Polota-Nau to Leicester confirmed. Missed that yesterday.....

Well over 60 caps so still available for selection to the Wallabies.

Jaysus they're fairly dropping like flies in the baabaas Tonga game! Cronin limped off after 8, hopefully the rest of the Irish lads survive.

First 20 mins were good fun but second 20 mins were pretty messy (and not in a fun BaaBaa way)

This is an absolutely desperate match. Conditions must be horrible.

Their pricing was all wrong. €30-€40 for a seat in the stand??? I would have considered €20- €25.

Ailish Egan, Maz Reilly, Nora Stapleton, Tania Rosser, Jackie Shiels. Egan scored.

They were good in terrible conditions. Hope they keep the team going

I was in the east terrace if there was 1000 people I'd be amazed and a huge amount left during the game

If you had Munster going up against the Barbarians I'm sure the attendance would have been a bit better, even if they only had a skeleton squad.

Beauden Barrett, Rieko Ioane, Owen Farrell, Maro Itoje, Israel Folau

World Rugby player of the year: It's Folau vs Farrell for me.

Ioane should cakewalk the promising new player award.

Based on what I've seen this season across the hemispheres and the competitions, my World XV 2017 would be something like

    1. Moody (NZ)
    2. Guirado (Fra) although Creevy (Arg) and at times Marx (SA) are also in the mix
    3. Furlong (Ire)
    4. Retallick (NZ)
    5. Itoje (Eng)
    6. SOB (Ire) - yes, yes I've moved him to 6, I know
    7. Cane (NZ)
    8. McMahon (Aust) - but no real standout candidates at 8
    9. Murray (Ire)
    10. Barrett (NZ) but Sexton (Ire) could just as easily have this slot
    11. Ioane (NZ)
    12. Farrell (Eng)
    13. ?, not a stellar year for world 13s
    14. Hodge (Aust) - although I think he's played 11 more than 14
    15. Folau (Aust)

I never got the hype about Davies but last season and the Lions tour really changed my opinion of him. He's a quality player.

Davies has been one of the best backs in the world the past 2 years. I saw Beauden Barrett said he thought he was the best player he'd played against.

Sam Warburton is considering taking a year long sabbatical (talks of retiring at 30/31). Its on rugbylad twitter but there is quotes from sportsmail attributed to Warburton

I wouldn't believe a word from rugbylad but the guy needs to do something. Only plays a handful of games each season due to so many injuries.

Munster v Maori all blacks last year was a sell out in a similar situation without the internationals.

Thats a massive blow to wales and scarlets.

    Ah that's a massive shame. He's a class act.

  • Registered Users Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

6 months means he could be back for Scarlets' run-in. It would be a pity for the Pro14 if he's not involved by the playoffs.

Bulls vs Stormers pre-season game to be played in LA in February 2018 alongside a USA vs Argentina "XV" game.
