Videogame music is beautiful sometimes. Was listening to the Yoshi's Island soundtrack earlier. So nostalgic for me, my eyes were getting a little moist. :-)

You didn't happen to watch the video by 'My Life in Gaming' on video game soundtracks today, did you?

Now you've got me listening to the Donkey Kong Country soundtrack the past 30 minutes.

Side note: I've never played Mario World 2 even with 1 being probably my favourite game of all time. I will rectify that on the SNES Mini.

I'll watch that on the coffee break in work now. Love a good video game soundtrack

It would seem that Minter and Atari came to terms and have released, as you have suggested, the TxK editions he probably had all but completed but wasn't allowed to release.
No harm though, TxK is outstanding, on both the big and small screen.
The great thing it suggests a relationship rebuilt, with more games to come.

No, didn't see it, but thanks for the link, will check it out.

Definitely play SMW2. Amazing graphics, effects, level design and music. SMW1 probably has more to it with secret exits etc. but SMW2 is an amazing experience.

Just waiting for Retropie 4.2 to download here. Going to install it on a Pi3. Gave my old Pi2 Retropie to my brother months back and been meaning to get setup again. Looking forward to the extra performance of the 3.

Super Mario World 2.... Yoshi's Island?
Yeah, amazing looking if very easy game, so many clever visual effects.
I also enjoyed the N64 follow up, Yoshi's Story, though it wasn't as popular.
Wooly World is tremendous fun though.

Just watched that VG OST video, very good. Although a lot of the vinyl stuff they talk about is on my shelf or on my hitlist. Its some expensive game to get into, constantly new releases and all they all add up

Been wanting that Snatcher vinyl for a while now. Never had the spare cash to pick it up. I hopefully order it in the next few weeks

    Snatcher vinyl

Any chance of a link to that JB?

    Retro enough,
Sonic Mania is out, I've been playing it for the last hour by downloading it from the Russian eshop on the Switch, saved a tenner in the process.
    It's incredible.
Just now trying it with the Pokken controller, a special dedicated controller for the Pokken game on the WiiU but patched to also work on the Switch, and it's incredible stuff.
Plus, you get scanlines to make it extra gorgeous.
    Fantastic stuff.

It's from the site of the upcoming games expo in Dublin.

He'll never be the opinionated dickhead I am. Also his username is not as l33t as mine.

I'd say his idea of retro is probably a 60gb PS3!

Anyone else get their Token stuff? Glad to finally have but not sure why it says "limited edition tee" on the tee and hot just Token. Hopefully I can modify it.

Chatted to Naoise on IG a few times, he seem like a nice chap imo.

I still find it funny how theres so many youtube stars who have 10+ million subscribers, but I've never heard of any them.

Im pretty proud of myself really. The only commentary on gaming should be yourself screaming "****" when you die on a final boss.

I play pinball in my garage thats separate to the house. I've grown quite fond of letting out a few roars when I get a ****ty ball...can't wait to go to Token

The only youtubers I subscribe to give informative videos, the likes of Kim Justice, Superbunnyhop etc. I do have a few that do playthroughs but I can only stomach the highlight reels and then their reactions aren't over the top just to get likes and subscriptions they're just funny people chatting with their friends, people like Adam Plaze (who I mostly like for his views on movies, the playthroughs are a bonus).

I suppose when I was a kid I would sit through any old **** for hours just to see some gameplay, so maybe it's the same thing here.

This is the bit where he tells people to use roms
    and provides a link!

And he was involved with the GamerCon as well!

Sorry for using the same name Retr0gamer, it's just was I use for posting online, I never intended to step on anyone's toes.

Also I know roms are retro gaming sacrilege, I just thought it would be a handy way for anybody who was thinking of getting into retro gaming to maybe try out some games first.

13 posts already.... keep up the good work!

Might want to avoid the links to roms on your page, games companies really really don't like that.

haha I thought I'd try and up my game from roughly one post per year.

Anyone got any idea what's worth buying for the Famicom Disk System?
I already have Super Mario Bros 2, what else is good??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,798 ✭✭✭Jack burton

    it looks cool!

Isnt Castlevania on it enhanced too?

Looking to get Night Trap on CD 32X myself. Prices for it are a bit rich for me at the minute though. I really want to get a CD 32X game though, just because I can now! Thanks again Enternow (or artist formerly known as)
