything else.

Maybe a job for Cora too when she gets tired of Oz.

I would fear that Joanne Cantwell might get it. I hate this tendency she has to ask the "hard questions" instead of just facilitation discussion. Lyster was relatively good at that although very often when discussion go decent it was all "for another day" which of course never came.

I find Cahill very good on the night programme. To be honest I nearly think that's a more important role and would fear who might replace him if he moved. For consummate professionalism Darragh Moloney would be ideal but he might not want to be pigeon-holed there every weekend in the summer with World Cup and Euros every couple of years.

Dara Ó Cinnéide is very good and likeable.

Michéal Ó Domhnall the current TG4 presenter I am sure is well admired.

Yeah Dara was very good on Seo Sp.Such a shame it was decommissioned.

I don't think my fellow county woman has the personality for television.

    More suited to radio. :)

I think the guy fronting tg4 games is very good. Its weird hearing speak in english every so often. Then again alot of it could be to do with decent pundits they get i.e. not attention seeking.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,879 ✭✭✭kala85

Cahill is diabolical and really beginning to get on my nerves. Seems to be clueless sometimes even though he seems to specialise 0 in gaa.

Evanne ni chuilain would be good. Dara o cinneide was very good on tg4 sports show. Eamonn Horan from the news or dara maloney that does the soccer.

I would like Parkinson actually but having listened to him having Brolly on the podcast last week he simply couldn't shut him up. My preference would be a wholesale clear out. There's so many good pundits and analysts out there now if you listen to GAA podcasts that won't get their shot on RTE but they provide much better analysis than the old gang on the sunday game.

Well Spillane did present the evening Sunday Game show for a number of years before Cahill so there is precedent.

I`ll see your Brolly precedent, and raise you a Spillane conniption.
