I'm suspecting that Lord Varys is a Lannister mole who is letting them know where the Iron Born ships would be and that they were planning to attack Casterly Rock.

We didn't have a full scene of Dany questioning his loyalty and Varys being a sly mofo that said all the things that Dany wanted to hear for nothing.

^^ I will be so disappointed if that turns out to be the case. I can't see what his motivation would be in doing so.

What do we think will happen between Cersei and Euron: she definitely seemed to be leading him on (up the garden path?) in EP3. Maybe she invited Jamie back to her bed to make up in advance for her 'betrayal'?

He cant do much more for her, he gave her 2 Sand Snakes, captured his sister and destroyed the majority of Danys ships in 2 battles.

If Dany decides to attack his fleet with the Dragons in open water or at acnhor somewhere, its game over for Euron.

I have a feeling that Dany isn't going to make it.

My theory is Dany will go beyond being impatient (she's been impatient ever since her brother died) and her ambition will get the best of her. I reckon she'll be drawn into battle with the dragons in the fight against the Night King and, though the battle will be won, she'll perish somehow.

I've been rewatching the series from the start and there's a dream/flashforward at the end of season two where she frees her dragons in Qarth and she goes to a tent north of the wall and meets Khal Drogo and their son. There's also a mention of them being together again "when the sun rises in the West and sets in the East". Not sure if that could refer to her death or the end of winter.

Whatever about Bran and Rickon, he certainly must know about Theon's betrayal of the Starks and taking over of Winterfell.

That would be enough I'd imagine.

That could be foreshadowing but it was meant, at the time, to mean "you'll never see them again." Though context could of course change that, I don't think it's implausible. Some heavy hitters have to go to legitimise the dead as big bad.

I thought that statement was about her having another child?

    Non-book thread dude! :pac:

I think that's only hinted at on the show.

Nope, actually we're both wrong. It was about Khal Drogo.

    About 2:15 in this clip:

I know this is the speculation thread but can we have less of this? There's a difference between predicting what's going to happen and what's actually going to happen. I probably sound like an idiot but there's a reason I don't watch any trailers. To be fair, if I'm giving out about that I should probably just unfollow the thread.

I agree with you. This isn't speculation this is a spoiler for next week as far as I'm concerned.

You can talk about them here, just spoiler tag them. Obviously you can't spoiler tag images, but you can link to them in a spoiler. It's all explained in the OP.

    Like this post:
    Hmm...
The trailer seems to suggest otherwise.

So what exactly does Jon know about that?

Theon betrayed Rob and then pretended to kill Bran and Rickon - does Jon know that? He knows that Rickon is dead obviously, does he know Bran is alive? Did Sam tell him?

    Cannot resist.

    "You know nothing Jon Snow!!"

The images have been removed, the trailer is out for anyone who wants to see more. There is one bit that might be a bit spoilerish regarding further episodes.

To avoid derailing this thread I've created a new thread here to continue the discussion on what's allowed or not allowed in this or the episode threads. Please direct any further comments to the new thread.

    My theory

Cersi and Jamie are related to the targaryens

Tyrion would be more likely. One of these things is not like the others. :)

Curious about Benjen. Will his story about how the children of the forest used the dragonglass (now Jon has a mine full) be useful information later or was he just a way of reinforcing the magic in the wall (to the audience).

People re-animated by fire definitely seem to be more human than those re-animated by ice.

This is all just blind speculation, but I think at least one of the dragons will definitely die, if only for the spectacle, but also to do with the symbolism of the 3 dragons representing the Kahl Drogo, Viserys, her brother, the cruel one, and Rhaegar, her Noble and honourable brother.

If Drogon dies, would this represent the end of the Dothraki, perhaps foretelling their defeat?

If Viserion dies, does this represent the death of the cruel heartless past that her brother and the mad king represent?

If Rhaegal dies, does foretell that Danaerius might be heading towards the path of a queen of ashes along the lines of the mad king?

Its also possible that all 3 dragons could die in one epic battle that completely changes the tide of the war in favour of the Night King.

Man, I have no idea what's gonna happen, but it's gonna be cool.

    Ban billionaires

Someone mentioned a theory to me earlier that, in line with Khal Drogo, that Drogon could be set to die from an infected shoulder wound from the arrow in the battle

I'd like to think the a Dragon couldnt be taken down from an arrow thats coated in poison, it seems highly unlikely considering the amount you'd need to coat the arrow head in and how youd transport them, Cersei was shown who to shot the scorpion awhile back but nothing was mentioned by Qyburn about poison but it is GoT, so I expect to see Drogon killed off in the next 2 or 3 episodes. :pac:
