Any write up on the naomh eoin game - final I guess in cooraclare..

Was in cooraclare and at the hurling. The junior games were supposed to be good encounters espically the naomh eoin kilmurry match

Clondegad pulled off a huge shock by beating Miltown comfortabley they will take beating now would be some story after ballyea last year if Tony Kelly and Co return the favor to the ballynacally club

The hurling final was an excellent game. Clooney quin were excellent in the first half. Were lucky in the 2nd . Keith Hogan pulled them out of the fire on a few occasions with some point blank stops and a penitly save from Jamie shanahan

Shanahan had a stormer as did senda morey and Brian Corry. But there best was not enough to get over the line. The bridge have huge question marks in the full back line . Captain feral Lynch had a field day in the second half and kept them ticking over wining several frees and getting one or two himself

Heard one or two people on the way out suggest that Clooney had missed there chance. I beg to differ an give them a huge chance the next day. The bridge have had problems at the back all year and look like a unit exposed

Great game highlights on tg4 Monday night. Replay most likely next weekend

I was at the Naomh Eoin match. Finished with a 0.15-1.11 victory. It was a compelling encounter that both teams led at a few different stages of the game. Although the pitch wasn't great, the football played was exciting. I made the last 10 mins of the Clondegad game afterwards. Got 5/2 about them for the final last night.

Expected I guess, with the football the following weekend.

It must be said, but yesterday should go down as one of the better county finals of the last few years. Exciting game, some good quality scores and great heart and effort by both teams. Hopefully it will be the same again next week. CQ should have nothing to fear either, they are well coached and organised, solid at the back and a few players that can cause the Bridge problems up front, and a top free taker. Still would fancy to Bridge to scrape through though.

Double header with kilmaley v muroe/bothar
Or garryspilane in the Munster IHC . The Limerick final was a draw yesterday and the replay Wednesday night has the makings of a great game it's self

Taught the same about yesterday . Bridge have huge problems in the full back line though. I expect the fear factor to be gone the next day for Clooney it's anyones in my opinion . Expect it to go to the wire again

I wouldn't fancy playing in the second match, the pitch will be destroyed with the rain that's promised

A heavy pitch would actually suit the Bridge more, as they have a physical side. Taught CQ gave the Bridge problems with their pace, especially runs through the center and on puckouts. Both Birdge midfielders were taken off.

Was thinking the same but the clarepeople are running the story that it's a double header next Sunday. I still think there is a meeting Tuesday night to confirm all the fixtures so there could be a few changes yet

Lot of confusion whether the monthly Clare county board meeting will take place tonight or next Tuesday. Can someone clarify as Derrick Lynch from Clare FM says its next Tuesday while Clare GAA say it is on tonight.

Clare Gaa said next Tuesday with the fixtures meeting tonight.

The intermediate match is down for 1
15 and the senior replay for 3.30, the pitch will be in bits by the end of the replay

A former Co. Board chairman told me tonight it will be in the Park before the Senior Final. Weather permitting.

Cheers. A Naomh Eoin player just texted me the same. Would they not be better off just playing in Cooraclare rather waiting for forecast? All previous championship games between the 2 have always been played there

It would make sense, but sure why not make 1 of the teams play an hour from home and have the others in their own parish.

Orange wind warning for Clare on saturday.

I have a number of queries for all posters from Clare

Firstly can anyone confirm whether the Clare senior hurling championship final replay will take place in Cusack Park this Sunday taking into account the very adverse weather that this part of the country is experiencing at present? Also can posters here clarify whether the Kilmaley v Murroe Boher Munster Intermediate Club Hurling Quarter-Final will be moved to Sixmilebridge instead of Ennis as planned?

Finally can anyone here tell me who will be in charge of the Clare U17 Footballers for 2018 and will Seamus Clancy become the Clare U20 Football manager next year also?

Any feedback on these questions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

as things stand there will be a double header in the park , the junior semifinal between bodyke and ennistymon has been moved from sixmilebridge to clareabby so the likelihood of the bridge hosting the munster intermediate game is out it would seem , anything is possible with the county board but no change as things stand

as far as i know the meeting on tuesday night , the monthly meeting in clareabby will sort out the management for the coming year underage as far as i know there has been no appointments yet

one game today in the junior hurling championship , bodyke see off ennistymon after a replay , they now meet O'C Mills 2nd string in the final , hopfully from a neutral prospective its bodykes year , they have been knocking on the door for years now at this level and deserve a crack at intermediate level , win lose or draw the final they will represent clare in the junior munster championship next month

Double header going ahead in the park today. Some improvement on that pitch over the last few years.

    sixmilebridge 1-20 1-14 clooney quinn

not the same humdinger as last week but a descent contest for roughly 45 minutes before the favorites pulled away , cloony\quinn changed there approach to the game from last week going direct testing the flaky sixmilebridge full backline , the bridge countered by using seanda morey as a sweeper to weather the storm forcing CQ into a second half plan b which never really materialized

clooney never really got a hold of the game while staying with the bridge they never looked like they were really going to threaten , the bridge had 3 diffrent scorers in the first 3 minutes of the game while clooney only had two diffrent scorers by half time in ryan corry and peter duggen with 6 out of clooneys 7 as they trailed 0-7 to 0-9 at the break

an early bridge point at the start of the second from a jamie shannahan free which set the tone for the second half , brian corry who won that free went on a run minutes later to scramble the ball over the line to put 6 between the sides , two superb alan mulreidy points and a shane golden effort on left the game out of clooneys reach 1-14 to 0-11 with 15 to go

try as they might clooney couldn't find the back of the bridge until 2 minutes into stoppage time when michael corry found the net from a rebound ,
seanda morey picked up man of the match , alan mulreidy and brian corry pushed him close , while clooney were too over reilinet on peter duggan for scores , and they have goalkeeper keith hogan to thank for keeping them in the game with some excellent stops , maybe a call up to the senior squad in on the cards after a fine season

the bridge meet the winners of thurles sars and ballygunner in two weeks time , they will probably need to find another gear to jump that hurdle the next day out

    kilmaley 1-20 0-22 murroe/boher

kilmaley advance to the next round of the munster IHC after a last minute mikey o'malley 65' sealed the faith of the limerick side who were playing there 3rd game in a week

dirven on by an exhibition from half forward seanie tobin murroe looked like they were going to pull away and win this one at several stages in the second half and in extra time , daire keane's early first half goal acted as a huge turning point in a close game

while comparing the county final this was a drop in standard for sure , and it probably would not have worked out as well for kilmaley had the limerick side more time to prepare and recover after last wednesday nights win , and the fact that diarmuid byrnes was injured and only played a small part were huge factors in this win

in there defense this was there first real test of the year and it will stand to them from here out but no doubt there is an awful lot for colm clancy's men to work on ,

I'm not sure CQ changed there approach too much more that the Bridge got their match ups spot on. Seadna picked up Duggan and Paidi Fits took Lynch and both won their battles I felt.

fair enough but i felt they seemed to run at the bridge alot less today from the last day , and were in two minds at times to launch one into the square or have a shot themselves , they only hit 4 wides in the whole game last week they probably hit that number in the first 10 or 15 today
