Anyone still a fancy a kk Tipp final?

Yep, there's a strong chance that's where we're headed - two beaten dockets.

The draw was done live on television and I'm not sure why you think that they would want to keep Tipp and KK apart, makes no sense??

Doesn't matter where it was done. Who sets them up and who monitors it. I'd be thinking that these draws, if they insist on having them, should be done by some party completely independent of RTE and the GAA.

I cannot believe Dublin have conceded home advantage to Tipp

Dublin are already bet before a ball thrown in

Based on this years form, Waterford are favourites, Kilkenny have been very poor. Playing players who are clearly not match day fit, they don't seem to have a game plan only drive in sky scrapers to their full forward line.

I expect Waterford to beat them.

Yeah, maybe someone from the FAI or the IRFU

Yeah, now I wonder what were the REAL chances of Tipp v KK in that draw? :)

I was listening on the radio. Michael Duignan from RTE drawing and some bod from the GAA supervising......................................

That's what I heard and took from it anyway.

The more you see this backdoor system in operation, the more it seems to suit the big boys and the coffers, eh?
KK and Tipp were paired together in 2013. The odds were 2 to 1 that they avoid each other.

    Semple Stadium double header

All Ireland SHC Qualifiers Round 2
Tipperary v Dublin, Semple Stadium, 5pm (E.T if necessary)
Kilkenny v Waterford, Semple Stadium, 7pm (Sky Sports) (E.T if necessary)

Get the one with the lesser chance of being a draw on first, otherwise we'll be here all night.

Same pitch for the Munster Final following day.

Happened in 2013 at this stage of the competition. Both games in fact went to extra time. It was close to midnight and I leaving Thurles that night.

    Dictated by Sky.

Incidentally I'd say SKY can't believe their luck with the two qualifier games they got as part of their package, definitely more high profile that what would have been scoped for in pricing their package.

Ridiculous though that RTÉ are opting for only football again. You'd think with so many games on they could both have matches at 5 & 7 and let people watch whatever.
They could have one football and one hurling each rather one game each.

The TV contracts specify that there'll be no timeslot clashes apparently.

Yea it makes sense not to clash them but I think it's ridiculous that there's 8 senior games on Saturday between football and hurling and only two are being broadcast on tv.

Incredible decision by the GAA to drag four counties to the tiny hamlet
of Thurles for these games! What is wrong with Croke Park?

It's really only dragging Dublin there. Kilkenny and Waterford are basically next door. Traffic will be horrendous though.

Croke Park is hosting a Coldplay concert.

Thurles is great from dublin if you're taking the train. Two good matches and back in Dublin in time for a couple of pints in Ryans or Eamon Rea's on Parkgate Street. Knowing them Kilkenny and Waterford hoors, though, they'd only go and spoil it with extra time ;)

As a Waterford hoor, I wouldn't care about extra time if we manage a win haha.

I'd say they'll be happier with winning Saturday

No consideration for the rest of us at all ;)

I think ye might just do it this time, though, without the need for the extra distance....if (always an if!) Derek lets the handbrake off.

    Possible QF pairings
Kilkenny win, Tipperary win, Clare win = Cork v Kilkenny, Wexford v Tipperary.

Kilkenny win, Dublin win, Clare win = Cork v Kilkenny, Wexford v Dublin.

Waterford win, Tipperary win, Clare win = Draw to decide who Cork and Wexford face.

That makes it even worse? The GAA need to ask themselves for what
purpose was Croke Park built for! I appreciate that they have to look at
all options but this time of the year is the hurling season.
    Only in ****ing Ireland!!!

If the weather is bad at the weekend would the pitch not be in fairly bad shape by time the Munster final actually get's played? 2 senior qualifiers that could go to extra time and a minor match on before it.

Have Galway really been tested seriously yet ???

Beat poor Dublin and Offaly teams and Wexford were a lot weaker than everyone thought they were

Clare are staying very quite and they could be the darkhorses

Beat Tipp and Waterford in knock out league games though.

Clare certainly have some very good players.
