Yeah, for the most part. California Games / Impossible Mission / Speedball / Spindizzy being the only exceptions, from memory anyway. Disappointed there's no Paperboy / Spy Hunter / Manic Miner / Boulder Dash or any of the Dizzy games.

Sly spy secret agent/midnight resistance/flimbos quest and that circus game should all have been on it

Casino Royale probably, I got that with the PS3 I think.

That circus game was crazy and Flimbos Quest was an awesome platformer. For Midnight Resistance you'd be beter off getting the arcade version for mame.

Brought the young lads to see Thor yesterday. Great entertainment and a very enjoyable movie with lots of actual lols throughout.
If you have any interest in the series its well worth making the effort to see it - when you're finished running nightfalls and raiding of course!

Agreed, probably the best individual Marvel movie.

Agreed, probably the best individual Marvel movie.

Below both Captain America sequels for a start and i will have NO argument on that score.

Would have it below Guardians 1 and Avengers 1 as well. probably next on the list.

Winter Soldier was a fantastic movie.
Civil War felt more like Avengers Lite than a CA sequel. Still a cracking movie though.

Ragnarok was pretty solid, humor was very well done I thought.

    winter soldier is the job

First Iron Man was cool but it went off the rails afterwards although in fairness anything with Mickey Rourke in it is taking a chance. The press conference at the end when Stark looks into the media and says "I am Iron Man"

Mass Effect Andromeda going for €20, never played mass effect previously, could I and should I jump right in? Not looking for anything too complicated, bit of fun gunning with good story and a little bit of customisation.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,870 ✭✭✭✭Generic Dreadhead

Did you play any of the 1st trilogy?

Nope, should I? I'll be picking up a ps3 soon.

They have patched out the worst of the terrible animation, but it's still not great, don't expect horizon zero dawn visuals.

Game play is actually fairly fun.
Story is not as good as mass effect 1 or 2.
Id say on par with 3.
    Lots of side quests etc.

Well worth it for €20 squid.

I'm over 75 hours in and not finished yet.

If you don't go in expecting HZD or witcher 3 it's good.

Multiplayer is co-op horde mode and peer to peer so a laggy mess mostly, and is very loot box focused, it's almost impossible to unlock top tier characters and weapons without buying loot boxes.
It's the worst game I've seen yet for them. Bit that's ea for you.

It's a new (cancelled now) trilogy so knowledge of the first trilogy would be useful, but it's self contained story so you don't NEED to have played them.

Well it's only 8 months old and €20 seems like a bargin, I'm looking for a decent story and tasty combat, not that pushed about stuff outside of the main story as that's just a bonus if I enjoy the campaign.

I've seen some of the animation jokes and they did/do look bad but surely most of that is fixed and for €20 I can see past it.

For €20 it would want to be giving me a reach around :P

Combat I would not describe as tasty.

It's not a great game and even at 20 I'd struggle to recommend it. The original trilogy is my favourite series, played each game about 5 times or so. I beat Andromeda but will never go back to it.

Don't like the open world aspect of it and feel it was a lot of wasted potential and ideas.

I would be up for a new ME game, in the sane universe, but that title was a mess imo.

You'd be way better off trying to pick up the original trilogy. One is janky and a little tough to play (combat wise) but you get used to it then it's grand, with an engaging story. Two is amazing. Great game play and story. Three was great til the end, imo, but loved it overall.

Yeah most of the crap animations are gone, still a few floating Around though.

Around mid game theirs a cut scene(more of a ingame animation) where a npc runs away during a side quest and as he runs away his torso and head spin back towards you as his legs point in the direction he is running.

I got it twice and there's a few more like that, they patched the big ones.

I can definitely recommend ME:2 and ME:3. You can even get a "comic" thingy with 6x Pick X or Y questions that can essentially decide how you would have played ME:1, allowing you to feel like you experienced the story and made the choices without playing the game which is more dated than the other 2

With the amount of games you have you already want to play, I cannot see a reason to drop 20 quid on it.
Your time and money would be better spent on other games

Watching border control programs. Immigration officer just saved a lads photo to a FLOPPY DISC! circa 2004 I think. Feels like way longer since that would have been a thing.

You'd be surprised how many places still use old technology.
Solicitors we support still use XP, BOI actually did as well up til recently.

Central Bank still relies on a fax machine for one of their most high risk jobs.

Working in IT can be a fair eye opener.

we only have a certain amount of space to save stuff in work because all out files are manually backed up at night....

we constantly run out of space and have to delete stuff. I **** you not.

Remember working in a bank in 2004 and having to manually switch the backups each morning. Given the bank in question.... maybe they were destroyed anyway.

We only left XP behind this year and that was because of necessity when changing to a new system which couldn't run on it! One stubborn so and so refused to change because she was "dick of all the changes". Our email server is approaching maximum capacity because the MD and two senior managers hoard emails from a decade ago, maintaining they are all important! They're not... Some of the people they were corresponding with are dead...
