Yeah his internet persona is completely different than real life I gather.

Boards not suited to an ama format. Difficult to read

Just watching a few videos that popped up on Instagram and a couple of things I hadn't considered:

    1) a lot of people here talking about McGregor's movement as something that Floyd might not be used to. How do you see wearing boots impacting this?

    2) what is an octagon like compared to a boxing ring in terms of padding/tension etc. Even within boxing it can vary wildly and can cause issues, e.g. Klitschko always liked a really soft ring.

Yep, I called him out on it on his ask me question thread and he got smart and ignored my questions then got cheeky.

To be fair you went into his AMA spouting at him, didn't ask a question and he dismissed you. Then you answered someone else's question on his behalf and he had a smart response. Fair on both.

    1. I don't think the boots will affect it too much, he can still move. I think the main question will be can he move for boxing.

    2. I would have thought octagons are softer because of the take downs etc, boxing rings can vary. They are also a good bit smaller.

Nope fair comment I made to him about selling wolf tickets and being disingenuous with comments like that, knew he'd see it and might take it on board, as for answering questions it was a stupid question that didnt need JK to answer so saved him the trouble, he then got cheeky about it which I find amusing tbh.

I think that was more a case of Klitschko trying to cheat.

Either way, the point remains - padding and ring tension vary considerably.

Where in London would the world tour be held?
Is is there even a venue set?

O2 or Wembley Arena I'd say.

Ppv price in the us $60+

Ppv price in Russia, next to nothing and won't be bought.

Wasn't sure on the pricing. $60+ is very steep.

A few of you here are having regular pot shots at each other, some of it is getting very personal and verging on bullying. Others are taking it upon yourselves to dish out abuse and make comments towards people just because they dont have the same opinion as you. As for the trolls that sit in the background and only like certain comments or drop in to throw their two cents in - do everyone a favour and just dont post or frequent the forum. You know who you are - so lets gets a few things straight. This is an MMA forum, people are free to discuss or debate on either side of the fence..people do not have to agree with each other, like the same fighters or have the same opinion. Anyone trying to instigate something or provoke others to get a reaction or get them banned will find that backfire very quickly. Personal abuse or comments wont be tolerated, those I am referring to above, you are all walking a very thin line and consider this a warning that any more of the kind of crap I have been reading back over both here and on the AMA thread and you will be banned without any warnings or cards - enough nonsense, grow up and have a proper discussion.

Looking past the mayweather fight, it's a unique training period for conor since he started mma. Couple months of straight boxing, sparring with very technical guys before experiencing what it's like to box with the best in the world.

From an MMA perspective, do people think he'll be even sharper with his hands when he returns? I mean he loses out in other aspects obviously...

Has to improve him even further. JK said they throw in the odd shoot takedown to keep him on his toes :)

Maybe I'm wrong but I think it's actually beneficial, especially if Khabib is next.

I don't see the point in Conor putting in 2 months solid on takedown defence or on the mat trying to defend Khabib's sambo-based offence.

I'm on record as saying this but I actually think Ferguson is the far more difficult fight stylistically. I think Conor runs through Khabib inside 2 minutes.

Agree there, tony definitely the tougher match up of the two but dont think either of them give him major problems if he comes even half correct with his take down defense, from watching the two of them they leave themselves way too open and conor would find their chins easy enough I'd imagine.

Ferguson gets hit a lot, hes Diaz like the way hes got a crazy chin but I'd fancy McGregor to sleep him if Lando Vannata could give him a fright, his left hand is no use when Khabib chains a takedown together.

To be honest I think both Tony and Khabib would struggle with Conors hands.

Tony doesn't have the same chin as Diaz. Same with Khabib.

No way he doesn't get hit over five rounds and when he does it would be lights out imo.

I actually think the Ferguson fight will turn out to be an easy fight for him.

Ferguson isn't going to stand with McGregor for long, he either gets put to sleep or if he survives the first few shots McGregor lands he's shooting/iminari rolling for his life until finished. Don't care how many times he's taking big shots from other fighters, he isn't taking the power and accurate shots McGregor will hit him with.

The Khabib fight I'm a little more worried about but still think he'll avoid the takedowns just enough to stop him.

Yep, agree. Historically Conor struggles a *tiny* bit more on taller forward-pressure opponents. I'm thinking Max and Nate obviously but Tony is similar enough in his pressure and volume.

Khabib isn't really that type of fighter. He's a bit more in the Maia camp, where he'll throw some hands to find an opening for a takedown.

I will, of course, be very nervous if Khabib does chain together a takedown :pac:

I'm surprised that he would entertain the idea of fighting him after his last drop out of a fight.

Its a risk getting prepared for someone who might not show up.

Even with the successful takedown do people think khabib would finish Conor on the floor? I see it being similar to Mendes. He'll maybe get him down, not finish him and then eventually succumb to Conors striking.

Where can I read this ama?

Kavanagh is a milksop character. Acts the tough man on Twitter. Heard a few stories about his skeletons.

Well gossip please. as unfounded as you like, isnt that what message boards are for

Yeah I also thought that he wouldn't choose to fight khabib because he missed weight but of course the banter would be awesome and fighting in Russia is such a tempting prospect.

After the Ama with John I feel somewhat reassured that they are doing all they can. I will sit on the fence until fight week.
