For the story at the start of how he kept cocking up the recording, yes.

To get a feel for how sound and level headed Mick is, yes.

To actually find out anything interesting about Saipan that we didnt already know, no.

Do you actually think you're going to hear anything new or interesting about Saipan 15 years and thousands of interviews later?

Ah come on did you listen to the interview? If there is nothing new don't even bother with the paltry couple of questions Richie asked.

But if you are going to ask, then push him when he gives a half hearted answer.

He alluded to him and Roy being destined to fall out....well dig into that. Why not. You have him there. Instead Ken had to fill in the blanks after the interview.

I do hate the live recording pods. Terrible quality and playing up to the audience. Only works live.

I must say I didn't think they'd be able to pull off the 5 pods a week throughout the summer, but they pulled it off fairly seamlessly in fairness. I suppose they were a bit lucky with an eventful lions series and lots of good GAA to talk about, but they did better than I thought they would.

I really like Ritchie's style, but I'd love him to get away from Ireland players a few times. We love them, and all that, but we've heard from them all loads of times.

The Quinn one was excellent, though.

Sure the whole thing is Richie asking his mates/colleagues, expect to see Hamann/Dunphy/Given next.
Dunno why they included him as a presenter/interviewer tbh, Eoin is far better at it and its another guy to pay

I would enjoy hearing Richie on more of the football podcasts in general. Hes a good pundit in my opinion and would probably be even better on a more free flowing format like the podcast

Eoin shouts too much too at these things. Doesn't suit him.

Not sure why my first post is about Richie Sadlier... Seems like a great guy and very funny but I don't think he adds anything as a presenter or pundit.

Very shaky on RTE for the Super Cup, Duff and Kenny Cunningham outshone him.

Find his accent pretty difficult to listen too also.

    his accent?

I would consider him to be an excellent speaker. No verbal ticks nor lack of distinction either.

What's so wrong with his accent?

Nothing wrong with how he speaks or what have you, just find that particular Dublin accent slightly grating.

It's a whiny, grating whingy tone.
He has nothing to say as far as I'm concerned

That's harsh, his accent is pretty innocuous. He played his way up through Millwall ffs. I respect the man, even if he could do with some basic sound engineering training.

His voice grates on me too, for reasons I can't fully explain; a whingy tone. I don't know what he brings to the table in terms of insight and analysis either - he once owned a constipated dog? I think the well of stories from his footballing years is running awful dry at this stage.

Ah that's hardly fair. What about that game of soggy biscuit with his teammates?

Brian Kerr was an excellent one too.

I like Richie, I usually enjoy listening to his take on things. Seems like a sound guy too

Actually, yeah, each of those were brilliant too.

    Especially Kerr.

Is Derval O Rourke on often? Jesus, that was terrible.

I liked her and thought she offered a different perspective than we normally get on the podcast. She definitely repeated herself a lot though.

I really enjoyed her this week. would be great to see her involved in Irish athletics more, see cleary has great passion for it.

We have enough people in roles in Irish sport for the money, need more people who actually care

Ken had a piece in the Irish Times yesterday, and I'm sure I heard him on Sean O'Rourke's Radio 1 show in the morning.

    Busy fella right now.

Ken Early on Premier League Preview 7 August 2017

"51,000 Reds at the Aviva stadium, Dublin". "Dublin is an LFC City" said Klopp,

"I think there is nothing more guaranteed to really annoy supporters of the League of Ireland than the sight of the heaving Aviva stadium with 50,000 people all wearing Red New Balance kits, singing You'll Never Walk Alone before packing the stadium to the rafters for a game, friendly fake match between Liverpool & Athletic Bilboa"

Are LOI supporters a homogeneous group?

That is a podcast I want to listen to

I found that of a bit of a strange comnent from Ken. I kind of get his point, but since when did he care about the League of Ireland? He makes his own living poring over every miniscule event in The Premier League looking for significance. Sounded a bit condescending and slightly hypocritical to me.
