It's not meant to be, is it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,073 ✭✭✭✭PARlance

**** that. We have ourselves to blame as much as that pr1ck in the middle.

Unlucky guys. Vaughan must be sick. He's cost ye an All Ireland I reckon

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,490 ✭✭✭✭km79

    I can't believe we didn't win that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 585 ✭✭✭CiarraiAbu2

Vaughan getting sent off - would have been a free in.
    Penalty decision
Free at end of first half

When your up against a team like Dublin everything has to go your way, just didn't today.

Thought Aidan was tired as well, maybe should have thrown him in full forward.

So so sorry guys. Am as gutted as if it were my own county.

    :(

    gutted not da word.
    Bench won it in end.
I hope he gets no abuse but have to think twice this year we lost by point and moment of madness by our backs losing the head and have to wonder what would have happened if we had da extra man as should have!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,009 ✭✭✭Panrich

Lol - never will you beat the Dubs! Reality hurts eh :)

Well at least you're €50 lighter and the best team ever looked a bit less than that today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,679 ✭✭✭✭Zeek12

Absolutely gutted.....but so proud of the boys. They were heroic. Hearts like lions.
Plenty of pundits said it would be over at half time....but those Mayo lads were never going to be intimidated.

I still believe. We will be back next year!

Congrats to the Dubs. 3 in a row is a brilliant achievement.....but look out, Mayo are far from finished! Our day will come

Donal vaughan's reckless and brainless challenge cost mayo at least a replay and probably the all ireland truth be told.

It was absolute lunacy at this level in an all ireland final when it was a free in and the dublin player was going to be sent off.

Mayo - don't think you could have done any more today - outstanding effort - heartbreaking outcome... (a Rossie)....

asteroids over berlin banned. Any trolling in this thread will be dealt with severely. Don't be a dick!

Hard luck Mayo fans. This team just constantly comes back and I wouldn't bet against them being back in 12 months.

Mayo lost twice in this years championship, Dublin didn't lose any games. That's the simple story of both teams. But one team will be remembered and one team won't. That's the fickle nature of sport.

Not good enough yet again...possibly the worst Dublin performance in the last 8 years and still couldn't get over the line.

Dublin played well , there's been too much nonsense about how awful Dublin were as a way of getting at Mayo.

Donal Vaughan's moment of madness is what cost Mayo.

Every year since 2013 I have thought that the Mayo team would fall off and not challenge the year after. I've been wrong every time. I hope I'm wrong again.

Ah I've really had enough of this, I'm sure the players will give it another good go next year but I can't lift my head up from this one.

Plenty went wrong from us of course, but when every single important decision is given against you, it really leaves a mountain that's too large to climb.

Best of luck to the Mayo ladies next week. Not sure myself if I can get too excited for it at this stage but I'd love to see forty thousand make the trip east again, they deserve it to be fair.

Hard luck Mayo. Sport can be cruel. Each final since 2012 ye had a chance or winning but haven't taken it. Donal Vaughan cost you the game in a moment of madness. Not sure how many more times you can come back but outside of Cork I would love to see you getting that cup in the coming years.

    By a point again..... Balls.

    Edit: and the ref ffs.

Challenging is no good to them at this stage. The need to go on and win an all ireland.

This team is good enough to do it if they iron out a few things but I don't know if they will be able to do that as they seem to make the same mistakes every year in the final.

I wouldn't blame Vaughan. Small Joe probably wouldn't have sent off John Small anyway if Vaughan hadn't got involved.

Mayo cost themselves and Dublin had too much composure when it mattered.

What Donal Vaughan did was unforgivable.

The ref was fairly alright and I desperately wanted Mayo to win.

    18-mo-sam.

    Let's have some positivity.
Credit to the players they died with their boots on

What he did was stupid. And we'll forgive him that (in a few hours).

From a kerry person - Mayo, hold your heads up. There was absolutely nothing in it. Dublin were hailed as superstars, way beyond every other team but ye were right beside them so superstars also. Well done.

    Mayo were heroic today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,109 ✭✭✭Oldtree

Someone remind me on the steps rule?
And what happens if a player punches another player on the face right in front of the ref????
    Arm around the throat......
I could go on and on.........

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,490 ✭✭✭✭km79

That's the toughest of all to take
It was there for us today

We're long passed taking solace in being heroic losers. We were good in lot of areas, very poor in some. Got a few key decisions against us but ultimately had the winning of the game in our own hands.

We blew it. We will be back though.
