Apologies they prob wud beat Dublin. Thats it. And league results mean nothing come August /September

And they wouldn't beat Kilkenny? Where's the logic there?

For a young team building and improving league results matter greatly.

Honestly, anyone downplaying what Davy Fitz has achieved in year 1 has to just have a personal dislike for the man or hasn't watched Wexford before this year. There isn't a valid argument to say he hasn't worked wonders.

Not to patronize the Wexicans on here but they gave us the hardest game since the league game in Salthill.

I know they beat us in Salthill but we had them on the racks twice and it was our first proper game of the year.... it's too easy to overlook that game.

I think we're the stand out team now, not that we got better lately but that we're the same as 2015 and others have either stagnated or got worse.

I'm not going to say we'll definitely win it this year, but we'll 100% win one of the next three.

I don't know. We've been here before with Galway where everyone gets carried away. At the end of the day they haven't come across a title contender yet and have a long wait without a game to come. Tipp aren't going well but still have by far the best squad of any other team left in my opinion. I actually don't think that Galway get to the final. The long wait for a game is something only Kilkenny have ever really managed to deal with and I just wouldn't have faith in Galway to pull through when the chips are down against a big team.

They've beaten plenty of big teams in recent years though. Just not Kilkenny in a final.

Sunday Game analysts looking for games to be a double header in Croke Park next week. A little research would tell them there's a concert there

Yeah pretty cringey too see that considering they're all getting paid well too know this stuff.

It'll be in thurles the same way it would be if Coldplay wasn't happening. No point playing the game in a soulless half empty croker.

If I was ger Cunningham, Cody or mc Grath I wouldn't want to play Tipp in Thurles. It's there home ground, always worth a few points!

True but teams may have too get used too playing in non neutral venues if the proposed structure comes In

    There's merit in that.
But Galway are consistently hammering teams, albeit counties that won't win Liam this year, in the way Kilkenny did over the years in leinster.
The forwards are consistently stepping up individually and confidence is very high, in their individual skills and the pattern of play.
They dished out a hiding to tipp in a league final so they're definitely not the same animal as other years. Other years galway could be ****e in one game, and reliant on canning .
Big concern is the 5 week layoff. If they have a slow start in the semi, but pull through and win, it should set them up for the final. But the semi is a huge concern, they'll be playing their toughest opponent of the year after 5 weeks of training matches.

Everyone outside of Galway gets carried away, beyond their control. Galway managed the 5-week break ok in 2012 and the current team are probably an improvement on that one. Tipp' are struggling in the FB line and haven't got positions 8-12 fully settled yet either. Galway are due a real test yet though and could get it from Cork in the semi'. (Think Clare will win Munster).

Yeah, now I wonder what were the REAL chances of Tipp v KK in that draw? :)

I was listening on the radio. Michael Duignan from RTE drawing and some bod from the GAA supervising......................................

That's what I heard and took from it anyway.

The more you see this backdoor system in operation, the more it seems to suit the big boys and the coffers, eh?

I was just thinking last night that had Kilkenny and Tipp been drawn together, it would have definitely been held in Nowlan Park as they have a home-away agreement which had been respected in 2013. I can't see the double header being played anywhere except Thurles. Kilkenny have no fear of going there whatsoever.

You would imagine/hope that the so-called-weaker-counties would raise a massive fuss if they felt there was shenanigans.

Anyone still a fancy a kk Tipp final?

Waterford will never get a better chance next Saturday night to beat their old nemises.

They had their chance last year when they were five up after 67 minutes. Waterford seem to have regressed since last season again, I think it will be quite close but Kilkenny will edge it.

There will be a lot of pressure on Waterford for this game, they are strong favourites.

Hardly strong favourites, in fact what would make them strong favourites? They were woeful against Cork.

Too add some empirical evidence, paddy power have Kilkenny just under evens and Waterford at 6/4.

    They really aren't.
Paddy Power have Kilkenny 8/11 favourites.

Kilkenny taking the scenic route through the qualifiers. Both Waterford and Kilkenny will have to empty the tank to get to the next round. It's a massive test for Kilkenny to see if their forward play has improved against a defense like Waterford.

Tipp probably get the tie they wanted. They know themselves they are way off where they want to be, but would think they can beat Dublin regardless.

If Kilkenny win, can they play Wexford in the QF?

    Where are the games?

    No.

If waterford and tipp win and cork lose Munster final, one of them will end up playing cork again though. A lot of ifs and buts there mind.

Really? Seems silly to still be keeping teams apart at the QF stage when theres only 6 teams left

Both provincial final losers kept apart. After that teams who have already met kept apart if possible.

They physically horsed Dublin out of it in the league, regardless of how much trouble is in the camp both of the teams are still the same size so physics alone will see them through

Great to see such a large attendance at a provincial final yesterday.

There should be another good turnout for the Munster Final on Sunday.

The draw was done live on television and I'm not sure why you think that they would want to keep Tipp and KK apart, makes no sense??

Not sure it that arrangement is still in place or not but it is seperate to the agreement re League Finals so going on the championship agreement it would have been in Thurles.

Was at the game meself and the stadium announcer said the 60,000 attendance was a record for a Leinster Hurling Final. It looked to me to be 2 to 1 or maybe even 3 to 1 Wexford fans.

It's funny, you always get people telling you that Wexford fans are one of the best in the country through the good times and the bad times, but in reality if we take the middle estimate of your observations and say that there was 42,500 Wexford fans at yesterday's match yet the last time they met Galway in a championship game there was less that 8,000 in total at the game, the reality is that all counties are the same and it's not just the top ones that have bandwagons and 'fan' who only go to finals etc.
