Can I ask what do you do before letting the rams out, they are great results!

Mainly belclare/lleyn crosses with a bit of romney in the mix as well.

The main thing was the obvious one. Seperated them after weaning and gave the thin ones grass and the fat ones followed behing them so they were all in the same condition going to the ram. Gave them a good shot of vitamans/minerals and made sure i had plenty of rams with them (5 mature rams and a ram lamb to every 200 ewes)as I used the ram effect on them. ;)

Belclare will do the biz for you alright if you want prolificacy, Our lamb group coordinator averages over 2.5 consistently in his belclare cross, even his suffolks averaged 2.2 this year

Scanned today 1.65 including emptys rams not away that long so hoping some off them will be in lamb as I usually scan around 1.8 1.9.... will be scanning ewe lambs in a month so will run the emptys thru then aswell... what's most common practice with empty ewes? Run them till mart as no point keeping if she's not paying her way or give them another chance?

I'll scan them again and anything not in lamb is getting the road... I said mart because I won't have room inside till fatten them so marts best option for me at that time off year... hoping most off them will be in lamb tho just looking like I'm gonna have a spread out lambing

    29 single
    21twins
    2 triplets
    0 empty

Lowest scan for a few years. Alot of singles in the horned ewes.

Scanned ewe lambs and emptys today none off the horneys that were scanned empty the first time are in lamb.. few off the crossbreds were though so average including emptys up till 1.77 still lower than I hoped but workable... ewe lambs scanned 22.... 4empty 10 singles 6 doubles 2 trips 1.27 including emptys 1.65 not including emptys happy enough with that the way the price off lambs is at the min.
