The new recipe, after taste of ass

I assume they've gone and fúcked Lucozade Orange too? Love that drink, has been a while since I've purchased though.

Whenever I see "New And Improved Recipe" I tend to roll my eyes because although it may be a new recipe, it sure as hell ain't improved.

I loathe seeing those words on the packaging of anything that I use to like.

It's such a ruse and it's never better!

It would be great to see "The old and dangerous recipe" onto labels and packaging... I bet sales would go through the roof

Confectionary in particular has gone down the tubes. The taste and texture of some chocolate is totally different than what it used to be :/

The new thing is to discontinue every food product I like, even the new ones that have only been on the market for five minutes. What doesn't get discontinued gets watered down or is padded out with..I don't know what...cornish pasties are more cubes of potatoes than anything else (not that I've tried any since turning vegetarian) and Barry's tea now seems to be composed mainly of floor sweepings.

I used to like Dolmio stir-in pasta sauce when I was a child but I noticed when they took Anna, Luigi and Guiseppe off the label it really went downhill.

If your talking about junk food then for me then all junk is nowhere near as nice for me as I get older. I've become intolerant to crap food such that I feel sick after eating it. Not a bad thing really.

Bit off topic but this happened to my brother a few years ago and the many doctors he went to never worked it out. Pretty much everything started to taste and smell bad. He says it's slowly coming back to normal thankfully, or he's just getting used to it.

Cadburys Roses obviously aren't up to much these days. (Worth a mention as Christmas slowly creeps in)

KFC gravy. Used to love the stuff, now it's tasteless. (I know how it's made, don't care, still loved it)

Bought one yesterday, was some chalky imitation of the once legendary bar.

    Phuck Phenylalanine.

Now, I have no conspiracy theories about phenylalanine, I just don't like the way stuff tastes with it. For years, you only had to worry about phenylalanine in diet drinks. No problem, if like me, you don't drink diet stuff. Dr. Pepper was my favourite soft drink (should be available in restaurants like America, but whatever), but they added phenylalanine to it and now it tastes like crap. I begrudgingly went back to the Irish staple of Lucozade, which regular drinkers of it will know, has also added phenylalanine recently. It's gross now.

So, I'm drinking Irn Bru instead, which is probably turning my insides orange, but at least it doesn't have phenylalanine...yet.

This problem of crap tasting food is also compounded by the fact that as we age we lose taste buds so we cant taste as well as we did when we were say,12
    How depressing

    Lucozade is rotten now.
It's all to do with this new sugar tax so they have to reformulate all the drinks to contain less than 5% sugar or else they get shafted

I find that is only a problem with psuedo-food and processed rubbish, basically everything mentioned so far in the thread.

*faint smug smile creeps across face*

Now maybe it's my aging taste buds but fruit doesn't taste as good either nowadays in my elderly opinion.ðŸ˜In particular pears..I remember you could buy them individually wrapped and they were big, soft and juicy but I find them tasteless now and usually like rocks .

Skips are horrible since they took all the artificial flavourings out.

Even chipper food ain't the same. Used to be an explosion of flavour in the 90s. now it's just okay. Sure, the taste buds are older but they probably used to fry in pure delicious trans fats back then.

Brunch Ice Creams. Feck all spinkles on it anymore.

Cadburys chocolate definitely tastes worse recently actually, since krafts took over. Also the ****ing obsession with putting oreos in everything needs to end.

    It's so true.

I realised a while back I feel ****e after eating crisps.

Not to overstate the impact this has had, but it's literally ruined my life.

TK Red Lemonade for me. They took the sunset yellow sweetener out and since then it tastes like sh*te.

Maybe you just eat it more often than you did 20 years ago when you were presumably a child/teenager, so it tastes less nice? I would agree with you but I'd imagine it's a combination of food formerly being fried in nicer-tasting animal fat and also your subjective experience of pleasure becoming more blunted as you age.

All cadburys chocolate except Boosts and Starbars (nothing else immediately springs to mind) tastes much worse than 10 years ago, and certainly compared to the chocolate in the 90s.

Cheerios are way less sweet than they used to be = bad.

A small one too, but the cream crackers which tesco used to sell for 26 cent were delicious about a year ago, tasted exactly like Jacobs. Now they taste terrible in comparison - Jacobs must have realised they were losing money!

Thank you!! I thought it was just me that noticed they taste like dry cardboard now! If you dipped them in melted butter they'd still be as dry as fcuk.

Yeah I used to love them, then they disappeared for a while and when I saw they had returned I just knew before opening them that they would taste worse! They were just too high of quality for the price they were selling for I suppose.

Cadburys is awful now, Galaxy chocolate tastes so much better. Lindt is still my favourite though, that hasn't changed.

Most yogurts taste waterier and sweeter than they did a few years ago.

I can't touch box cereal anymore, it all tastes like sugary cardboard.

I find that Lindt Lindor are one of the few chocolates remaining that taste as nice as I remember chocolate in general to taste when I was younger. Very rich mind you but really nice!
