Conor may weather Floyd's storm, but can money man be made look laborious by the UFC's Notorius....

Any ideas what JK may have been referring to when he mentioned asking a few refs if their gameplan was within the rules? Sounds interesting.

Probably to do with the clinch work they seem intent on having Conor work

Follow Rugby at all?? Six Nations this year, England vs Italy, The English should have mauled them but the Italians had a tactic, Their Coach, Conor O'Shea went into the refs room before the game and told them the tactic (not contesting the maul), and that it was within the rules, funny as hell, the English didn't have a clue what to do and this was basic schoolboy rugby stuff. He'd have to bring it up with the referee to ensure he was aware of the rule and what he was going to do

Guessing JK has found a similar loophole (obviously fight related and not a maul :pac::pac:)

Look I've had it with you, Finglashoop, Weldoninho and the other trolls.

    You've got nearly 2,000 posts.

You've now quoted ME or replied to ME over 700 times.

Almost every single time to disagree with me and/or slag me off. Whenever I say something I know you agree with, you stay silent.

Your replies have included over 400 curse words and constantly having a go.

I'm tired of the constant negativity, sniping and frankly I've no idea why half of you even follow MMA as I've never actually seen any of you bring any positivity to anything.

I sat down and asked some questions in that 'AMA' and numerous posters just went over there to derail the thread and slag me off.

The man has better things to be doing with his time than reading that and frankly I'm done with this too.

Im not trolling you at all.

But you have so many posts and sometimes become like rafa benitez whrn he went on his "fact" rant.

I would agree wit a lot of what you say but at the same time you seem to think you are some sort of sbg apologist/defender/spokesman and not just a random ( albeit prolific and well studied when writing) mma fan like the rest of us.

The ignore button is what you need as you seem to enjoy the debating side ( rather than responding to trolls) and i would say these threads would be 50% less active / interesting if you stopped posting altogether.

Not everyone with the opposite view is a troll

But some are..and some are clearly targeting the guy. Maybe not you..weldoninhio is definitely one. There's constructive debate and there's being an ass*ole. I would suggest it's the latter for some of the folk on here. The guys a fan . Get over it. This isn't sherdog with ill informed fanboys.

Maybe wonderful can just make his own thread and put his short stories in there

Someone asked what taglines might be used for the fight. I came up with 3, none of them trolling, and got milled out of it.

How about you head over to the AMA and take a look at your thinly veiled dig and come back to me.
Anyway I have no intention of entertaining you. The lad can defend himself.

mcgregors tactic looks like it might be getting behind mayweather and landing a shot from there and fighting both orthodox/southpaw

Why should he have to? Whenever he's put something in then IMO he's put it in the relevant thread.

I for one like Wonderfullife and his posts, for someone so new to MMA he's really grasped the sport and has learned a lot, isn't that what this place is all about? Learning and helping others or has that fact been lost along the way?

Clearly but he put everyone in the same group

Well one of that group were obvious. The others I would leave to his better judgement. Anyway derailing the thread.

Maybe that's just what he wants them to think..... that the mad Irishman is so unhinged that he is going to go in there and try and be a ghost in the ring.

That's what I have been taking from his tweets anywhere.

So who is he sparing with?

I took it to mean he would try and take his back from the clinch, and throw shots from there before being separated...could be wrong, though, it did happen that one other time

Oh I agree with you that's what it suggests alright.... but I just feel that if he was going to do that.... he wouldn't be posting alluding to it.

Imo at least, could be wrong.

    Thinly veiled dig?

You ever heard the song Stan by Eminem about obsessive fans?? Seen the De Niro movie "The Fan", heard of the obsessed Stefi Graf fan that stabbed Monica Seles?? Ever seen the messages JK gets himself and reposted on Facebook? Don't think any of them are about anyone on here. Or will you be getting onto Eminem/De Niro/JK to call them out too??

    http://www.punditarena.com/mmaufc/ccunningham/dana-white-reveals-conor-mcgregors-insane-idea-for-a-ufc-comeback-fight/

Conor says he wants Khabib in Russia after the Mayweather fight! (Provided he beats Tony)

Fight in Russia would be insane!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,663 ✭✭✭JoeyJJ

Dana getting some payback for letting Conor fight Money, UFC looking to break Russian market and Conor is obliging.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,719 ✭✭✭EagererBeaver

He's got balls, I'll give him that.

What's the Russian ppv market like?

I'd say it's huge, apparently when white tweets something, there are thousands upon thousands of comments in Russian all about Khabib.
And the UFC are out there exploring before all the Mayweather stuff took off.

There will be a big switch in training after the boxing to get back to takedown defense.

Popularity is one thing but do they have the money to shell out for a PPV?

It's Russia after all, I'm sure there'd be some, ah, methods of subsidising a reduced revenue stream.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,663 ✭✭✭JoeyJJ

PPV has to be very lucrative in Russia or there is no point going over, I would imagine it would have to be late Sunday night locally to try to get some US PPV's Sunday Lunch however they would have to time it properly outside the Football season. Not sure winter would give them many options on stadia as it would have to be inside in winter.

When is the FOX deal over in US?

Yeah if primetime Saturday/Sunday in Russia would clash with college football/NFL over the winter.

    All speculation, we'll see.
