Nice one. Good to have another station to fall back on when Nova finally turn to the darkside :D

The most recent dozen songs as I'm typing -

    Alice Cooper - Hey Stoopid
Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell (which they bizarrely cut short!)
The Scorpions - Send Me An Angel
    Moving Oos - Romancer
Neil Young - Rocking In The Free World
Iron Maiden - Fear Of The Dark
Dizzy Mizz Lizzy - Made To Believe
AC/DC - For Those About To Rock
My Chemical Romance - Welcome To The Black Parade
    Guns N Roses - Yesterday
    Led Zeppelin - Black Dog
    Motörhead - Heartbreaker

Got that one bookmarked anyway. :)

Sadly ended up listening to the breakfast show on a, bus this morning. Those utter, utter clowns who present it were absolutely raving about "legend" Ed Sheerin. Station is fcuked.

It's ironic that Conor Irwin has become such a "clown", when he was previously a newsreader.

I really don't mind them. In fact I much prefer them to the morning comedy shows on the likes of FM104, Today FM and 4FM. I briefly switched to RTE Gold but went back to Nova fairly quickly when Will Leahy started that crap.

I may be missing something here. How is that "ironic"?

Because news is supposed to be serious.

Can't see any reason why he must now be taken seriously because he used to be a newsreader.

So not really ironic that someone who once read the news is a fcuking clown on a light entertainment radio breakfast show. Can't see any reason why he must now be taken seriously because he used to be a newsreader.

Funnily enough they played Ironic by Alanis earlier. I know Ed Byrne made his name saying it but nothing in that song is ironic. Really proved Americans/Canadians don't understand Irony.

They're only dying to anoint Sheeran as a 'Nova Artist'. But they're easing him in, by the looks of it. First, introduce small snippets of him on 'The Dirt', maybe play one of his tracks on Jukebox Hero, before you know it, he's on regular rotation. Radio Nova: It's 'Rock,' Jim, but not as we know it.

Oh, please God no. It's bad enough that Today FM, Q102, 4fm, etc. play him. No matter what station has been turned on in work, Ed bloody Sheeran will play at some point. And, my colleagues won't listen to Nova, much to my chagrin!

Has anyone got the stripped back song yet? I was sure it was Addicted to Love by Robert Palmer but I'm not sure now.

Nope. Haven't a clue. Think I'll have to wait for the lyrics to come in

A grand would be nice now.

Only Pat Courtenay could have the LUAS bell doing the tune of Jingle Bells :D

He's messed around with that bell before doing other tunes.

Anyone else slightly irked by the guy who does little announcements on Nova? Just sounds weird. Like he just wondered in and spoke into the mic?

Nearly 8 o'clock, here comes the news.
You can win a prize for just guessing the year? Yeah, you can win a prize for just guessing the year.
Some news is fecked up, but our fecked up news is really fecked up!

I'm sure I have those quotes wrong but you should know what I mean if you listen in the mornings.

It wouldn't surprise me if that's exactly what happened.

Merry Christmas, my fellow (long suffering) Nova listeners.

Currently playing the news from Christmas Eve. They seem to have endless news problems.
